  1. Can't address the best tariff for your app. Most multi-SIM offers here cover five (5) SIMs in total, 1- primary (the number), 4 - secondary; you can change the primary on the fly. DTAC Call, their WiFi Calling solution can 'manage' Five NUMBERS. https://www.dtac.co.th/en/info/dtac-call.html This can be done online or via their mobile app. https://www.lazada.co.th/tag/gps-tracker-sim/ I think DTAC, and hence the other providers might match it, offer 16 Kbps and 64 Kbps ("no leak") packages. I think that Go Plearn feature, can be applied for with a USSD Code, or maybe via the app. Maybe chat up DTAC, they are quite responsive on their chat app. This is cheapest option I could find, but I am sure there are others. ~ 130 baht per month. What's your budget?
  2. Two recent threads... https://aseannow.com/topic/1248502-spot-atk-test-at-cw/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1247025-all-visitors-at-the-immigration-bureau-chaeng-wattana-immigration-office-are-required-to-present-proof-of-negative-atk-test/
  3. Is your GF asking you to "help" pay this fee? thais can be drug tested, meth is the drug of choice and if they test positive they can buy their way out within 24 hours. Or enter the "legal" system, i.e. plead guilty, go to jail for xx months, get a royal pardon and serve half that term. The buy-out fee for meth is closer to 30,000 but this may depend on locale, for which most have to take out a loan, from the relative of a policeman of course. Not sure what scam your GF is running? Or what scam the sons might be running? Or what scam the police might be running?
  4. Any "new" coalition will be severely hobbled by the constitution du jour, the 20-year "Plan", the current administration's self-granted pre-pardons, the courts and the powers that be. Any new "government" would be subject to yellow protests as soon as they tried to do anything,

  6. In CMD, run this msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic
  7. I never tried this... go to 02:55 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Y_78eDEQyY I didn't have the Hardware and Devices option. Grr.
  8. Not to be confused with the Black Tigers, within the Special Services Division. The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) of the Royal Thai Police has set up a new SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) unit to replace its predecessor, the police commando unit, which was moved under the Ratchawallop Royal Guards Command. The new SWAT unit, officially named the Hanuman unit, after the monkey god Hanuman, the faithful knight and servant of god Rama in the Indian epic Ramayana, is currently staffed by 40 officers under the command of Pol Col Wichak Darom, superintendent of the support unit of the CSD. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/new-swat-unit-formed-at-the-csd-to-handle-special-situations/
  9. Day 1 positivity rates are ~ 2%. (Maybe 3%.) Day 5 are higher. Not all of those get shunted to hospit*ls. But some do have to quarantine in place. I'm not sure all your concerns can be mitigated, even with supplemental insurance. It remains a risk, but perhaps a manageable one? It's an individual choice, obviously. If not, wait. I have a neighbor who landed 13 Feb. tested positive on arrival, he's managed to get additional tests, 5,000 baht per, for Day 2, 3 and 4, while staying in his original hotel in quarantine. He's hoping for a positive test, with the primary physician's tacit support. He's asymptomatic. I think he's paying the much higher daily rate too.
  10. Canadian hitmen scoff at these "controls". thailand needs to get back to suckling at the teat of the foreign tourist. They might keep a pre-departure COVID negative test, vaccination proof and insurance in place. All the other stuff: Day 1 & DAY 5, Thaialnd Pass/Test&Go/QR, will be dropped. Insurance will be dropped a bit farther out.
  11. What do you mean? To purchase, register and start using the key? No. To register and use it with BofA? Yes, possibly. You'll need to be able to login to your account, which I think requires 2FA, and which, without a SafePass card might require SMS. You have a BofA account? You can log-in to it today, from Thailand? https://www.bankofamerica.com/security-center/online-mobile-banking-privacy/usb-security-key/ from my earlier post on this thread... Posted July 23, 2021 I registered my key with BofA; simple, easy, works. I needed to receive an SMS with a code, also had to enter my ATM card's PIN, to process the key registration but that's because I have 2FA turned on for log-in. You are directed to log-in when you start the key registration process. You may just need to enter the ATM card PIN? That's a guess. Or maybe nothing.
  12. Yes, I do, as recently as 3 ~ 4 weeks ago. Was just verifying that option still worked. I'm limited to $500 per day so got 16,000 THB, not an issue for me. The 150 THB fee is reimbursed, and the rate is the daily Visa rate. https://usa.visa.com/support/consumer/travel-support/exchange-rate-calculator.html
  13. What does "knock-out" mean, in techie terms? These devices no longer work? If so, how do you manage the fix? Booting in Safe Mode. Motherboard make and model and FW rev? Keyboard/mouse make model and rev? Try the dongle on a different USB port, try the MB USB ports first. In a similar situation I reverted to a wired keyboard and mouse - I spent at least 30 days trouble-shooting.
  14. The middle path? Don't purchase it on the observation day. Don't drink in public on the observation day. Feel free to drink at home any day.
  15. "Probably"? I haven't stepped through the Insurance purchase, does it ask about existing or pre-conditions? Do some mean insurance cannot be purchased? Assume she is healthy enough for travel, I would just use the U.S. passport, and Thaipass/Test&Go. Her U.S. passport hopefully has not also expired.
  16. No Bluetooth, just old-in-the-tooth. How Do I Use A Bluetooth Speaker With An Old Radio? Choosing a radio is the first step. The first step is to find a portable vintage radio that looks nice. The second step is to locate a Bluetooth speaker… The third step is to empty the radio of its components… The fourth step is to remove the Bluetooth speaker’s transmitter. The Bluetooth transmitter and radio loudspeaker must be connected in step 5…. The sixth step is to reassemble.
  17. We get the local ATM fee (150 - 220 THB) refunded to us by our ATM Debit card issuer. I get the credit, usually within 24 hours.
  18. Ah, OK. https://www.lazada.co.th/tag/internet-radio-receiver/ Who knew such a thing existed? How hard would it be to just tell us what he wants? What's next? A digital buggy whip?
  19. OK now that we know what you don't want, maybe you could share what it is that you do want? Can you describe a solution which you'll find acceptable?
  20. Do you have a BT soundbar with your TV? Where do you want to be able to listen? Portability? Bluetooth headphones and your android phone should be good? Portable bluetooth speakers?
  21. Ouch. The Bangkok "Hilton' will be re-christened? Bangkok Airways safety announcement will now take 7 1/2 minutes.
