NZ is IMO a nanny state. He may not have realised that Thailand is not.

Maybe you could tell that to the relatives of the now deceased Sir Edmond Hillary one of the greatest mountaineers of all time ( He along with Sherpa Tensing conquered Mt Everest in 1953) or perhaps to Dame Helen Clarke a former PM who was also a devotee of mountain climbing

absolutely correct,  and that's why kids run amok here and grow up to be lost causes, end up in jail,  because thai parents are brain dead when it comes to what a real parent is suppose to do.

Do you really think that this only happens in Thailand

One often reads of 14-16 year olds in the UK running around stabbing people

In the USA they shoot you

All countries have problems with youth crime

If the escalator was very crowded.  And the people at the top didn’t get off quickly enough or just stopped on top. That could have possibly caused the  people behind them to fall and start a chain reaction.
A couple of year’s ago I was going up an escalator in Terminal 21 Asoke.  There were two people in front of me possibly tourists..  When they reached the top they got off their step.  But they immediately just stayed there talking to each other blocking the escalator. I yelled get out of the way.  Luckily they moved or everyone still coming up could have fell backwards.

Same happens when many Thai people get to the top and then check their phones Grrrrr

  4. Wine used to be quite reasonable in Thailand during the 1990s but the huge recession that hit the country 1997 causing a huge (50%plus)devaluation of the currency.....The Thai HiSo  had been drinking top class wines with vigor as if there was no tomorrow so the Govt banged on all these high taxes overnight...Champagne was cheaper here than in France

Doesn't Thailand have entertainment promoters. Why is the Government getting involved in the entertainment industry or is it just a profit opportunity for certain gov't officials to get a New Year bonus?.

There are some very talented people within the govt who are able to clean up the floor from any debris ie money very quickly....so fast it is gone in the blink of an eye

Surely Russell Crowe can sing and dance a bit, and he's already in town.

Yep Russell Crowe sure can sing and play guitar (another plus)

He used to have a quite successful rock band in New Zealand in his youth before becoming an international star and also had one in the USA

Russ Le Roq was his stage name

He may also have had one in Australia where he first made his mark in movies

    Great worker and always ambitious
