TM30 Filing on Return to Thailand
mtls2005 replied to houstoniron's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yeah, most of us are aware of this. But as I said, for me it would be a personal choice to file a new TM30, just to insure a clean record going forward. It only takes a few minutes, so like I said, for me, personally I would take the time to do it. -
TAT proposes paying part of quarantine bill for tourists
mtls2005 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Did this moron just figure out that some other countries quarantine any returnees? Did he just wake up after a year-long siesta? I doubt this scheme would lead to any increase in "tourists". It's not so much about the money quarantine-ing upon a return, it's the extra time required after you return home. -
TM30 Filing on Return to Thailand
mtls2005 replied to houstoniron's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
For me personally, I would file a new TM30 within a day of leaving ASQ and returning to my long-time residence. I'd assume the ASQ facility flied a TM30 for me, and I'd wish to overwrite that. But filing a TM30 is relatively easy if your address is registered with the system. I think the app works fine, but seem to recall people having issues saving a record when using the web interface. I'd also assume the 90 day reporting clock starts when I get stamped in at SBIA/BKK or HKT, and not after I'm released from ASQ. -

TAT eyes travel bubble with South Korea - China on radar too
mtls2005 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
In the past this sort of thing hasn't been an impediment. In fact, reading and listening to visitor's comments at various times since 2006, it's almost a badge of honor. It might be downer if the "temples" and "food" (euphemisms for something else) aren't in full supply though? -

CDC (U.S.) as part of a broader Booster announcement/plan... “We also anticipate booster shots will likely be needed for people who received the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine. Administration of the J&J vaccine did not begin in the U.S. until March 2021, and we expect more data on J&J in the next few weeks. With those data in hand, we will keep the public informed with a timely plan for J&J booster shots as well. https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/s0818-covid-19-booster-shots.html

So, let me guess... they have a lot of Sinovac on hand now and, hope to have some AZ later. Do I have that right? Seems like they're trying to sucker a desperate and gullible public into taking the first vax as SV? Honestly, they have a new scheme every day. And they keep pushing the AZ bubble (2nd doses for what, close to 10 million people with one dose of AZ) out farther. This patchwork approach may look good in powerpoint presentations with a marginally intelligent Thai government audience, but once it hits reality it fails, spectacularly. From the article: The testing was done using the Plaque Reduction Neutralization Test on six groups of volunteers. • The first group were those vaccinated with two doses of Sinovac. • The second group were those vaccinate with two doses of AstraZeneca • The third group were those vaccinated with Sinovac for the first dose and two doses of AstraZeneca • The fourth group were those vaccinated with AstraZeneca as the first dose and then Sinovac. • The fifth group were those vaccinated with two doses of Sinovac and Sinopharm as a third booster shot. • The last group were those vaccinated with two doses of Sinovac and AstraZeneca as a third booster shot. Size of groups, intervals? I think I'd trust a bar-stool "doctor" before any of these morons.

COVID-19: Thailand reports 19,851 coronavirus cases
mtls2005 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Seeing that 7-day average curling downwards is encouraging, as long as it is not a pause like the one last month. (This assumes the testing/positives are even an accurate representation of the 'real" situation.) But what's next? Without a vaccination plan being executed, we will open up, and then what's to prevent another wave? -
This seems reasonable. I can recall ~ five named by reliable, first-hand sources here, and on other social media platforms. This excludes foreign migrants from nearby countries.

Under 60 YO, without one or more of the underlying conditions? And which vaccine was that? Many hospital groups are organizing a second Moderna order, including MedPark. https://www.medparkhospital.com/page/moderna-vaccine-booking/
