  1. I thought I was going to spend more each month is the short answer! There are valid reasons.
  2. Hi all - hope you can help. I've been on the Retirement permission to stay using the 800k Thai Bank balance initially and 9 months into the monthly Pension transfer of minimum 65k. Using Bangkok Bank for the 800k & Wise for the monthly transfers. All is going well for the annual renewal process. Over the last 9 months, the Bangkok Bank Savings Account has slowly creeped up to 1M. I had been transferring more than 65k, paying the Condo Rent and Wise Account top ups for Grab Food / Transport from my UK Bank etc. My question is, can I transfer the Balance above 800k from the Bangkok Bank Savings Account to my Wise Account? This would be around 200k. I will always have above 800k in the Bangkok Bank and won't go below this figure until after the 1st Renwal Q1 next year. Will this cause any issues with Immigration? I'll also stop using my UK Bank account to pay for things to avoid this reoccurring! Thanks CB
  3. Just a quick thank you @ubonjoe I went to the Chiang Mai IO today and successfully moved from the Non Imm O to Retirement 12 month permission to stay. As always, the advice provided made the process as hassle free as possible. No additional docs were requested and your master list was spot on - thank you again. I've now moved from the Tourist via extension / Non Imm O to Retirement and saved myself a few quid in the process. If not for the excellent advice and guidance provided by yourself and @Tanoshi , I would have thrown some money at an Agent to manage it so thanks again. Your expertise and time spend on here is very much appreciated. Stay safe.
  4. Great Ubonjoe - thanks for confirming and sharing the TM7 form. I'll start to pull it all together again and go to IO next week to progress.
  5. Thanks Ubonjoe - much appreciated. So pretty much the same documentation I have already provided to obtain the Non Imm O from the Tourist Visa (TV) apart from the TM7 extension application form. This includes the hand drawn map which I traced from Google maps! They already have copies of these documents on my records at Chaing Mai IO. Do I really need to provide them again? I can understand the need for the updated bank letter re balance & proof of the correct transfer method etc but passport photo page, visa, entry stamp, TM6 & house map.........I know what your answer is going to be! The joys of Immigration. I asked the question I have posed on this thread at the end of the Non Imm O process to the lovely ladies at Chaing Mai IO and was advised the 3 documents I have listed. Is it possible to download the TM7 extension application or can I only obtain this from IO? I dont want to turn up on the day with all of the other documents and the TM7 is asking for something I don't have with me! CB
  6. Hi all - I'm currently on the Non Imm O (3 month) visa and will be moving to the Retirement Permission To Stay next week after my 45 days on the Non Imm O have elapsed. My question / clarification required is regarding the documentation IO need me to provide. My understanding is as follows: - Passport - Thai Bank Account showing 800k balance for last 2 months - I have this with a balance of Above 800k from mid December 2021 - TM30 I will go to my Bangkok bank on the morning at opening time and get my Saving Account entries refreshed so that it shows above 800k on the morning I go to the Chiang Mai IO. Is there anything else required? Is the process completed on the same day or do I submit my documents and get told a date to come back? Any assistance, as always, is greatly appreciated. CB
  7. Hi all - I have a query re the 800k requirement. I've successfully moved from a Tourist Visa to Non Imm O and end of next week I will have reached the 45 days on Non Imm O and will therefore progress the Retirment Permission To Stay activities to finalise my move to a longer term 'visa'. I have already deposited 800k (FTT method via Wise) in my recently opened Bangkok bank Savings Account. I also opened a Fixed Account with Bangkok bank at the same time. My question is - when can I move the 800k from the Savings Account to the Fixed Account. I was thinking I should wait until the Retirement Permission to Stay 12 months has been granted by Chiang Mai IO. I dont want to mess up the 800k requirements for this key step and of course renewal in 12 months time. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm also transferring a min. 65k each month into the Savings Account so I can reduce the 800k next year. Thanks in advance.
  8. Brilliant Ubonjoe - thank you for clarifying. Much appreciated once again.
  9. Hi folks - can you please assist. I arrived on a Tourist Visa into Bangkok for 7 day quarantine on 22nd October last year. I have been to Immigration and got the 30 day extension. I've since moved to a Non Imm-O for the purposes of the Retirement Permission To Stay 12 month which I'll progress in a few weeks once my 45 days of being on the Non Imm-O have elapsed. My question is, when do I need to start the 90 day reporting? I perhaps niavely thought it would be 90 days after the 30 day extension but it came up in conversation last night and my friends thought otherwise! As of today, I will have been in Thailand for 101 days! Have I just cost myself a few 1000 THB in fines........any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.
