  1. Trying to tie into legacy systems? The Brownfield approach. (Some) New, ground-up apps here seem to work OK, like Mor Prom. TM.30 Web seems permanently neutered, still unable to SAVE a new record, but the app does work. Seems like thailand 4.0 could do better on this but there is probably little incentive to do so. At the very least they could offer more local (district) in-person options, just set up in a larger district government office, or police station. Accept paper, distribute a new report date, and forward the paper on to the Imm office. This would be a cushy job, and provide additional employment for the RTP (Imm.).
  2. My Pixel 6 running Android 12 also has this option. The ad at the top of the "Chats" list is annoying, and easy to accidentally click on. I usually hit the "X" which gets rid of it for a while. There must be pi-hole expert groups out there?
  3. Note that BBC World News is bundled in the Play Premium bundle, 199/month, and the Play Premium Plus bundle, 299/month. https://www.ais.th/play/en/package.html?scrolltop=playpremium and is not in the free package.
  4. Were you required to show a confirmed air ticket? Ah, OK. Maybe the pm will get this enabled, without the need to apply for the yellow booklet, as our gift?
  5. I have an AIS prepaid SIM. I have AIS Play, basic edition, pretty sure it's free. https://www.ais.th/play/en/freecontents.html?scrolltop=freecontents1 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ais.mimo.AISPlay They do offer a number of paid, add-on services. I also signed up for Disney +/Hotstar during the 35 baht/month promo. I use the app's casting option to cast to my Chromecast/TV. You may be able to run the app natively on a TV or Android TV box. https://www.ais.th/play/en/index.html Maybe get an AIS SIM if you don't have one, download the app and see if it has what you want.
  6. Advice InvadeIT JIB Advice, in addition to being a retailer with web and physical shops, is also the largest reseller here.
  7. Is that from the Mor Phrom app? My International Certificate tab is simply a request (mail delivery/bank transfer or make appointment) ffor the yellow paper booklet. Where does that QR code take you? The same place as the QR code from the Digital Health Pass tab?
  8. Prop 13 certainly contributed to the "death" of the middle class in CA. Proper estate planning is a must, both for asset protection (e.g. Medicaid Look-Back) of the older generation (in your family), and for the transfer of wealth. It's worth a few thousand dollars. Start early, very early. Also get a PoA in place.
  9. I think you might be hosed re: setting up a login.gov account? Without a state-issued ID, with an address potentially matching that on your credit reports, and a legitimate U.S. mobile phone number, you may not be able to proceed. Evidently the account creation process is far more complex than when I did it several years ago (2018)? I may have created this account during a trip to the U.S. as I needed it to renew my Global Entry account. https://login.gov/help/verify-your-identity/how-to-verify-your-identity/ https://login.gov/help/verify-your-identity/accepted-state-issued-identification/ You cannot verify your identity on Login.gov without a state-issued ID. We’re currently working to add more ways to verify your identity. In the meantime, please contact the partner agency’s help center to find out what you can do. For tax filing I assume you can determine the gross proceeds, perhaps from direct-deposit bank records? And any tax withheld, allowing you to file a return. Just add a cover letter detailing the situation. Or contact PBGC in February 2022 and see if they can email you a copy of your 1099? I know, for example, that SSA/Manilla will email a SSA-1099 upon request (locked PDF with separate email with PW). Or ask them to mail it to a family member, then ask them to open it and provide the box details. Going forward, maybe get a security key, and consider a U.S. mobile number. I still use T-Mobile, but would recommend UltraMobile, which has WiFi calling, which I can confirm works fine here. Better than T-Mobile actually. You'll need someone in the U.S. to help set up the UltraMobile SIM, and then mail it to you here. Or have them amil the SIM, but then you'll need their help, or someone here with a real U.S. mobile number, to set it up. UM is $3/month. My login.gov is connected to ssa.gov but it really only takes you to the website to create a new account, which I don't want to mess with as I already got it set up with id.me.
