Any good tailors in Koh Lanta that you would recommend?
Maybe in Klong Dao or Long Beach area? or in the "capital" of Lanta?
What did you order from the tailor?
Did they have good selection of fabrics...?
Any info welcome

Ah, ok.
The price is very ok in that case
Thank you for the info!!

Hello!
How long way is from Twin Bay Resort to the Pra Ae Beach?
Is it too long to walk (more than 1kilometer/way)?
Any ideas how much a taxi ride would be?
Definitely too far to walk and the hotel should have some kind of solution for you there.
Should only be 150-200 baht each way.
Thanks!
Is that price for a person?

Planning to visit Phuket (Karon or maybe Kata) in Low Season (July).
I know, the ocean might be out of question for swimming...
But what about boat trips to some islands?
I know Similans are "closed" during the Low Season.
But is there some other nice islands to visit even in the summer?
And what about the restaurants + shops in Karon/Kata in July?
Are they open during the Low Season? Or do many places close for the summer?

http://www.elephantnaturepark.org/tour/index.htm
I did find this place. But is up in the Northern Thailand.
I think in parks like this one elephants truly have better conditions + life than in those trekking/riding places.
What do you think?
Are there any parks like this Elephant Nature Park in Samui or near Samui?
Or is this really the only park where elephants can life more free?

Hi!
I did read that there is some elephant safari or elephant ride in Koh Samui (maybe in the Chaweng area)?
How are the elephants doing? Do they (the thais/owners) treat them well/good?
What is your experience/point of view? Are the elephants having "good" life?
And any other info is also welcome (how much is the price for elephant ride? where do they go? where I can get a elephant ride)?
I have never seen real living elephant!
I would love to see one! But if it is treated poorly, that would be too sad....

Chaweng is a big, busy beach with a lot of people...
You've got to expect a bit of rubbish
yeah, sure there will be some rubbish, that is life...
But I hope there's not too much rubbish, that's not nice

Hmm... So are all the beaches with hotels (Lamai, Chaweng, Big Buddha) dirty/with garbage?
No Jone L , but they could be better looked after.
I was in near Hua Hin (my firts trip to Thailand) and I was really dissapointed/sad with the beach. There was plastic bags and soda cans and horse s*hit... On the first day I did try to pick some plastic things (didn't really wanna touch the horse things...), but after a while I just got frustrated
So I hope that the Chaweng beach isn't so dirty...

And then the filth/garbage goes to the ocean when the high tide comes?
Is the Chaweng beach dirty through all it's lenght? or only in the center part?
How about Lamai beach? or the Bophut (the Buddha beach)? Are they also dirty?
-
Oh.. That is sad
In the pics the beach looks so lovely...
It is ###### shame when people throw their garbage to the nature
I don't like tourists that make a mess, it's just sad.

I did read some comments about Mae Nam beach being dirty (glass, plastic bags...).
So how is Chaweng Beach? Chaweng is more touristic beach, right? So more people than on Mae Nam... So more dirty?
Or is there some cleaner group that takes care about Chaweng Beach?
-
Oh... And is the Chaweng's waters/ocean good to snorkeling? I mean clear/clean waters? or more dark/murky?
-
Hi!
I did read that Chaweng beach is protected by a coral reef...
So the beach is good/save to swim even in the July (in Phuket/Krabi it is said that ocean is too rocky/red flags)?
Is the Chaweng beach very deep or more shallow (good for not-good-swimmers)?
And can you give some tips about good restaurants in Chaweng?
I love indian dishes
And is Chaweng very hectic/busy in July?
Thanks for any info/help

Is there any gyms/fitness centers in Chaweng area? or maybe in Lamai?
And what kind of equipments they offer?
What is a price for 1time visit? or 10time card?
-
All the tailors are similar. They send the work out to various contractors.
The only thing the guy does in the shop is take your measurments & when the time comes for a fitting then the contractor comes in & does all the adjustments.
Aah... I didn't know that.
Thanks
-
Ok... So Chaweng is also "ok" place to stay if I avoid staying in center of Chaweng?
How about Bophut + Lamai?
Do they offer any good tailors?
Or do I need to go to Chaweng for tailors?
-
Personally I feel Lamai has a few too many ladybars for a couple to feel confortable, agree with the comments on taxis tho
Hi Goldfish!
What place you reccomend if not Lamai beach?
We are looking more relaxed/quiet vacation...

Hi!
How is Samui in July?
-is the weather usually good/decent? (hoping to spend some time just relaxing on the beach+swimming, or is the ocean very rough in July/red flags?)
-is July very busy/crowded season? Or more relaxed+quiet?
What area/beach you reccomend?
-We are looking for some nice restaurants
-Nice beautiful beach for walks + sunbathing
-Some GOOD/classy tailor shops?
And is Samui very expencive island?
I mean eating in restaurants+getting tailor made clothes...?
Comperd to Hua Hin or something?

Hi!
Is it very common/easy to use Master card or Visa Electron in Bangkok's shops?
I think I will do most of my shoppings in MBK shopping mall
edit:
and do they take some extra price if I use Master or Visa Electron?
-
Thank you for the info
-
if you have a suit made they will ask you when you are going back home and promise to have your order ready by then , usually the night before.
make sure you give them a date at least a week before the actual date , that way the tailors will have adequate time to do the alterations / remake that will probably be necessary.
ok... thanks for the info

Hi,
Krabi is really far away, I don't think it's worth the effort for just a few days.
My suggestion is that you go to the Ban Saphan area south of Hua Hin. If you go 1-2 hours by car (taxi, bus, train) you can find nice places.

Hmm... Koh talu island is in the Ban Saphan area?
I did read that the ocean can be very rough in December round Koh tao and the boats can't go there in days... Is it same with Koh Talu?
It's not actually the ocean...it's Gulf of Thailand. Phuket and Krabi are on the (Indian) ocean side.
In December I saw choppy seas in Chumpon, 100km south of Ban Saphan. Chumpon area is believed to be the rainiest spot in Thailand, receiving the most of the downpour from October to December.
If the seas get rough, you may still be able to get to Koh Talu - but the weather would be there too. If not big waves then cloudy, windy and the water murky.
Otherwise, nice place, just decide on the day.
Ok, thank you for the info!
Hmm... Is there some good weather news or something in Hua Hin/Cha Am so I can ceck the weather in Koh Talu area before going there?
