Hi guys . . .
Thai ladies seem to like to give the silent treatment . . .
I know everything's ok again when I go to get ready for bed
and she's put toothpaste on my toothbrush
What does your lady do?

Reason's a new one on me! I started with and Atari and C Lab Notator, on a computer with half a meg and no hard drive, and believe me, it still knocks spots of a modern PC with it's dedication to the midi time clock, so very accurate compared with what I have to use now. The serial port PCs were also much better than the USB only option available now
Good luck, at least here you have access to unlimited 'almost free' knock off music software at Pantip!!!

I recently took a rural train trip and stood at the front of the train next to the driver. There were numerous 'sound the horn' signs, for the train driver upon approaching even the smallest dirt track crossing the rails, he seemed to be sounding it nearly every 30 seconds or so . . . so it probably wasn't the train's fault . . .

A new empty wallet to replace the old empty one I had before!

The only reason I know this is we bought a puppy for that, and the neighbours were horrified enough at the price to say 'you could get a buffalo at SanPatong market for that'
-
I was told they go for around 7000 bht in Chiang Mai (SanPatong market)

I have an easy one, have kept it for years. Drink two drinks a day (one large Leo counts), no more, no less. Yes, I am boring.
One large Leo counts as one or two?

This year . . .
I'd like to be a better person. . . not feeling that great about myself looking back over the last year.
What 'first step' advice would you give to start me off?
(I don't want to join any religious/self help/guru/ type group.)

I still can't understand why anyone would want to spend an evening/afternoon/anytime with just Men?

I removed one nasty flame and several posts quoting it. I usually put a moratorium on lowering the boom on people at this time of year, and it just expired, so please, try to keep it civil.
Sorry, wasn't meant to be a flame, just my honest opinion,
seems a shame that that's not permitted.

I love taking my 5 month daughter out, everywhere we go Thai people, male and female, make a fuss, coo, tug her toes, take photos, smile, laugh and compliment us on our cute (but chubby) little bundle of joy - I take it as a great compliment, I love the social interaction in a society
not afraid to 'touch a child' at risk of being screamed at for being a Paedo! One drunk guy that kissed her left my wife a bit narked . . . but that was only one in a thousand happy encounters.

Our little bundle was born at Lanna 5 months ago
by C section, Dr Udom. Everything was fine and efficiently handled.
Waiting times are shorter in the afternoon, but may
be complicated by deliveries taking place at the same time.
Dr Udom has been there 30+ years, speaks English and has
a good sense of humour (Useful when dealing with the likes of me!)
Another plus is that the hospital canteen serves the best Club Sandwich in Chiang Mai . . .
Good luck

PS Lanna is another branch of the RAM group

So:
Put money in account 01 Jan, Mid Feb request 60 day extension?, sometime in March start 1 year extension process?
OR
apply for the extension now?
David
-
I thought I remember reading that if the cash hadn't been in long enough, then immigration
just hold up the visa extension until the money was sufficiently seasoned .
No this is certainly not the case! (I speak from experience at BKK Imm - was 5 days short of requirement)
Go for the 60 days extension, the only additional cost is 1,900B for the application.
opalhort
I remember being given an extra week sometime within the last 2 years. Would this have 'used up'
the once only 60 days, and how can I check if so?

It might look like a typo if you read the post without engaging the little grey cells!

Extension runs out March 1
Cannot get 400k until Jan 1
what problems will this cause on my application to extend based on marriage to a Thai?
thanks
David

Yes, but for 400bht I bet you didn't have to listen to My Way by Ol Blue eyes

Beer! I'm guessing I'm NOT their target customer as I thought the beer Very expensive! NO large bottles,
NO local draught beer and a SMALL beer was 60/70 baht.
Are you seriously sniffing at 60 baht for a beer in a pub?!!!
It's not a case of sniffing, but questioning the statistics.
A small local beer in TRL that costs 25% of minimum daily wage in a regional city in a third world country - Yes, let's sniff a little!
that's about £1.10 sterling, a pint of local beer in the UK (London - Wetherspoons) one of the world's more expensive cities
is as low as £1.45, around 80 baht, about 3.5% of the UK daily minimum wage.