  10. Recent (last week) walk-through https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1h_wRdqm33E
  11. In Austria to pick up his Red Bull dividend? Let us know how that gets treated re: taxes in thailand? Red Bull, the holding company overseeing sales of the canned caffeine-spiked drink, booked net revenue of 6.3 billion euro (S$9.65 billion) in 2020, 4 per cent more than a year earlier, according to the group's annual report posted to the Austrian company register. That produced net income of 1.18 billion euros, a 29 per cent increase from 2019. Red Bull is paying out half of the year's distributable profit plus half a billion euros of retained earnings to Mateschitz and his co-shareholders, Thailand's Yoovidhya family, which controls 51 per cent of the company, according to a resolution of the shareholders attached to the annual report. Red Bull's total dividend is more than double the amount paid to shareholders last year. https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/consumer/red-bull-billionaire-grabs-us765m-dividend-in-year-of-pandemic
  12. Yes. Of course. Adding another phone number (three now, text and voice, so six options), and the FIDO key give two (seven?) extra options before resorting to the recovery code. I think you can also request backup codes. It's an option on the left side of the dashboard. I'm still not clear on the link, if any, between login.gov and myssa? SSA and CBP Trusted Traveler Program show as "connected" to login.gov in my account. The SSA link throws the This service is not available at this time. Please try again during our regular service hours (Eastern Time): message so need to follow up on that.
  13. My guess is that this is the protocol the CCSA/MoPH issued, and that all restaurants agreed to. My questions: Is your friend being paid during their quarantine? Was every other close-contact employee similarly affected? Knowingly letting a positive employee (not your friend) continue to work, especially in food service seems idiotic. Quarantining close contacts who've been vaxxed for some period also seems wise. Maybe five days? With a test-out option.
  14. There may be an issue with login.gov originating SMSes today? I opted for the automated call to my Thai mobile, it rang in from Alabama (caller ID) with an automated passcode. I was able to log in and added another phone number (U.S. mobile) and my FIDO key as authentications. So win win today. Again thanks for the info.
  15. Interesting. I was able to finally register for myssa - I did use my U.S. address. I used id.me and a FIDO card. Quite convoluted - used my passport card (front and back), my T-Mobile number of record and live facial scanning. I can log-in to myssa. Thanks cmarshall for the nudge. I could not log in to login.gov today, I was unable to receive the SMSes to my Thai phone. I did receive SMSes on Nov 11, so not sure what's up there. One win today, maybe one loss? For id.me I did add an Android Authenticator. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.id.auth
  16. AFAIK, a U.S. address is required. (APO acceptable too.) When did your wife set this up?
  17. If it's part of Mor Phrom, and I think it is or will be, then many/most/all non-Thais vaccinated here should also get prayut's "gift"? There is already a pick for "International Certificate", which right now is simply a request form for the physical yellow book. Maybe that will be re-jiggered?
  18. At least now we know where the Penthouse Letter "writers" end up when they retire. Should probably be renamed Covid Tails?
  19. As long as boss keeps up his donations to the Police Benevolent Association of thailand he will be fine. This latest episode of "Where is boss" is reminiscent of the Interpol Red Notice kerfuffle a few years ago. Why not just give up, acknowledge what EVERYONE knows - the thai legal system is a bad joke - and move on. Just stop trying to jump the shark.
  20. Nice. CW (the address we mail to) takes me ~ 7 weeks (mail-in/receive), and they process the form on the next report date. No clue why it takes so long, maybe the batch them inbound and outbound? Mail-in is fine, they return all the copies, so you just have to add a new TM.47 for the next one.
  21. OK, I missed the dog-whistle on this one. My bad. Yes, there were a lot of in quarantine photos. Yes, buses, vans, patients queued outside for admission. I do know three people who ended up quarantined at this specific facility.
  22. OK, are you now asking about traveling by private car or motorcycle? That's an entirely different question. You said you were traveling by train in your OP. And where are you going? And when? My personal long-haul driving experience (Bangkok-Phrae return, with several stops-side-trips) was zero vaccination check-points (October). This seems to be the norm - obviously there will be exceptions - but in some villages there may be a visit from health authorities for those coming from red-zones. If you've truly contracted COVID and recovered then get that experience (tests, results, dates, treatments, quarantine) documented with the MoPH and you're good to go.
  23. Who knows what the mask situation might be in the future? Bring masks. And then gauge the situation when you arrive. Not overly complex. Plenty of Youtube vloggers here and posting daily, just use the hashtag bangkok or thailand and look for yourself.
  24. Most of those photos were taken during or just after they were put together. Photos with citizen/patients were probably discouraged for privacy reasons? But they were out there.
  25. Imagine there was some corruption, a la footsal court-style, with funds budgeted and allocated, and then spent/skimmed? Orders from Bangkok and all that. Field hospitals in/around Bangkok seemed quite busy, during the Delta surge. One near us (Bang Phli/Samut Prakan - just off Bang Na-Trat) was quite large and seemed to be always active, seems now unused.
