  1. This week I had to go in person to report 90 days to Pathum Thani.

After get sequence number waited outside. Just 3 people waiting. Waited little bit only when my number was called.

IO collected passport, TM47 and old 90D report and told me to wait outside the little office (A).

Came back within 1 minute with new 90D report attached to my passport.

I already told IO that online is not working for me, and asked if they can fix this.

IO browsed thru few pages in my passport, and said "all ok now". 555.

Will see next time when try online, but guess will go in person again in October.

  2. Interesting...

All foreigners living in Thailand as non-immigrants will in the future have to prove they have insurance coverage of at least US$100,000 (three million baht) against Covid-19.
The proposal was approved in principle by the cabinet yesterday and Traisuree Taisaranakul, deputy spokeswoman for the government, said it would apply to all holders of the one-year, non-immigrant visa (NIV).
NIVs are awarded in four categories: marriage, work, business and retirement.
The new rule follows an amendment to the regulations approved by the cabinet in April last year.
At present, holders of the NIV must be insured to the tune of just 40,000 baht for out-patient treatment, or 400,000 baht for in-patient treatment at a hospital.
Future NIV applicants must produce proof they have taken out the far higher insurance against Covid-19 and if they are eligible to state-sponsored welfare or insurance, the same minimum coverage applies.
Those seeking to renew their NIV are free to buy the insurance from abroad.
If they have access to state-sponsored insurance, they must submit documentary proof certified by the Bangkok-based embassies of their respective nations or by authorised official of the Foreign Ministry of their native countries.
If someone is denied the requisite Covid-19 insurance because they are deemed to be in an at-risk group, they must present the rejection document as well as proof of financial security, bank account or other health insurance valued at a minimum US$100,000.
Ms Traisuree said that since the cabinet had approved the new rule in principle the next step would be for the Immigration Bureau to publish full details and make it official.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry will also work to improve the NIV application procedure while the Public Health Ministry and the Interior Ministry will be in charge of modifying related regulations and telling the public about them.
Ms Traisuree said the current NIV regulation was flawed as foreign nationals aged over 70 could not buy insurance in Thailand, causing them to be disqualified from remaining long-term in the kingdom.

  3. Early this month, I saw a yearly retirement extension from Pathum Thani, which had a paper attached to the passport with the following:

    QUOTE

    Retirement Visa

After you extend your retirement visa, you must submit immigration

    1. Your passport

    2. Bank Book 800.000 THB or pension certificate

for update your stay permitted on dd-mmm-yyyy (3 months after the extension date)

    and

Bank Book 400.000 or pension certificate

for update your stay permitted on dd-mmm-yyyy (6 months after the extension date).

(If not, you must get visa cancellation.)

    UNQUOTE

I took a picture of it for my files, so text is accurate.

I have a visa and a Certificate of Entry (CoE). But my fight with Lufthansa has been cancelled and I've been moved to Qatar Airways arriving on the same day at about the same time. Will I be able to use my existing CoE or do I have to go through the whole CoE process again?

You should inform the embassy about the change.

CoE's I have seen do mention arrival flight number.

You must request a new CoE when arrival flight has changed.

    to fredob43,

Yes,  I am married to a Thai Lady as well.

But I did not want to stay here with a marriage visa and to show her I did not marry her to get a visa in Thailand. That's why I have this Non-O Retired visa with 800 000 THB in my account.

AND  I HAVE SEEN  the Videos on YouTube  about  quarantine.  You can't open doors or windows and you have to eat when they give you food ( no refrigator ) AND    after 7 days you have write to go out to fresh air ( a balcony) for  45  minutes. Exactly the same as prison. I haven't been to prison in my life and I am not going to be in prison either. Forget it.

WE SHALL SEE WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DECIDE ON 30 SEPTEMBER.

PROBABLY 6 MONTHS MORE AS THE BANGKOK DOCTOR SAYS.

If you have a good look there are a lot of videos showing nice accommodation. SQ and ASQ.

It all depends on how much money you want to spend, and if you really want to return to you family.

I have seen ASQ with good menu choices. Menu changes each 2nd day. Snack are brought to the room in the afternoon. Balcony with comfortable chairs. I could stay at this place for 15 days, if I really wanted to return to my family. Even at 70.000 thb for the package.

Go cheap and you end up what you describe. Spent some more, and you are comfortable.

I did not leave Thailand when pandemic started and I am still in Thailand.

An Elite visa is reported to cost 500K and is good for 5 years.  That's about $15k dollars. Divided by 5 years is about $3k/year (US dollars). I don't know if a yearly fee is on top of this on top of this. I don't know the details, but if someone needs to stay it's a possibility.

Maybe if you research it you'll find out something different, but this is my understanding.

I was referring to finnsk OP calculations. No yours.

FYI: No yearly fee for 5Y Elite visa.
