Things are getting bleaker here in Chalong...my 25 guesthouse on Soi Ta-iad is down to just one guest (me) from 2-3 over the past few months; and a favorite resto on the soi that's been open up till now has recently "temporarily" closed.

This will be good for the dive industry as it will allow day-trip and liveaboard boats from these provinces to visit dive sites across provincial lines...currently, boats based in Phuket are limited to the Racha islands, Ko Doc Mai, and a couple other sites within Phuket's maritime boundaries. The Phi-Phi islands and several other sites are located in adjacent Krabi and Phang Nga waters.

Being "stuck" outside of Thailand is a choice...I personally know 4 people with retirement, family, or marriage ties to Thailand that have returned during the pandemic.

Doesn't seem to be any pattern to the deaths...Indonesia is a seeming outlier.

Isn't this the second Pattaya-Hua Hin ferry service to fail within the past 15 years ????

It's about $10; and lived in Thailand 20+ years and not killed yet...even for 10 baht.
