Hi Chas
Can Brits and Thais come along for the party? (Won't be wearing Orange!)
Is there a cover charge or anything for the food?
Thanks

I'd read somewhere that retirees were required
to pass a 'curmudgeonly old bugger' test before
getting their visa stamps. . . .
You should be ok then Dusty

Why join? why not just play the field, after all this IS Thailand!
Stardome is just 420 baht for 9 challenging holes + caddy!
I think the Gymkhana Club is similar in price, I'll check when
I play there later this week....
I am the worlds almost worst golfer by the way, go round a 9 holer in 72+!

It would be great to have a pedestrianised area as in many western cities where you could sit out and have a meal, stroll up and down street markets, have street entertainers etc, a 'nice' area with the quality tourist shops to mooch in. Somwhere where you can look around, instead of at your feet and whatever the pavement is or isn't doing!

Hi there . . .
I am Chiang Mai's worst golfer, and was wondering if anyone else of a similar
calibre is interested in the odd impromptu game sometime. When I used to play with my old buddy,
the one who lost the fewest balls was the winner! Or we'd play matchplay rules so we didn't have to use both hands
to keep score on any one hole!
So...if interested then let me know! At least I'll make you look good!

Afternoon all
If anyone reading this that is going to Tuskers Quiz night tonight
and has any old jam jars they don't want/need, I'd be very grateful
to take them off your hands (want to make jam, but no jam jars!)
Thanks

Just to be the forum <deleted> . . . .
but doesn't your work permit specify at which
Starbucks you have to work?

There is a citrus nursery out here in Mae Jo with good selection and ok prices. Although I haven't been in there for a couple of years, I saw it in passing not long ago and it appeared to be still open. Drive out the 1001 through Mae Jo, toward Phrao, past the San Sai hospital/Mae Rim road, about half or 1 Km on the left.
We've also bought half-a-dozen lemon-saplings, from the organic farm, at the back of Prem Center. They called them "Hawaian Lemons', which I guess reflects where they reached Thailand from, but are actually what I'd call Mediterranean-lemons.
Hi there . . . .
would love details on how to get lemon saplings please

We had our house warming at the weekend. I did on a couple of occasions say to my Thai family members “We don't use the F word here” (even tought we do) I'm David, and my second cousin in law twice removed is Ian, but Falang it was and Falang it is!
How do you refer to other falangs to Thai people?

I have a yellow book for my Mother in Laws house,
also have been renting for a year but in wife's name.
I guess there has been a build permit . . .
is it just a case of sigining on the dotted line for ownership as I'm sure the builder will have no idea
and neither will my wife!

Morning all
The builder's coming over this morning to do the house documents for our new house.
Is there any reason why these can't be in my name? The wife owns the land.
Cheers
