  1. Thailand trades with North Korea, why would they stop trading with Russia. And now with Saudi Arabia back on the stove it's a trifecta.

  10. No snakes were harmed during the recent exercises. RTA forces train in the U.S. all the time. Two weeks ago JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. - Paratroopers with the U.S. Army and Royal Thai Army conducted joint airborne operations onto Joint Base Lewis McChord’s Rogers Drop Zone, Feb. 15 and Feb. 18, 2022. The exercise prepares the partnered forces for a joint Strategic Airborne Operation in Thailand later this month. https://www.army.mil/article/254262/us_royal_thai_army_paratroopers_conduct_bilateral_airborne_operation_at_jblm https://www.dvidshub.net/video/832251/us-and-thai-paratroopers-conduct-bilateral-airborne-training
  11. And another ~ 18 (or 19?) States plus DC, with legalized medical, including such interesting states as Utah, Alabama, Mississippi. Still illegal at the Federal level though making things a bit more difficult. But, shockingly, cannabis legalization seems to be about the only issue where bipartisanship has real meaning? Unfortunately the Senate, old white men about 50 years behind the times, is the roadblock. M.O.R.E. Act https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/3617 I think a lot of countries have legalized medical, but that term means different things to different people in different countries.
  12. It's committee time. Real headline "Set-of a Committee to Study Cross-Border Travels will be Expedited" In other Thai-Malaysia news... Southern Thailand peace talks to resume in Malaysia on March 7
  13. Have you verified that changing the passport number here flows through to all the certificates, and underlying documents linked by QR codes? When I step through the process my passport number field is blank. Yet all documents linked from Mor Prom show my correct passport number.
  14. Only scanned it, but assumed it was written in the style of HST? But with fewer paragraphs.
  15. There is said to be a bill in Parliament which is said to define all the rules and regulations. There have been some leaks, mostly about large scale growing requirements. Law being rushed through parliament to allow for a new controlled regime allowing cultivation at home Mr Wissanu also explained that a new law will be introduced into parliament and passed before the new regulations come into play to specify and limit the use of cannabis to ensure that Thailand conforms with its obligations under several international conventions. Under the proposed new legal regime for the use of cannabis, it is thought that the cultivation of up to 6 plants for personal use will be allowed by the government provided that the plants have been notified to local authorities. A licence from the local government authority will be required to cultivate cannabis for commercial purposes and the new law and regulation will specify that any cannabis extract may not have a THC value in excess of 0.2, which is quite low. https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2022/01/29/cannabis-remains-illegal-new-law-pushed/ https://www.parliament.go.th/section77/survey_detail.php?id=193&fbclid=IwAR3mCIcx1oHdO_WWktVmqvsu0K8oNsSyk5247LZdY3zTQsDYq5FnraZJUk4 https://www.parliament.go.th/section77/manage/files/file_20220218082928_1_193.pdf
  16. Where is this? Bangrak? And they allow people to smoke there? Ah yes, "wonder". I mean we're in the 120-day period, so probably have to wait until ~ June 4 to break out the bong. There are busts every few days, mostly crops/growers or brick movers. 220 kilos in Nakhon Phanom last month. Photo op below. 163 Kilos found on the side of the road in Bang Phli (Samut Prakan) ~ 10 days ago. https://www.chiangraitimes.com/crime/163-kilos-of-high-grade-marijuana-found-on-roadside/ Pro-cannabis types have held large public events and sparked up in front of police, and have not been arrested. https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/high-spirits-thai-stoners-celebrate-legal-weed-smoking-photos/ I rely on Thais in the pro-cannabis movement for their interpretations of the soon-to-be-law. Many are pessimistic. Thailand cannot export cannabis products. The domestic market is quite small, even with Cannabis Sandboxes. There has been some significant investment, both in grow and processing operations, with some high end Thais on the boards of these companies, so not sure what to read into that?
  17. Yeah, these are called credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, Innovis. Most of these discussions here are about receiving 2FA OTPs. Sometimes we venture into registration for some service like login.gov or id.me. Everyone here has unique situations and requirements. We can usually fashion a decent recommendation once we understand what they really need. You're asking about something a bit more complex. Can you give an example of something you're trying to do? You should be able to get a new credit card, assuming decent credit status, but you will need to provide a physical address. If you had to guess, what address do you think say, Experian has for you now? (You can get a free account at Experian, but you may need a number to receive an SMS, GV works for me with Experian, but I need to sue a VPN here.) Do you have any faux presence in the U.S.? FWIW, there is no requirement that a cell service be post-paid per se. Credit reports may use this, as they would a utility bill, to ascertain your physical location, and credit-worthiness.
  18. Yes, we know. Ukrainian airspace has been CLOSED. Airlines scramble as Ukraine invasion redraws route map https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/airlines-should-stop-flying-over-all-ukraines-airspace-conflict-zone-monitor-2022-02-24/ MH17, been there done that. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-28357880
  19. Maybe they could add this to the FAQ and instructions. "Please try three times." Your reporting office?
  20. Growler might be be apropos? The biggest challenge to home-brewing here, besides the legality thing, and the supplies, is the ambient temperature. Yes you can run AC, or rig a fridge.
  21. Well they have to zag south, heading to Europe. Can be seen on flight trackers. Might add to the flying time by a few minutes? https://www.planemapper.com/flights/TG962
  22. Ouch. Most second-timers - the new system was just launched in early Dec - have reported success. Yours is the first I recall who was rejected. Note to self, take a screen grab of each submittal, then correlate that to a subsequent success so you can replicate it in 90 days.
  23. More conjecture. Your landlord is Thai? Your landlord registered the specific property to use the online TM.30 system (web or app)? https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn24online/ Chances are they used an address in Thai. Did you use that? OK. They have: TM.6 address TM.30 address TM.7 address TM.8 address Previous TM.47 addresses Hand-drawn maps Probably four other documents These are all probably different, even though I've lived in the same place for 15 years. In my case I copied EXACTLY the ALL information, including ADDRESS as provided on ALL previous 90-day reports (old systems, in person and more recently, mail-in). Rejected. Until we understand why applications are being rejected, and from which offices, we're back to where we were with the previous systems. Guessing about what might or might not "work".