  10. My experience must be the exception then. I had previously booked the 14 day package prior to it changing to 7 days. My ASQ (SHA+ hotel) in Bangkok pro-actively contacted me to change to the 7 Day Package and organise the refund / international transfer back to my UK bank account. Very impressed and amount refunded was very fair. The small print does make it clear that there would be a charge of 1000 THB for any refund! Apart from that, all good!
  11. An additional £25 in Scotland & £125 for the RT-PCR test. There are cheaper options (C. £75-85) but this was the closest / most convenient to meet my timescales.

Just trying to point out that your earlier post doesn't reflect the reality on the ground within all nations of the UK hence why I pointed out that the issue lies solely in England. Jump on a train, bus or into a taxi and I can guarantee that the vast vast majority of people will comply with the laws and regulations for Scotland and will be wearing a mask. Don't expect the taxi to move if your not. Go into a shopping centre, supermarket etc it will be the same. Compliance is high. You may feel it is your rite of passage (I assume that is what you meant) and I would have no issue with you using UK when it is factually correct. As I said, your post should say England not UK.

You mean England not UK. England.
  14. The ASQ in Bangkok is in a SHA+ hotel which is why I said what I said. Glad we cleared it up!
  15. We are at cross purposes somehow. I’m doing ASQ 7 days on arrival on the 22nd October in Bangkok at an SHA+ hotel. My CoE was issued by The Thai embassy in London.
  16. I arrive into Bangkok 22nd October. Flights, Insurance, PCR test, SHA+ package & condo deposit 1 month all paid out weeks ago so no point cancelling. Just need to take the hit!
  17. If I was you, I would be contacting the SHA+ you have booked and ask them to move you to the 1 Day Package and request a refund for the previous reservation. Once confirmed, I would follow the Thailand Pass process when available for your 12th Nov trip. You have plenty of time, why take any chances and secure your refund in the meantime. Words from someone who is travelling on 21st Oct and doing 7 Day SHA+ in Bangkok!! Probably one of the last but had to make plans and who knew when they would eventually move to No Quarantine! The joys.....
  18. I've bought a small hip flask and was going to do the same but with some nice rum from duty free. Use it during my twice weekly trip to the 'pub' whilst watching live sport and playing a few games of pool for a few hours. I'll keep the green tea trick in hand if my regular trips to the toilet for a sip from my hip flask raise eyebrows!
  19. Yes, in the same way Phuket / other 'sandbox' schemes are without quarantine.........so stay within designated districts within one of 9 citiies on arrival. After your 7 days of 'no quarantine' you can onward travel within Thailand if you didn't fail the 2 covid tests. Pre travel, CoE, SHA+, Insurance, PCR test still required. So No Quarantine v. Quarantine difference is you can either go to an island WITHOUT quarantine or go to a district or two within 9 cities and roam within designated areas only staying in approved hotels only and a dialy check-in / 2 covid tests. Still a lot of paperwork and hassle but better than being stuck in a hotel room for 14 now 7 days. Will this attract tourists on masse? Depends how 'open' the designated areas are and whether bars / restaurants are allowed to sell alcohol. If not, you will see similar numbers to Phuket.
  20. If CoE isn’t approved or you fail the PCR test the SHA+ is refunded. It is specifically stated on the SHA+ reservation. Who did you check this with?
  21. This is the best reply. From what I've read, the 1st November touted as no quarantine etc is simply districts within 9 provinces which you will be able to roam within. Referred to as 'Blue zones'. My take is a Phuket area but on the mainland. You will still have SHA+, testing, insurance & CoE. Whether these go ahead as 'planned' will depend on many factors, least of which, is vaccine rollout to hit 70% which is unlikely but a lot can change in a few weeks within Thailand so best to watch this space. I would make your travel plans based on a 'sandbox' either on Phuket or the mainland for 7 days and anything less than this would be a bonus. If you aren't prepared to accept this and want to hold off, I personally think that could be quite a long wait.....
  22. Breathe Bruno.......thanks for pointing out the thread was in the Pattaya board. Clicked on the link in the daily email and didn't realise.
  23. I see you arrived 6th Oct. Did you have a CoE for the 14 day SHA+ or 7? I arrive later in October but obtained my CoE when the quarantine was 14 days. The SHA+ hotel has amended my booking to the 7 day package but I've just received an email from them requesting my CoE (which I've already sent to them). I hope they aren't expecting an amended CoE for 7 days!
