  1. So are you out on bail? Still in remand? Were you really arrested?
  2. Like arranged marriage? Every once in a while stories pop. 13 year old in Chiang Mai, and in the south, certain allowances are made for religious purposes, so maybe as young as 11.
  3. Yes, I too used my passport card (I think, maybe it was my Global Entry card?), my T-Mobile SIM, and a U.S. address also linked to my credit reports, also from thailand, didn't use a VPN. Worked for me. I use a FIDO security key as my 2FA first option. I can log in to my IRS (mySSA, and CBP) account.
  4. I realize the OP mentioned but I'm using the TurboTax Basic, $40 ($42.50 with sales tax). I like it, much better than TaxAct, IMO, which I used exclusively for quite a few years prior to this year. Packaging and pricing much clearer. https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/
  5. Meh. Amsterdam is said to be considering closing coffee shops, or relocating them, or restricting them only for citizens. Same-same red-light shops.
  6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nym3hGrQXP8 I just finished S05, so looking forward to what I presume is the last season. Yes, it's like a Roadrunner cartoon, and will be Axe-less, but I still like the dialog, characters, stories.
  7. And the person you wish to call also has the same app, and you have their ID (or telephone number!), and they have to have WiFi too. Duo may be headed for the bin so maybe be aware of that before committing too much time to it? You can register for Duo without a SIM, although that is also an option, by associating it with your Google Account.
  8. Great. Hope he's got a bracelet, and is monitored. Assume he's off to his new job: Security Guard? Gotta wonder how big this sexual abuse of minors/young adults problem is here, especially by those in positions of authority. Bad apple? Bad bushel? Rotten orchard?
  9. Yeah, let us know how long that call lasts once you relocate to another bar. Mobile providers here and elsewhere do offer WiFi calling but that does require a SIM/account to register and use. I think some could get by without a mobile phone account (eSIM or SIM), like the OP, while others cannot. I know I couldn't. Finally one does need a mobile telephone number to register for services like FB/Messenger, LINE, WhatsApp!, etc. So there's that.
  10. Based on what little info you've provided... this one: in Bangkok? Just search on the interwebs and FB, look for private hospitals. Google Private Hospitals Bangkok Moderna Some have reported success at https://www.praram9.com/en/ You can also try the grey-market where folks are trying to sell their Moderna reservations.
  11. Assuming you can report by mail, and are temporarily away from your address of record, simply put the package together, then mail it from any location in the window. Just need to find a post office. Obviously on-line reporting is the first choice, but that can be iffy although the new web system seems a bit more dependable than the previous system(s).
  12. Seems like the OP used his one call to post here, then vanished into the ether. Tsk, tsk.
  13. Looks like dr. yong is sporting the "official" haircut these days.
  14. I have to admit I was, and remain, concerned about id.me and their stranglehold on my details. That said, I did my research, and made an informed decision that the benefits outweigh the risks. And I continue to re-evaluate that decision. I'm not certain I can evaporate my account and be sure the details aren't still available. The constant barrage of promotional emails - bordering on Ron Popeil territory - are not exactly inspiring. Was there fraud, breakage and mis-directed spending in the various stimulus programs put forth in the wake of the COVID outbreak? D'oh. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/12/05/tom-bradys-company-tb12-received-more-than-960000-ppp-loan.html But I guess I'm ok with that given the severity of the crisis and the need for a timely response. And I'm not sure that's related at all to the security of my details on id.me? Maybe a separate topic where political issues can be discussed?
  15. In the old days he used to pen his own tunes. Oh how the mighty have fallen. The Thai Junta's 'Happiness' Song Is a Hit! (But Who'd Dare Say Otherwise?) https://time.com/2851467/thai-coup-junta-happiness-song/
  16. That sounds like something a paranoid antisocial type would say.
  17. The ministry of public health and the minister of justice are trying to sort out which parts of the avocado are legal to consume. Right now you can only eat the skin, and pit. And parts of the tree. The jury is still out on the mesocarp. A committee meeting is scheduled to sort through this thorny issue. The pm has reluctantly allowed citizens to have toast though.
  18. Of course the FCC probably should have done a little R & D BEFORE auctioning off the spectrum. AT&T and Verizon fell behind T-Mobile in 5G deployment, and are racing to catch up. T-Mobile's spectrum is outside the interference bands in question. All that said, tempest teapot. So is 5G now off the hook for causing COVID (in conspiracy circles that is)?
  19. I think this issue has been cleared up and airlines are flying to the U.S. again, and landing at or near their destination airport. https://www.khaleejtimes.com/aviation/uae-us-travel-emirates-announces-a380-flights-to-select-destinations-after-5g-rollout-delay
  20. I used my Fidelity Visa ATM debit card for an ATM withdrawal at an AEON ATM today. Success. <I hadn't done this in eons.> FWIW, AEON still charges 150 THB. Fidelity reimburses this charge.
  21. Maybe simpler to follow her on FB and IG? Ya know, where she shares all these photos. Or you could IM her, I'm sure she wouldn't be creeped out at all. Now if she's on OF...carry on. Looks like she can carry a tune, too. In a completely unrelated story, a young thai police Lt. died in a mysterious traffic accident today. He died after hitting the back of his head on the steering wheel, in what authorities are calling "not that unusual". The blow to the back of his head showed an impression of yawallaC, in what is often referred to as "the old five iron". The Lt. had made complaints about a police pretty pedalling police promotions in phrom phong.
  22. A story as old as time, police general's side salad is a go between (bag lady) for the marketing of promotions. Someone paid her for his promotion, she kept the cash (she's protected) or otherwise failed to deliver ("pay more now", "wait for next promotion cycle"), now the payer wants their money back. none of this is true, pure fiction of course.
  23. Filipino car thieves warrant an interpol red notice? I found this hard to believe but... https://www.interpol.int/en/How-we-work/Notices/View-Red-Notices and then a search of Nationality, Philippines doesn't show these folks, maybe because they've been nabbed?
  24. I can answer my question now. New 4K TV delivered yesterday. Disney +/Hotstar - cast from phone to Chromecast (CCGTV), or cast from phone directly to TV, all UHD/4K content looks mahvelous. Netflix (have UHD account) - cast from phone to Chromecast, check, cast directly to TV, check, run Netflix app on TV, check, run Netflix app on Chromecast, check. All UHD content looks awesome. 4K looks "fake" until you get used to it. TrueVisions (Coax) maxes at 1080. Youtube 4K works fine as expected. Same same cast from phone to CC, cast to TV, natively using YT app on TV. AIS Play - https://www.ais.th/play/en/samsung_app_store.html still experimenting, installed app on TV (from Samsung apps), so can cast from phone or run natively on TV
