I live in a lovely 3 bed house with cable t.v, high speed internet, phone and large garden set in a very large secured village with gym, tennis courts, large swimming pool and excellent restuarant in the Hang Dong area in Chiang Mai.
I want to leave before the year contract runs out but don't want to loose my deposit so have to find somebody to move in.
It's amazing value as i only pay 9000 baht a month and i can send photos if anybody wants to see it.
Does any body want to rent this in September-October or know anybody else that does.
Any help is appreciated.
That sounds awfully like WangTan . . . if it is, the gym is no longer open . . . Great Moo Baan though otherwise

Hi Guys..
could really do with some advice/help (Ching Mai)
Someone's dumped a very old and very sick and in pain
Labby in our Moo Baan. He's deteriorating a lot this week.
He won't get in the car so I can take him to the vets.
I don't want to manhandle him as he has a lot of swelling lumps in his abdomen/groin
and also now some open sores that appeared overnight.
He drinks a little but eats almost nothing and is going to die
but I'd like to do something to put him out of his obvious misery.

we will be missing for 3 months starting July.
It really is a dilemma

If you still have time
open a Nationwide flex account
get their ATM card and use that in the Numerous holes in the wall
(Correct plural?)
I'm currently getting 63.35 Baht to the pound with no additional charges from NW
Enjoy . . .

Hi
Myself (38 years) and my husband (46 years) are moving out to Phuket July / August time to retire (from the UK). We will be taking out Health Insurance but not sure if it is best to get it in the UK or wait until we are in Thailand?
We would appreciate any advise and also any recommendations as to which company to go with (only really know BUPA).
Hopefully I have provided enough information? If not, please let me know.
Thanks in advance
RoyalJenny
A month before you get sick is the best time to buy.

Hi Guys . . . weird to be in a Phuket forum for a change!!!!!
Wife and I are coming down for a few days, and I'd like to resume
a little diving after a four year break, but with 500+ dives under my belt.
I see the weather's s**t but I learned to dive in the UK so a little choppiness
is the norm
Is there any at the moment, and could anyone recomend a diving outfit
to do a few (not more than 20m) dives.
I don't have any dive stuff so would need an outfit
that hires out RELIABLE equipment . . . I'd rather not end us as a statistic
Thanks

Hi guys and gals
went off for a jolly up in the mountains near Chiang Mai and ended up in a Hill Tribe Agri Tourism Village
Where I was peruaded to part with money in return for some diamonds (which I was interested in buying for earings for my beloved).
Whilst looking online on how to verify my purchase I came across this startlingly similar experience posted on another forum.
'So I just did the test and realized I got a CZ stone rather then a real diamond
Hehehe, I knew I was getting a fake, this guy sold it to me in a back alley in Phuket for $30 CAD dollars, he made a huge song and dance story about how it was real, then did a bunch of tests, 3 tests actually.. I talked him down from $500 USD LOL....
1st test, he scratched glass then broke it in half (common myth that seems to wow people).
2nd test, he placed a wood block on the ground, then a coin, then the "diamond" then another coin, then he made me smash it with a rock furiously.. It didn't break... Thats a show stopper right there... In fact the coins got all scratched up.
3rd and final test, he placed it into a gem holder, then lit it on fire for a minute or so with a lighter, it was fine..
Boy these CZs are really tough... I think I'll make it into an earring and whenever people ask, I will tell them the story about this allycat jewler.'
Exactly the same scam with me, only he said that they were from Burma.
So . . . buyer beware . . . if it's too good to be true, however good the sales pitch then it probably is.
Night

Thanks to all those nice folks to whom we can now match faces with diks.
There was a gorgeous (Farang) girl at that party, so gorgeous that I couldn't take my eyes off her (that was in the end, I mean after we drank all the Beer Lao) a girl so beautiful I didn't have the nerves to speak to her ("hello How are you? Need a toothpick? I brought some" and this sort of things French flirting experts usually say to stunning girls)
Do you ever stop thinking about bagging the babes?
Nothing that vulgar was on my mind. My post was an ode to beauty.
I'd like to thank the following people for their kindness: Peace Blondie, Rasseru, Priceless (what a good surprise!
), Blinky Bill, Kevin Hunt, George (the big boss), Tiger Beer, Junior Expat, the French speaking Na (sorry I've forgotten your nickname
) , Buck Wheat, Mobs, McGriffith.
Many thanks to Milton Bentley (To whom I haven't been introduced), the cameramen, the electricians, the plumbers, the producers, the Lao breweries, my agent and my mother.
Sorry if I've forgotten somebody.
Again many thanks to Venus for THAT smile.
JB
Was she the stunning blond girl at the bar (Nienke+1?)
If so, I totally agree . . . stunning and Belgian!

have your friend create an account and answer questions directly. if his ego is too hurt to do that, i dont think he deserves advice.
OK, but one, English isn't his first language and two, I don't think he's been able to recover his computer yet, three, he's still
in the bewildered stage of events and hurting, and four, what must one do to gain the right - in the world the way you see it - to deserve advice?
Farang13 I posted specifically :

