Chonburi farmer shot multiple times at his salt field
mtls2005 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Salt Wells, not mining I guess, famous in some parts. Bo Kluea in Nan is one example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKEVN9Ch-FI Salt Farming is on the list of jobs prohibited to foreigners. Darn. Meth is a scourge here, surprised a 40 YO farmer is into it? And what was the motive? Seems like an angry response, esp. if beating after shooting. -
This is for a 3rd shot/booster? Which vaccines have you had? And when was the most recent one? DTAC registration also shows MBK as an option. And these requirements: What are the conditions for those who receive the 3rd dose vaccination? 3 needle stimulation for group 1 Astra+Astra formula complete 90 days Group 2 Sinovac or Sinofarm+Astra formula complete 90 days Group 3 Sinovac or S formula No Farm + Pfizer complete 90 days , group 4 Sinovac formula 2 injections or Sino Farm 2 injections, complete 30 days

Cannabis to Be Removed from Drug List
mtls2005 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News Headlines
This one. This parsing of the word "extract" is irrelevant. Even hard-core pro-cannabis thais are not that excited, and many remain confused. The "Act" which was "signed" with great fanfare yesterday. (Google Translation) -
Saudi Crown Prince Expected to Visit Thailand This Year

I think there must be dozens of motorcy-pedestrian collisions on the footpaths daily. Most probably go unreported, and injuries may be minor given the lower speeds. I'd like to see this act strictly enforced and punished: one warning/fine, second infraction: loss of license for 30 days and a significant fine, third time: motorcy impounded for 60 days (nd the police cannot ride it during impound). It's hard to hear the motorbike coming from behind, he's looking at his food delivery app/map, you're talking on the phone or listening to music - bang.

Some have reported success using a free service like Talkatone, and a VPN to register here for GV. I signed up for both of my GV numbers while in the U.S. Others have asked a friend/family member to register for them. Maybe even buy an UltraMobile SIM ($13 on eBay), have them activate it and register for a new GV number using the UM number, then mail the UM SIM here. For those moving permanently from the U.S to thailand recommend porting an existing mobile number out to GV

Taxes and fees run 10% - 20%. So $22 - $24. You can get a similar type of service with a pre-paid provider like UltraMobile or USMobile, both of which support WiFi calling. UltraMobile is $3/month (100 minutes/100 texts). But these don't provide Fi's global GSM roaming capabilities, or the 10 GB of monthly data. I often consider porting one of my Google Voice numbers over to Fi. Keep waiting for a decent promotion. VoIP rates are, generally speaking, governed by the termination fees in the called country. These vary by line type (fixed/mobile) and country. The calling from country is not a factor, other than say the local internet access fee structure.

This is the "cannabis sandbox" idea some governmental, or tourism, chap spouted last week. Dream on. This is a non-starter Yes, we all know about the island bars playing Reggae music, many of which had big bashes on Feb. 6. The issue the regime has is that there is no significant market for "real" cannabis. There's already a glut of flower going to waste as the medical/extraction for the GPO is over-supplied.

The issues with id.me seem focused on: privacy and security of biometric data long wait-times to successfully register that id.me could share biometric data with authorities inherent bias (racial) in facial recognition The first three are probably issues for any identification application? I think the pushback this week is in response to the facial recognition bit, which is a step too far for some/many/most? I don't understand why the facial recognition bit is vital to verifying identity, I mean it's not used subsequently to verify log-in. Maybe it would be used to re-verify identity in the case of a lost/forgotten credential or 2FA? Will be interesting to see if the government demands that id/me scrub their existing facial recognition data? Verifying identity is vital for governments in their ability to deliver services. Login.gov, the government's (GSA) own in-house secure sign-in service, has had challenges gaining traction with other government agencies. I successfully registered for login.gov a few years ago, and while I don't recall the procedures, it must have been quite easy. An older FOIA Login.gov list... https://cdn.muckrock.com/foia_files/2020/10/09/001084-Galbraith-RD-UR.pdf

I haven't followed this story at all, but have the circumstances surrounding his death (suicide or murder) been determined by the authorities? Was there more than one message spray-painted on the house? Is it weird that he used English? And not his native language or thai? The use of LPG cylinders and car tires seems elaborate. Does the widow stand to gain any other assets? Regardless, another sad death is another reminder of one's mortality.

Of this amount how much for number each month? Do you receive SMSes with this number? You should be able to do this. (I think only U.S. Skype numbers can receive SMS?) They have an unlimited plan for the U.S. as low as $2.99/month (Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S.) So maybe the number is $6.99 /month? Really? I think Skype has some fair use limits in hours per day, and hours per month. When you say "hundreds" you mean 101 hours? 200 hours? More? Have you run into any limits? I get the same services free with Google Voice, but would recommend Skype for some.

Yeah, but how do they do that if you called in via Skype (unless you also pay for a Skype phone number)? https://www.skype.com/en/features/online-number/ Some will ask for a phone number to call you back in case you are cut off, or they'll use your phone number of record. I'd just plan to call back.

Cannabis to Be Removed from Drug List
mtls2005 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News Headlines
Now do meth. Because controlling meth-crazed vehicle operators is working so well. The stoner bus driver will get fired for taking three days to drive the route between Bangkok and Chiang Mai. There are many, many, many issues that need to be addressed regarding cannabis normalization. DWS is not even in the top 100. That said, recreational cannabis will NOT be legalized here, at least not in the next 10 years. -
