  1. Most of the reports I've read on FB say that those who check unvaccinated get an ATK test - assuming they don't already have proof of an acceptable test. The OP's report seems to indicate that there are other factors - not just vaccination status, travel/family history that influence the Screener's options. Will wait to see other similar reports. https://aseannow.com/topic/1247025-all-visitors-at-the-immigration-bureau-chaeng-wattana-immigration-office-are-required-to-present-proof-of-negative-atk-test/page/2/#elControls_17132494_menu
  2. Yeah, the international treaty excuse is just that, an excuse trotted out every so often as a reason to go slower. https://news.un.org/en/story/2020/12/1079132 Drafts of this new Act have been published on thai media and pro-cannabis websites and FB pages. https://www.isranews.org/article/isranews-scoop/106161-isranews_new-8.html?fbclid=IwAR2olDqyISF9l4D8t0mFIdkgszqT0B5xfP67tbW9cDEBsB8rj1UTzjqOloY For the Draft Marijuana, Hemp Act, B.E..... proposed by Mr. Anutin and the Bhumjaithai Party MPs, divided into 11 chapters and 44 sections, specifying principles and reasons that people have the right to Take care of your health and encourage the best use of cannabis, hemp. Therefore, it should be supported to be used for research studies. Medical benefits, health, community lifestyle use as well as providing opportunities for production, sale, import, export or possession to promote agriculture, industry and the national economy; and to protect consumers to consume cannabis Inappropriate hemp which may be harmful to consumers It is appropriate to establish regulatory measures to control sales, advertising and consumption. to protect the health of a person therefore it is necessary to enact this Act It appears to cover "licensed" production. It still contains severe punishments for unauthorized growing, unauthorized use: 3 years and 300,000 baht. It does allow for home-growing but the exact details, process are still confusing. Some say you just need to notify government officials of your grow, no pre-approval, fees. Assuming the Act is passed it would take a further 120 days to come into law.

  4. Thanks. This is with the NEW appointment system, right? Have you attempted to change an existing appointment via the email link? If so, can you describe the process? Does the link lead back to a new appointment, which when made cancels the old appointment? Or does it lead to a specific change page, where you pick a new date/time slot?
  5. Does anyone understand the background here? The "friend" was stamped in to let's say Day 30, and had a ticket out on Day 30, took a PCR test on Day 28, presumably as a requirement to fly/arrive, and tested positive. Then what? Self-quarantined for 10 days, and quarantined for another 5 days? Took another PCR test (when)? Then flew out on Day 45? Is that correct? I assume the "friend" was aware of his permission to stay date? Or was at least working on a solution while quarantined? What are people expecting here? Departing Immigration just waives overstays? Based on what criteria? Probably better to start the message with: "For God's sake, don't overstay".
  6. Where do you live? Where did you get your previous doses? Fairly certain that while the interval in the U.S. is 5 months., it remains 6 months. here in thailand. I have been unable to register for a booster, am over 5 months, but less than 6 months. I think that's down to supply, and the govt wanting to get mRNA into sino/az arms first. Yes, others Pfizer 2X have reported getting a paid Moderna at less than 6 months. And others have reported getting Pfizer #3 at less than 6 months.
  7. Agreed but this isn't censorship. Agreed. But no one is not allowing the written word to be read, discussed argued. Wentzville School Board member Sandy Garber told the St. Louis Post Dispatch that she voted against the book to shield her children from obscenity. "By all means, go buy the book for your child," Garber said. School board members can be replaced, if the voters so choose. Heck, the books probably just moved from the school library to the public library? Missoura's always been weird state. Not southern, not northern. Blue then purple, then pink.
  8. Seems like it's more of a 99% chance he'll announce retirement soon. Tom Brady retirement decision seen as imminent: Those close to QB remain convinced he'll call it quits Numerous sources close to Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady remain convinced that the all-time great is preparing to retire from the game, with a formal announcement expected shortly. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/tom-brady-retirement-decision-seen-as-imminent-by-those-close-to-qb-who-remain-convinced-hell-call-it-quits/
  9. I wonder who's been renewing his thai passport? And his visa(s)? And does he have citizenship (and a passport) elsewhere? Austria (where most recent reports have him)? Monaco? Switzerland? Seems strange the paparazzi haven't snapped him recently?
  10. It's not really "book burning" - see silly meme above, nor is it "book banning". No books are being set alight, and you can still buy these books, and maybe even check them out of your local library. It's more about local school boards (elected) wading into the details of the curriculum. Is this best left to professionals? Probably. But what can you do? As long as they don't violate state and federal charters then I say let locals make these sorts of decisions. Now if they start dictating science (evolution, age of earth, "God's Design") edumacation then I'll have a different, stronger opinion. And if board members are appointed, ugh, then I have more questions.