Please keep answers appropriate to the original request

what is the proof or even suspicion that she is schizo based on?
-
Thanks for your answers so far . . . I'm NOT a troll I have 191 posts so far - but can understand why someone might think so
this is a friend and not 'a friend' ie me!
thanks Ade100 for your answer, it's sort of where I was trying to give the advice from.
It's so sad.
No one has tackled the genuine schizophrenia question and it diagnosability in LOS
Thanks again

hi guys and gals, posting this on behalf of a friend.
This guy met a Thai woman and after a brief romance married her.
They bought land in her name (as any farang must) there was a house on it
but the land document has the land showing no construction.
He paid direct from European account to the sellers account with the money never touching
his Thai account.
Turns out to be a worst case scenario.
Looks like the wife may be schizophrenic.
After coming after him in the night with a knife, he decided to leg it for safety.
She has taken possesion of the house, and also a factory unit with accomodation
and changed the locks etc.
He has a lot of historical personal family documents and such as well as all his
things from before he met her plus a car in his name and a motorbike in his name and one in hers.
He also equipped a hairdressing salon that the wife is now running at a healthy profit.
The wife drinks, plays cards, sleeps around and now has her current boyfriend
living in my friends house.
He hired a legal firm to help him get the stuff back
and went to the house with a van, 3 guys from the lawyers office and 2 local policemen.
The wife turned up with the village head (whom she is blackmailing into helping her after sleeping with
him and is now threatening to tell his wife if he doesn't help)
along with 3 henchmen.
The Lawyer's men and the policemen were useless and really left him to himself
all he was able to get were a few bits and pieces from the factory accomodation.
She has also reported 'his' bank card missing and had his foriegn currency account frozen by the bank on her request
He has these questions.
1. Is the property he owned before they got married still legally his.
2. Does the wife have the right to sell or otherwise dispose of his property without his permission.
3. Does the wife have the right to keep him out of the house
4. As there was only a land document with a dash in the construction box, who owns the house
5. Is the wife allowed to have the new boyfriend and her grandmother live in the house without his permission.
6. Can he report his car stolen as the new boyfriend is driving it about without his permission.
7. Can he get his motorbike back that his wife gave to her policeman brother and other stuff she's givien away
8. Is there any legal way he can get his property back faced with intimidation at the house. particularly the personal family documents (he has a famous relative)
9. The lawyers he hired guaranteed him to get his property gack for 50,000 bht - he's paid half, should he try to get it back?
10 Is Schizophrenia a recognised disease in Thailand? If so, can he get his marriage annulled and all her signitures voided.
11 can he apply to any court here to get her diagnosed against her will?
There is more, much more but you get the gist. It's a real mess, he needs his family papers and his sanity back.
He will be reading here so constructive answers only please - you Know what I mean!
Thanks

Hi all,
Can we please stop this BS of putting/judging people where they come from.
People are people no matter where they come from.
Just select the ones who are openminded or not
Go for the openminded that is all I can say.
Peace ya all!
At the risk of being (is flamed the right term?) isn't that a little un-openminded of you?

Hi Guys n Gals
Wifey (CNX) wishes to purchase land (CNX) from her Aunt (BKK).
Wifey says that we need to put the money into the Aunt's account
then the Aunt (I think using wifey's Dad (CNX) as a power of attorney)
will contact the land office (CNX) and transfer the channot.
Is this the correct procedure?
Being European I'm used to land transfer being a 'big job' needing
a solicitor and not just a 'small job' such as signing it over.
I'm assuming there must be more to it than just that as I've read on here
about 'Taxes' to be paid and a 'declaration the the money is solely the wifey's'
So, as I've done a search and returned empty handed - although enlightened on
another couple of subjects I wasn't looking for - would someone be kind enough
to fill me in on the process.
Also, if I were looking into a 30 + 30 lease on the land, when would the best time
be to do that - now at the purchase stage, or does that not make any difference . . . .
Many thanks
David

Afternoon all.
We seem to be being 'adopted' by a dog.
Lovely temprement, young bitch, owner never around.
Sadly only has one eye working after someone shot her with a catapult
She seems to have a bit of a skin/fur problem . . . maybe alopecia?
Can anyone recognise the problem from the pics
and maybe suggest treatment that doesn't require a vet
as she's not our dog! (antibiotic cream or something?)
Many thanks

Herbalife started 28 years ago and has 1.7 million members.
It has a fair bit of respectability in the weight-loss business too. Ex-wife tried 'every diet known' and found Herbalife was the only product that did the job.
I am not in any way associated with any weight-loss company.
Peter
Thanks for your speedy response

Hi there
Has anyone else ever come across this company recruiting or distributing in Thailand?
Are they a pyramid scam or a genuine business opportunity?
Grateful for any info before I let a friend get involved.
Thanks

Hi guys n Gals
We've been offered a Paddy field to build a house on!
Now, I've had a clay allotment before and know there are
issues with soil conditioning such things as sand and organic material
need to be incorporated etc for gardening.
The plot is about 3.5 rai, 40m one end 50m the other and about 120m long
I'm thinking of excavating a long pond to get the soil to raise the level
but hows the best way to go about this sort of project.
Has anyone else done it?
any helpful suggestions gratefully received.

My Dad, an average but oldish tourist needed hospital treatment in CM
twice in the last two months because he couldn't breathe due to the poor air quality.
I'm not sure what they did, but it was straight from the hospital to the pub
both times, with a bounce in his step!
David
PS he was also very impressed with Gekko books as they had
2 obscure titles that he was looking for on the shelves.
