  2. I thought that you said you're leaving for the U.S. in six days? And that you're +4 months after #2, so just get a booster in the U.S. in ~ 3 weeks? (There are some regional constraints, and appointments are becoming a necessity in some locales, so maybe research things when you arrive.)
  3. Can you share any details on this "message"? You received it from??? AS a result of ???? And what is your vaccination history? It sounds like you don't yet qualify for a booster.
  4. Except. However. The thai constitution du jour is littered with rights, rights which are severely limited, and subject to the interpretation of a regime and it's puppet constitutional court. In essence citizens have whatever "rights" the regime decides it has on any given day. There is no freedom of speech if the regime deems that speech a threat to the status quo. But that's not what this kerfuffle is about. This is about the foundation of the thai social contract, which conveys more equality to those higher up the pyramid.
  5. Pfizer booster is +5 months now in the U.S. Look up. Earlier post, QueQ, Vaccination Centers, big red arrow is Thai-Japan Stadium in Din Daeng.
  6. This is why you can trust the public polls on issues, people, topics, etc. here. People know they'll get in trouble if they are honest. Hence you end up with the fake smiles. And results like, 112% of the people love prayut. You'd think thai people know this but maybe the offenders in this case are hiso, or foreign edumacated.
  7. Can we use this figure for our tax returns? I'm thinking the IRS has their own figures, but not sure.
  8. Are these numbered levels, i.e. "level 4" different than the colored levels, e.g. "dark red"?
  9. Brilliant. Will be fashioning this unique observation into a motivational poster for the break room. "Hang in there"
  10. Yeah, this one exposes the frailties of thai-style "governing". I'm sure there is a thai colloquialism involving animals to explain this effect? For the easy stuff the pm simply issues orders. "pm orders that Bangkok's traffic problems must be solved in 30 days.". For complicated stuff a committee, meeting, proclamation with gazetting is required. Given that airlines ultimately enforce the daily "rules" with pre-departure screening, I'm not sure a CCSA meeting today, with a potential decision on a stoppage date, eight days hence maximum, is that challenging a decision. So you're absolutely right. Pick a date between 8 and 15 January. If in doubt get a monkey to throw a dart.
  11. What was odd about it? Without any details it's challenging to understand your encounter, or to answer your question. Way back when, there were some "hidden" limits re: number of visa-exempt entries and total duration in a period, but those have been halted since Q1 2020. Were you interrogated by more than the initial officer? Were you moved to a different area? Who did most of the talking? I can't imagine talking to an IO for 60 minutes. Why did the IO raise the issue of a "retirement visa" (maybe they meant an extension to stay based on retirement?)? Who started talking about retirement? You, or the IO?
  12. This is kind of like saying water is wet. D'oh. Until the situation approaches that in say, the U.S., where you can stroll less than 1 Km, walk in, and choose one of three vaccines for free, thailand will always be short on vaccines. We hardly need a "prominent" thai doctor for that brilliant diagnosis. The regime MUST free up the private sector to purchase vaccines and sell them. Their reluctance to do so to date borders on criminal. Private health care is a thing here so this should hardly be a tall ask. And this frees up more vaccines for others. There is a lot of Moderna, in hand now, more due soon and more order(s) to be placed (not yet done AFAIK). There is 20 mm Pfizer on order due Q1 2022 (this quarter, Jan - Feb). But now is the time to order more, at least 20 mm Pfizer per quarters Q2, Q3 and Q4. And allow private health care to order vaccines, as they do for all other medications. The 60 mm AZ "ordered" for 2022 is a waste.
  13. Seems to do everything except slice bread? Try a different wife location?
  14. There is no reason to discontinue COVID extensions throughout 2022, unless something drastic transpires. I guess if they put big joke back in charge of immigration I might change my forecast.
  15. Pent up demand from holidays and omicron surge. What can you do? Keep trying. I made it through QueQ yesterday for Din Daeng. Wide open through 31 Jan.
  16. MoPH Bang Sue True, AIS, DTAC https://www.ais.th/vaccinesforthais/ BMA Din Daeng QueQ app
  17. Look, not sayin' it's easy for thai policemen to get dodgy loans with little collateral, but these three BiB each got 850,000 baht loans. For what? Who knows? Detailing?
  18. Maybe theatrical release + 45 days? Early February? Disney+ and HBOmax?
  19. Seems like perfect (storm) time to open the nightclubs, catch that next COVID wave perfectly like March 2021.
  20. The Vig at police-operated gambling dens is probably down as a result of COVID?
  21. This one is my best guess based on published info. Practically it may be up to the screener. Prayut did mention that all on-site employees must have an ATK test on the first day (4 Jan) and be tested every three days. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of taking preventive measures after New Year like wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining social distancing, using ATK tests, and working from home for 14 days. People who need to work on-site must take ATK tests before going to work and again every three days for assurance. He assured that the government will keep a close watch on the situation and consider appropriate measures to ensure the safety of the Thai people.
