  1. Everyone understands that a vaccination does not prevent the contraction, and potential spread of the virus. It can and does lower the viral load, reducing the spread potential. No. No one thinks this. Three for three on the false equivalencies. "Stan, tell our studio audience what the ronster has won..." By the way, the money is in the 'horn' and not the teeth.
  2. In the U.S. anyway, Pfizer is the only vaccine approved for 12-18 year olds. There's got to be what, ~6 million in this age group? 350,000? Not sneezing here but my bucket still only has a drop or two in it. I guess the regime feels like they need to do something in this age group, so using their one single bullet against a herd of elephants in musth charging. Good luck with that.
  3. Another cat is freed from the bag. Authority figures speaking truth to power, even in these dire and dreadful times, is at least one bright spot. Vaccinations fell off in the most recent period, down to 219,840, from 570,865. Feels like the wad has been shot for August. Nothing to back-stop this except shelter-in-place.
  4. What makes you think this is Moderna V.2? Maybe it's follow-on batches of Original Moderna? Moderna V.2 is at least a year away from being available here. It looks like you only purchased one dose each for three people. Is that the recommended dosage? Will this be a single-dose regimen? This Phase 1 study will evaluate three dose levels, 10 µg, 30 µg, and 100 µg, of the mRNA-1283 vaccine candidate given to healthy adults as a 2-dose series, 28 days apart, and one dose level, 100 µg, of mRNA-1283 given to healthy adults in a single dose. These will be compared with a 2-dose series of 100 µg of mRNA-1273, the currently authorized dose level. mRNA-1283 is intended to be evaluated in futures studies for use as a booster dose for previously vaccinated or seropositive and in a primary series for seronegative individuals. https://www.precisionvaccinations.com/2021/03/15/modernas-second-generation-covid-19-vaccine-candidate-launches-study
  5. People still seem to be trying to both justify their belief and convince others that they should or shouldn't self-medicate with ivermectin. The extent to which the ivermectineers go to to convince others is fascinating. It seems they need others to reinforce their own beliefs, so it is a cult of sorts. As with freedom of religion, I think people should be free to choose, and self-medicate, but they should limit their efforts to influence others. I fully support ivermectineer's choice to self-medicate. Anyway, the OP seems past that stage and just wants to know where to buy it. And what is a fair price. IMO, ivermectineers here should share whether they use it for prophylaxis or treatment, their dosage, and the results.
  6. That might explain the gigantic queue I witnessed at 14:30?
  7. Signage is in A4 format/size, and blocked by those in line. Again just hug the left side. There's maitre-d managing the rope.
  8. Google Air V&V Guam, all is there for you... https://www.postguam.com/news/local/guam-vaccination-opens-up-to-foreign-travelers/article_e2ce0138-d246-11eb-8508-e3c34f8214ee.html https://www.visitguam.com/about-guam/safety-tips/coronavirus/ There've been a few threads on this, so a search might yield some nuggets.
  9. And add ASQ or sandbox hotels, insurance, fees, tests, etc. Transport HKT-BKK. Pretty easy to find this in minutes, hotel is the biggest variable I'd imagine. Some decent AirBNBs. Flights are flights, probably via NRT, on United (NH).
  10. Quite busy when I arrived today at 14:30, facing the building walk around to the right, where I saw a serpentine of ~ 100 people. Most appear young and healthy, and Asian. Assume they're there for AZ or Sv? Over 60? Hug the left hand side closest to the building, where there is a short line for over 60. Two deep when I arrived. You get a number here. Head inside to queue; three banks for Sinovac, AZ and Pfizer, from left to right. Take a seat in your vaccine section, get BP taken (don the arm condom), fill out two page consent form, wait to check-in at a numbered desk. Again Pfizer is on the right side. Agent taps away, then sends to the vaccination stations. It's a factory, the nurse who did me did it in less than 10 seconds. Then it's off to the Bingo area, wait for "observation" (said to be 30 minutes, barely 20), then wait for your name to be called - BINGO - get BP taken and there you get an appointment for the second dose, in 21 days for Pfizer (Comirnaty is the actual name of the vaccine). Hope I'm not in the placebo group.
  11. Yesterday this would have been "fake news". Today it is "news". Amazing Thighland.
  12. All but two (2) shares are owned by the CPB. The Chairman (Air Chief Marshal Satitpong Sukvimol) owns one (1) share, and some senior retired RTP official owns one (1) share. I assume three is the minimum required.
  13. Said to be quite crowded today. Photos show the seating area nearly fully populated. Not like the first day, but busier than the last two days.
