  1. Thai language books for the students' regular Thai Language classes typically have a word list at the back of the book. Kids often will also be given five to ten or so words per week to practice writing in their notebooks. Whether these words are 'official' as in country-wide designated vocabulary terms for each grade level, I cannot say. Since majority of schools' Thai language based textbooks are sourced from the same place, I suspect there is quite a bit of uniformity across, at least, the government schools, and probably many of the bilingual schools and EPs. Foreign English language based textbooks however are sourced on a school-by-school basis depending on how good the publisher's sales pitch (brown envelope) was at any given time or year. An exception to this would be in cases where a school chain is large enough to be able to enlist their foreign teaching staff to author and then mass produce their own in-house English language textbooks. That keeps costs down and in theory translates into lower more competitive tuition fees.
  2. I realise that curriculums for secondary school ICT / Computers will vary somewhat across the different groups of schools here in Thailand. Thai MOE standard curriculum, adapted bilingual school curriculum, EP school curriculum, British/American international curriculums etc. From ASEANNOW's forum members' own experiences, either through having children studying here or through being a foreign (or Thai) teacher: What do the kids actually learn? Predicting MS Office applications, Adobe Photoshop, and other popular applications. How about HTML? Do the kids in some schools get the chance to learn coding in languages such as, for example's sake, C#, Python, or Java etc. ? Thank you for any replies.
  3. Good idea. Similar to depositing 1 baht before entering. Just make some account transaction on that day. So long as, of course, it's an account that does update instantly such as a checking or regular savings account - not one of the slower fixed deposit type accounts.
  4. Yeah I'm going to get the "letter" right early in the morning from the Bank branch inside the complex. Got the 6 month statement today though since it's less than 30 days before the application. Will make a 1 baht deposit on the day of application so that bank book can be updated to the day. Thanks for the responses. Very helpful.
  5. I'm having trouble finding information pertaining to the validity of the proof of savings (400k THB) bank statement. Such statement, when applying at CW for the extension, should not be dated prior to 30 days? 60 days? Thanks for any advice.
  6. I did second guess myself after hitting the 'submit reply' button. I was making food in the kitchen shortly after, and wondered to myself whether my comment had the possibility of being misconstrued (this can easily happen on the forum). I should watch the wording of my messages in future before pulling the trigger; I was making a generalised comment/suggestion - it was not meant to imply that you as an individual have or would go 'over the top' in the forums after a beer - but anybody. I can see how my message could be interpreted in the way you did though. These forums are full of 'personal' slights and digs which, quite rightly, are defended. You thought that my reply was one such 'personal poke'. Cheers and happy posting!
  7. Since the switch from the original Thailand-only ThaiVisa over to the broader ASEANNOW multi-country format, I have also noticed changes relating to the underlying mechanics/back-end of the system. Editing and deleting posts seems to be restricted. The forum now serves as an archive which is 'written in stone', a little like how facebook retain all the data even when an account is deactivated/removed. The key purpose/rationale for this? Open for speculation. So it would be advisable not to go 'keyboard warrior' during times of lowered inhibition such as when drunk!
