Why don't they issue us with ankle tracker devices, that way they would know where we are all the time, doing away with the need for TM30 and TM47 (90 day) reports.

Yes, same issue. 3bb reckon it will take at least one month to fix.
Using an NT (CAT as was) internet connection in Phetchabun, I have no end of trouble watching UK/US TV series' on an IPTV box, the rest of the family are watching Thai TV or playing games I'm the only one affected. Found out during a speed check NT are using a 3BB server in Nakhon Sawan as one of their connection hubs.
Have no trouble watching live channels from Australia.

I applied for my retirement extension a few days ago, using the 65k method, at Jomtien Immigration.
They required me to show both the statement from the Thai bank (which, btw, took a week to get...no-one mentioned that part to me lol)...and also some proof of where the funds were coming *from*.
Two caveats here: The guy next door that helped me prepare the documents for immigration asked me what they wanted and seem perplexed, indicating that he seemed to have not heard of this before. So it could just be my immigration guy had a bug up his ass. He seemed pleasant enough but...I don't know.
The other caveat is that the only thing I had available on my phone were some withdrawal alerts that matched up with the amounts and dates. I asked if that would be ok or if I needed to go home and print off a year of statements from the originating bank. He accepted them. Not sure if that means my extension is likely approved or not. We will see in a few days.
I know it's Jomtien as you say, but I still don't understand the delay.
I've used 4 different offices for annual retirement extensions and all of them approved on the spot and stamped the passport accordingly. Normally only takes about 30-40 mins in the office. Also with a Non-B and work permit, extension approved and passport stamped all in one 30-40 minute visit.

Retirement is simply 50+ yrs old, and not working in TH, unless having a permit to do.
Retirement is simply 50+ (correct provided you can meet the financial requirements)
Not working in TH (correct)
Unless having a permit to do (then you won't be on retirement as the labor office will not issue you with a Work Permit - been there and done that)

When he left the UK he was 53. It is highly unlikely that that he would have amassed any meaningful pension pots at that age.
I left UK at 48 with enough contributions to be able to obtain my full State Pension, wasn't my fault they changed the scheme criteria on me

Bangkok Bank you need a new ID so have to go to a branch, 30 mins later done, but not possible if abroad?
maybe I need to get a new phone to get my second BB account added to mobile banking, my branch has told me (and backed up by other posters here) that foreigners can only have one account.

Was be collecting an old age pension !
Good question and if so which NI number was he using for DWP Peter Smith or Richard Burrows, did he ever have to do "Proof of Life" certificates, and were HMRC taxing his private pensions if any (or at least assessing him for tax).
If my brain was younger I could probably think of quite a few more areas with question marks, the system does appear to have failed in his account.

Guy sure needs a lot of attention. Better bring his mommy on his next trip to watch over him.
Better still stay at home and eat risky Chinese food, than come to Thailand to eat risky Thai food and then complain that the food HE chose gave him problems.

That leaves the question of what date can I draw down 400k?
Rightly or wrongly I count it from the extension expiry date, in my case 29 April, so therefore 29 May (30 days), 29 June (31 Days), 29 July (30 days) so total of 91 days, in case months are being counted as 31 days each it's safe to move on August 1, by doing so I had no issue with my local office 3 days ago for my annual extension.
I personally think it should be from the approval date not from the expiry date, but is it worth the potential problem next year for a few days this year.

That wasn't the question here.
If you have another valid reason to apply for a one year extension (e.g. retirement or marriage), then yes,you can apply for it. But if you don't, you need to leave when your employment ends.

Poster asked what is options were, so I gave him an answer that avoided the need to leave the country to get a fresh visa.

But how about when would I have to leave' if I just want my current Non B WP to expire?
You have to leave when your employment ends.
Nope, when my contract terminated, with the schools help I got my WP cancelled, and then applied same day for a "Retirement" extension. Did not need to leave the country, and have now had 5 subsequent retirement extensions without leaving.

How come fallang wives of Thai can work but fallang husbands of Thai cannot?
For the same reason they are not required to show money in bank or foreign income every year to Immigration.
Fallang husbands can work provided they are actually married and can get a work permit.

I tried to open a second savings account with Bangkok Bank. Went to two branches, both said that one person can have only one savings account. I called the call center and they confirmed this. But it really doesn't make sense to me.
Has anyone managed to open multiple savings accounts with Bangkok Bank?
I have 2 accounts, but was told "as a foreigner I'm really only allowed to have one", however Thais can have multiple.

At least it's reached Naklua, a package sent to me from Singapore correctly addressed for delivery in Phetchabun Region, did not even get out of Bangkok, It was returned to sender marked as "No such address in Bangkok".

Sorry, I forgot, not directly using bank transfer from Thai bank accounts but using Thai debit/credit cards you can still take out money from Thailand cheaper than direct swift transfer
Very interested as I wouldn't mind doing so.
Have you actually succeeded in doing so, or is it pure theory.

20 million should be good for 20 years. I guess for such long-term rental he should also get a substantial discount.
Like an extra 5 years, would sound too much like a jail sentence for a judge, I give you 20 years but for good behavior (i.e. you've still got money) it will be commuted to 25 years.