  14. For Guam, it's still five (5) weeks (Pfizer: 21 days + 14 day THL sandbox requirement) , assuming you want to return to Thailand via a sandbox. Six weeks for Moderna. Or add the 2 weeks for ASQ in Bangkok. Same-same. The cost of the vaccine seems insignificant when one adds in the airfare and hotel? And once you land are you guaranteed the vaccine of your choosing? For some here it might be the best alternative? A lot of "influencers" are "promoting" this option. Palau? Really? 2-stops? 3-stops? Via GUM of course. I hear that for Guam you deal with the Thai consulate in Los Angeles for the CoE. I'd go back to the U.S., but that's me.
  15. Well they did grant themselves the power to do this, so technically, as with all thing here, it would be "legal". National Vaccine Security Act B.E. 2561 (2018) Section 18 In case of emergency or necessary cause for public interest, for prevention, control, treatment or abatement of disease severity or for security of the country, the Cabinet under consent of the Committee shall have power to promulgate and prescribe any of the following issues: (1) Manufacture vaccine in determined kind and quantity; (2) The proportion of temporary vaccine exportation out of the Kingdom shall be proper for the proportion of domestic vaccine usage; Whether it would hold up in courts outside of Thailand is unknown. What is known is that it would be IDIOTIC to do something like this. Hence, a good chance it might happen. The regime is seeing support peel away daily, especially from the salim, minions and dinosaurs. Controlling the epidemic is key to maintaining power. So yeah, they're desperate and will probably do anything to stay in power.
  16. For the regime, saying that they are ordering vaccines is easy. For foreigners, registering (for the Nth time) for a vaccine is easy. OK, easier than it was in the Mor Prom days of olde. Administering a vaccine? Not so easy. I assume if the minister had real news, like deliveries, he'd share that vigorously. That he can only talk about "what ifs" is revealing. All that said, they're over half a million vaccines administered in each of the last three days. They blew it out yesterday, with 570,865. Not sure supplies will support this level for any sustained period.
  17. Netflix is adding residential IP addresses to its VPN blocklists Netflix's new "VPN" block policies can catch innocent users in the crossfire. Netflix blocks known commercial VPNs and proxies from accessing its services in order to preserve its geofencing—partitioning access to content based on a user's real-world location. Users who connect to a commercial VPN or proxy provider endpoint in another country can access content licensed for viewing in the endpoint country—but not in the viewer's own. Recently, as reported by TorrentFreak*, Netflix began including putatively residential IP subnets in its blocklists. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/08/netflix-is-adding-residential-ip-addresses-to-its-vpn-blocklists/ * https://torrentfreak.com/netflix-intensifies-vpn-ban-and-targets-residential-ip-addresses-too-210811/
  18. Yeah, the MoFA and DCA did a bang-up job registering people. For many, this was their third or fourth "registration". Registering people is easy. Getting them vaccinated, less so. Then they (MoFA/DCA) handed registration information off to the MoPH. Cue cricket sounds, tumbleweeds rolling through the scene. Instead of providing an accurate update - even if it's bad news - we're left with the usual shrugs. The lack of communication here is ALWAYS a BAD sign. MoPH/DDC is probably trying to figure out what to do with a list of 45,000 ferners. It is likely a very challenging logistics/scheduling/communication project.
  19. The actual headlines, from ~ 2 months ago: "Government Approves Order to 5 million J&J" "Government Hopes to Ink Deal with J&J" Haven't heard much since then. ~ 13 million people have received J&J in the U.S. AFAIK, no U.S. government agencies are currently recommending a booster for J&J. I think Canada shelved their use of J&J and will donate all their stocks. J&J is obviously thrilled about the Sisonke pre-print re: Delta Breakthroughs, given that there was increasing doubt about this vaccine's efficacy against Delta.
  20. Prominent Thai doctor says lockdown measures aren’t working, tighter ones won’t work either, ease them to save the economy and consider an export ban on Covid19 vaccines and greatly boost vaccination program again, one doctor on Facebook. Newsworthy? Meh. Seen better headlines though.
  21. ~ 44,000 registered last I saw on 8 Aug. Tomorrow (Friday) morning, our #MFA Spokesman will be speaking on Radio #Thailand’s MFA Update program on vaccination for foreign residents. Tune in to FM 88 MHz at 08.05 hrs. to listen to the program live or listen to the program afterwards via MFA Thailand Channel on YouTube.
  22. Shield them from what? And why? (I assume when you say "executing doctors" and "executing nurses" you mean those doing their normal job, and not killing people by executing them?)
  23. I'm in the same situation, end-June - through July 4 2022, to the U.S.. IMO, no benefit to booking air now. OK to book hotel and car as those are easily cancellable; I wouldn't prepay those. I expect to be fully vaxxed in Thailand with an acceptable vaccine prior to departing. For the return I think there will be some paperwork, insurance requirements then, but maybe not a CoE. Am thinking no ASQ for fully vaccinated. Maybe a test on arrival, home quarantine? The look-back period on vaccinations/boosters will be something to keep an eye on.
