I guess it's an opinion, those are allowed here, right? We're not in Florida so I'm guessing "Yes"? Conservative Media Cheering DeSantis Crackdown on Disney Are Ignoring What a Catastrophe It Would Be for Florida In addition to the free speech, property rights, and equal protection grounds, there is also the simple fact that repealing RCID without the consent of the voting landowners is prohibited by current state law. Section 189.072(2) of the Florida Statutes restricts how the legislature can dissolve an active independent special district like RCID, requiring the vote of “a majority of the landowners voting in the same manner by which the independent special district’s governing body is elected.” HC 3C begins “Notwithstanding s. 189.072(2),” so the bill drafters are clearly aware of this provision but there’s nothing in the short text of the bill that could overcome the rights of the RCID voting landowners. https://www.mediaite.com/opinion/conservative-media-cheering-desantis-crackdown-on-disney-are-ignoring-what-a-catastrophe-it-would-be-for-florida/

As Walt Disney Corp. had the temerity to exercise their First Amendment rights by criticizing HB 1557, https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2022/1557 the florida governor has now decided to hold a mouse, princess, jedi and an avenger hostage. Most rational people see this for the political stunt that it is, given the waiver allowed in June 2023 after the mid-terms. It is illegal and unconstitutional in so many ways, hardly surprising as it was slapped together in ~ three days. Florida Senate passes bill to end Disney self-government TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — The Florida Senate on Wednesday passed a bill to repeal a law allowing Walt Disney World to operate a private government over its properties in the state, escalating a feud with the entertainment giant over its opposition to what critics call the “ Don’t Say Gay ” law. The proposal could have huge tax implications for Disney, whose series of theme parks have over the decades transformed Orlando into one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations. And Democrats have warned that the move could cause local homeowners to get hit with big tax bills if they have to absorb bond debt from Disney — although such details are far from clear. https://apnews.com/article/travel-business-arts-and-entertainment-florida-orlando-764fd04befeb51ca0a48c1c143e690ab https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2022C/4C/BillText/er/PDF

Bangkok Bank App and Travelling Abroad
mtls2005 replied to RAZZELL's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
FWIW the Bualuang mBanking app was updated (3.16.1) on Wednesday, 20 April. Some updates I noticed: in-app/native push notifications, ability to change registered phone number. WHAT'S NEW New features • Request statement for both Thai baht and FCD savings accounts • Change registered mobile number • Redo transactions from transaction history The last two times I needed a 2FA SMS OTP: added a new, second phone changed daily limits -
Bangkok Bank App and Travelling Abroad

Understood. Yes, we can all agree that the mobile app, or ibanking web access both work fine on WiFi, or mobile data. And that OTP SMSes are only used for specific actions unrelated to paying bills or transfering money within your set limits. The recommendations re: AIS were more about general connectivity (voice, text and data) than using the mobile app. Personally I'd also recommend enabling WiFi Calling. -
Why the need to shop in person? The local Advice shop in Hua Hin can order whatever Dell item you want. And InvadeIt is right there as well. You can order a laptop in the morning and have it delivered the same day, often at no extra charge. And there is a seven-day return policy. What is this "catalog"? ???? Global shortages, and people working from home decimated availability of everything from computers to video cameras to desks.

Postpaid or prepaid? Enable international roaming (*125*1#SEND), just in case you need to receive an OTP via SMS. They only use an OTP SMS for some activities, can't recall which exactly, maybe when you change any limits? Maybe turn off mobile data unless you add on a roaming data plan. You will need internet/data access (WiFi, or mobile data) to sue the app. Install and familiarize yourself with the MyAIS mobile app. I use the mobile app quite often here, to pay bills and transfer money to other BBL and SCB accounts. I only need to enter my mobile app PIN, or use fingerprint. Which type or style of ATM Debit card do you have? Assuming UnionPay then the ATM must display that logo. I'd review the terms and conditions of your specific card. -

Prinn Out on Bail, Ordered Not to Leave Thailand

50/50 Plutocracy and Kakistocracy. The worst of everything. -
Yeah, I think Netflix cut them loose, still they advised +2.5 subs, street had 2.8 m, net -200,000, and much worse in the next quarter. They did have growth in some regions/markets. They're said to be considering a "bronze" tier, with ads. But these services are so inexpensive there is no reason not to subscribe. Netflix, Disney +/Hotstar and HBOGo for me. All are on a 3x share, heck I think Disney+/Hotstar is 35 baht/month. 4K/HDR is obviously a HUGE plus. Apple, Hulu, Amazon have great programming too. I nibble on those a b(i)t. Obviously it's down to you and what you like,w ant and can afford. Easy enough for you to investigate the options and available programming.

Prinn Out on Bail, Ordered Not to Leave Thailand
mtls2005 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
"Double-Secret Probation"? Two points: Pretty sure they did not confiscate any of his passports. He can leave the country, legally, with permission from the court. Although letting an accused sex-offender trot off to another country, where he might suffer a recidivism, might not be the best idea? -
Prinn meet bus. Kinda, sorta sounds like to do want to defend this "guy". And you should, if you feel so strongly. That said, your post seems more reflexive than rational. Did you even read the article. The Democratic Party leader issued a vague apology; that is hardly a "drawn and quartering"? Maybe a bit hysterical there? Take a deep breath, relax and get on with defending Prinn. popcorn emoji not added.

Levi’s to open 100 stores in Thailand before summer
mtls2005 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This was in thailand? Recently? Which model? Which store? Where exactly? Where were these manufactured? Which waist/inseam size? AFAIK, Levis are not manufactured here in thailand. They do have plants in nearby countries. Based on your comments I think you got snookered. -
Best method to send debit card from US to Thailand
mtls2005 replied to gamb00ler's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
Does anyone have any experience arranging a pick-up of "documents" in the U.S. for mailing to thailand? USPS? DHL? FedEx? They all seem to offer this service, but not sure about waybill printing, envelope, etc. USPS Click-N-Ship for example. Am hoping a pick-up driver just shows up with everything preprinted. -
Meh. By the time the committee to study this is formed COVID-25 will be upon us. Yea, and they already have the traveler's cash. This is going to end messily, just a question of HOW messy.

Seems like this scheme will self-implode before the regime decides to drop it. Face-saving claxon will be set off shortly. Clean up in aisle 3.
