7-Elevens (and "corner markets" and conveniece stores in general) in the US have a somewhat sketchy reputation, as they are often found in down-market areas and sometimes charge high prices for days old stock. Whereas in Asia, they are an integral part of the crowded urban landscape (as well as exurban and country areas) and feature a plethora of common everyday household and food items at competitive prices. In fact, in Asia, locals and travelers can satisfy all their food needs from the local Sevens and other convenience store chains (especially in Japan/Taiwan from my first hand experience).

in Asia, locals and travelers can satisfy all their food needs from the local Sevens. Funny but in the Sevens I usual visit 90 % of the clients are farang. Yes sometimes a Thai hop in to buy cigarettes. And what about the totally absence of fresh vegetables ?

Thailand has been a stronghold for automobile manufacturing for decades. It nicknamed itself "the Detroit of Asia," and the moniker stuck, with good reason. It's currently the 12th most industrious auto manufacturer in the world, and the largest in Southeast Asia.

Japanese makers like Toyota and Mitsubishi have had operations in Thailand since the 1960s. GM, Ford, Mercedes and BMW all followed.

They had to follow because of high taxes on imported cars.

What would be the advantage to ANY government by hiding figures about this virus?

Can a government alone handle the situation without the cooperation of its citizens?

Is it possible for any government to hide mass deaths, if it is happening?

Can infected patients be hidden in public hospitals?

(Not trying to prove anything, just asking!)

    Iran, Russia, perhaps China ?

The lack of testing and diagnosis here is certainly an issue of concern regarding this supposed ranking that Thailand has.

Yet at the same time, we're not hearing any anecdotal evidence of significant virus spread and death in Thailand... no social media posts about families falling sick, no reports out of hospitals about overflowing admissions or full ICU units, etc etc...

If there was actual spread of the virus going on here, you'd have to wonder would the authorities be able to keep it invisible for all this time, i.e., not have the telltale signs come popping into public view?

Talking to my Tee Rak on Skype the other day there was a bang in the background. I asked her "are they shooting ?" "They do that when somebody dies, you hear that a lot now". "They die of Corona ?" "I don't know".................................................

And what pray makes Thai workers unique for picking fruit etc ? anyone can do that work and many nations will for less money, and thats before the plandemic. If i were the business in Sweden or Finland id be getting workers from a different place, no

I hear the sound of a door being slammed shut on another group of poor rural Thais just trying to make a living...

What make them so unique ? It is hard work, the fruit (wild berries) are picked with a dented scoop staying bend over and they start early in the morning until evening. They are paid by the kilo, you can't find nobody in Europe to do this kind of work for so little money.

Who would then  pick the fruits and vegetables that the Swedes need? You would have angry Swedes if they could not have their fresh berries.

The migrant labour is there because the Swedes believe that their unemployed and poor are too good for manual field labour.

    Like the Thai.