  11. Good to know. Thanks. It used to be the policy that you needed a standing order, I am moderately certain, as I verified this in person circa 2018 when I established orders for both BBL and SCB. Maybe this has changed. I continue to call each month, and each month the rep. asks if I have an standing order. It certainly helps the OP as they have a Fidelity account, as this would make a transfer quite easy.
  12. What Is A Half Thai Kid? Are you proposing to cut vertically or horizontally? Sounds messy either way? And maybe illegal?
  13. I think it is MoneyGram or Wise (pka TransferWise) or Pennywise!!! Easily the scariest method to transfer 1 cent.
  14. Schwab does allow up to a $15,000 teller advance, per day. But best to review the terms and conditions on your Schwab Visa ATM Debit card. This is probably the "best" (yielding the most THB) method of bringing in larger quantities. Without any detail the OP should just use Wise. The "adding another account" lament doesn't really fly. Or do a SWIFT Wire Transfer from an existing account in the U.S. to Bangkok Bank here in thailand.
  15. It is a confusing time, with many, many, many moving parts. Even if a bill were read today, it would take 120 days to become law. So, sit back, relax for now. Best case: a thai citizen may be allowed, with government pre-approval and oversight, to grow a few authorized plants for their own medicinal use.
  16. One source? Frequency? Amount? Reasons: cash for living? to satisfy some Immigration requirement? I am fairly certain that you need to set up a standing wire transfer order for each bank (Bangkok Bank, SCB, etc.) BEFORE requesting a transfer via a phone call. It also requires My Voice verification, and an OTP sent via SMS (I use Google Voice). The standing wire transfer order must be endorsed with a Medallion signature, said to be unavailable here. So this must be set up when you are in the U.S. https://www.fidelity.com/bin-public/060_www_fidelity_com/documents/fidelity/outgoing-foreign-currency-wire.pdf I use this method monthly, Fidelity does not charge any SWIFT fee, nor does their intermediary bank (JP Chase Morgan/CHASEUS33), transfer $2,500 once each month ro satisfy my ext stay/ret/inc. It is equivalent to WISE, maybe ~ 500 baht "better" on ~ 80,000. Bangkok Bank does charge their sliding 200-500 baht fee. WISE is probably the simplest, easiest, most cost-effective?
  17. NFL Playoff Live Program Championship Late Round via True Visions. All games live on True Sports HD (666), NFL Network (672) Monday 31st January 03:00 AFC - Cincinnati Bengals vs Kansas City Chiefs 06:30 NFC line - San Francisco Forty Niners vs Los Angeles Rams
  18. Coops get approved seedlings from the government. There are, I want to say, ~8-ish approved strains for THC, and a similar number for CBD. These coops grow in greenhouses (bug/pollen control), afaik with no lighting supplements or depravation. That's why local landrace strains were chosen. There are indoor growing initiatives. Pathum, Roi Et
  19. No simple answer without understanding your entire situation. I think most would recommend that you calculate your potential tax liability, before making a decision. The mention of raises a red flag. did you file last year? do you have any tax withheld (SSA, other)? do you have any potential estate planning issues in the U.S.? did you receive all of your stimulus checks/payments, including stim #3 ($1,400)? Personally I'd always file. It's easy, simply, free, takes minutes.

  21. Not that this subject needs more confusion, but I think some are conflating the current grower's cooperative scheme, where groups form a coop to legally grow cannabis for the GPO, with a new scheme for individuals to grow small quantities for their own medicinal use. This coop program has been in place for a year plus. I think this requires the group to have 100,000 baht in hand, funding.
  22. You should be able to get a report each month from the receiving bank in laos. That will detail each step the transfer took, any fees (receiving bank) and the exchange rate used. If you've determined that the missing amount each month is exactly $15 USD then yes, the intermediary bank in NY, Standard Chartered USA is taking a $15 fee. This document is called a Credit Advice/Receipt here, and shows the amount transferred by the intermediary bank in USD. You can compare that amount to your total net benefit to determine the fee taken.
  23. What is the make and model of the laptop? Approximate age? Budget for SSD? Size of SSD? What is the laptop used for: top 5 applications? With little to no information I'd recommend a 2.5" SATA III 1TB, ~ 3,750 thb. Again, with no info it's challenging to understand if an M.2 drive is even feasible: slot, firmware.
  24. 011 (same same as +) 66 country code telephone number, drop the leading zero 081 is 81, 02 is 2 01166nnNNNnnnn
  25. Pretty weak "explanation". But I think the authors are thai so subject to self-censorship. thai justice system explained: In 1994, Chalor and his team had kidnapped Santi’s wife and son to force Santi into revealing his accomplices. Chalor ended up killing the wife and son. Chalor was sentenced to death in 2009 but he received a royal pardon which reduced his sentence by fifty years. He was later released after spending 19 years in jail. Kidnapping a woman and child, murdering a woman and child, 19 years.
