  1. Yes, so if I'm in Thailand and buy iTunes card here I can buy music .... no?
  2. For whatever reason my home credit card stopped working today on iTunes purchases. I'm now looking into buying gift cards for the first time. Can you buy at 7-11 cashier? Thanks
  3. Seems to be something you understand, don’t understand, or can’t be bothered with. For me, I wouldn’t buy a “proper” motorcycle or car/truck that wasn’t manual. More control, age finer, better on fuel, makes for a more athletic experience. That said, there are countless people with physical limitations, low driving IQ, and/or different priorities that understandably don’t want or need manual. Sadly, people aren’t even exposed to manual vehicles anymore. Kinda a thing of the past …. and could be more or less extinct in the near future. Anyway, when it comes to scooters I’ve only owned semi-automatics and will likely buy one again. The manual versions seem to have little storage under the seat and carrying stuff in front isn’t nearly as practical. Fill me in if wrong.
  4. Unfortunately i spend 70% of my time driving around with stuff to carry so need a new scooter style bike. Any decent manual (not semi-automatic) bikes available? .... 125cc or more. Typically buy Honda but open to whatever if reliable and similar longevity. Thanks
  5. Once you're registered for healthcare as a foreigner, are you covered for life or only to a certain age? Thanks
  6. Hi, At some point I'll be retiring in Thailand and become a non-resident of my country with very few ties to it. Opening an account in Singapore, moving money over, and investing in mutual funds seems like a viable option. I have a US SSN so i guess that's worth pondering. It's all new to me and haven't looked into it. What are the best options? Thanks,
  7. Hi, Will likely be in Phuket relatively soon and looking to do a 30 day extension to a tourist visa. Which tends to be faster / smoother? .... Immigration in Phuket Town or Patong? What time do they stop giving out queue numbers and taking applications? Thank you
  8. Hi, Had a tooth prepared for a crown today. Dentist took a 3D image as well as a mold. Unfortunately she didn't tell me clearly what was going on and I'm pretty sure whatever mold they have isn't accurate. Any idea if it's the digital image they use to make the crown or the impression? .... or both? Thanks,
  9. - update - Domestic flight landed 10 minutes late at 1:30pm .... giving me 1hr 45min until intl flight took off. At 2:12 i had collected bag, walked to T1, checked-in, immigration, and finished security. I'd consider doing it again given the same circumstances ... but not if i was flying far and/or had time constraints.
  10. To all, thanks for the advice. It's a short regional flight so if things fall apart it's not a huge deal. But yes, pain in the bum. I'll write a quick update post-travel.
  11. Hi, I have a domestic flight into DMK and then a little under 2 hours to collect my bag, check into international flight, security and immigration. Anybody recently exited through DMK immigration and know how slow the process is? Thanks
  12. Yes, and from what I've read, most consulates require 6 months of bank statements where funds never dip below the minimum. Anyone know if the Canadian embassy or consulates require statements for 6 months to apply for METV?
  13. I've bought varying levels of quality in the past and keep being disappointed so guess I'll have to suck it up and pay for hotel quality .... whatever that means. If anyone can point me in the direction of recommended brands it would be appreciated. I prefer mattresses on the firmer side. Not sure if latex is the way to go or not.
  14. Hi, Will be flying intl. and require a Covid antingen test. Any experience of a lab around Asok BTS area that provide certificates? Many thanks
  15. Hi, Looks like I require an antigen test for a flight out of Thailand. Likely staying near Asok BTS Station. Any idea where the closest lab would be for a certificate ??? Thanks in advance
  16. Hi, I haven't checked out the nightlife in Thailand for a while. What are the current rules in Phuket? Everything open? Restricted hours? Anything open late that technically shouldn't be? Thanks
  17. Thanks everyone. A 100% latex mattress/topper around 10-15cm should be fine for my needs. Any recommendation on brands through Lazada, Shopee or ordered directly from manufacturer? Thai friend will be placing the order.
  18. Hi, Anyone have experience shopping for a 100% latex mattress? Don't want to spend a ton of cash but also don't want a dodgy second-rate mattress that won't last and be uncomfortable. Thank you
  19. Thailand Pass does not approve Phuket Sandbox applications. It goes through their website but the permit is issued through the Phuket government.... via an office / entity in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Calling Thailand Pass won't help... they'll pass you on to a rabbit hole of telephone games which will eventually work if you're persistent, clever and fluent in Thai. My experience / understanding, Thai Embassies won't help you until the last minute.... day before travel.
  20. Nakhon Si Thammarat was where approval was issued for my Thai Pass. Thai friend went through a rabbit hole to sort it out.
  21. The Thai Embassy in your country can help, but won't typically get involved until the day before you travel. Thailand Pass no longer approves applications for the Phuket Sandbox program.... although everything still goes through their website. Approval is issued through the Phuket government which seems to have outsourced the process to an entity in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Don't bother trying to find and contact them unless you are Thai or fluent. Regarding PSAS payment .... in my experience from a couple weeks ago, only direct QR payment through a Thai bank or Thai credit card would work from North America.
  22. I started a thread 1.5 weeks ago regarding payment errors on the PSAS website. The only solution was to pay with a QR code through my Thai bank account using a mobile banking app. Multiple credit and debit cards didn't work. One of the banks I contacted said it had something to do with 3-D Secure and the websites third party payment platform wasn't up-to-date with North America.
  23. #7. In brackets it says: "In case that you are not a national of the country in which you are applying for the visa." So if you're an American citizen then it's not applicable. If they still require you to upload then send passport scan again. If you aren't an American citizen then I guess you upload a green card, H1B docs, or something similar. #4 & #10 appear to be the same #9. Is proof of payment and reservation confirmation from an ASQ hotel in the city you fly into.
