no. embassy business has (absolutely)nothing to do with passport applications. embassy provides Visas in Passports & Emergency Travel Doc. if Passport not available, for a specific intl. journey,one time to UK only.

My Canadian friend & neighbour was hiking the public road up our local hill when he was viciously attacked, his defensive arm mauled and severely injured by an unrestrained unmuzzled huge pit bull ( man -size head & shoulders) which charged out of a large private house, onto the road. His insured medical / surgical bill was 460,000 baht. He has permanent damage to his left bicep & forearm muscles, mental trauma aside. He is a physically fit & strong guy ( good squash player, gym rat, early 60’s), unarmed at the time, yet could easily have been killed if the attack had been sustained or any major artery or throat had been ruptured. The dog was called off by local thais who drove him to hospital. This dog is a clear danger to human life and obviously needs to be put down, in the public interest. Any small person (unarmed) would certainly have suffered extensive harm and might easily have been killed. Only a matter of time. My friend has made a police report, with his foreigner friend as Attack Witness, including Photos of the Dog and its Residence. The dog is specifically known to the attending hospital as it has attacked & wounded humans before. I wonder if the dog owner has certain “connections” which would explain why the dog continues completely free, with no muzzle or chain lease. My recovering friend will await any Police Action, will pursue the termination of this lethal beast, in the public interest, to prevent it striking again, and intends to seek legal compensation from the animals owner. I would imagine the making of the Police Report would protect my friend from any potential retaliation from the dogs owner. I would welcome any useful positive comments.

brittim: validation of applicant is already done within the ukgov app. form & enclosures. address & delivery problems all solved by closed delivery system, instead of VPS / Agents, using uk govt. nominated courier companies to accept / check app.pkg directly from applicant and deliver / validate receiving applicant for new passport.

ukgov / passport website says somewhere that the Local Service Agent (VFS) method was applied to Thailand “to prevent fraud”. However the system itself is flawed & open to fraud by centralizing in one city and allowing Agents to visit & present to VFS ! If you cant get to Bangkok you cant travel abroad so dont need a Passport Renewal then . Oh right you need it for your New Longstay Visa/ Extn even though you never leave Thailand. Get Permanent Residency Then ! TIT. Agree HMPO should dispense with VFS and allow direct applicant online / postal applications.

he means perhaps that no investment return is guaranteed unless bank deposits or govt bonds at 1% 6-10 % “guaranteed” means high risk so far from guaranteed. but yes, performing home maint. here yourself, means valuable time lost & injury risk & tools cost & lack of specialized skills ( AC) vs. 500 baht / local basic labour cost, 1000 for skilled like AC. STAY Resort Rawai is simply delightful for quiet country non- beach stay. Modern Inexpensive 5 *. Amazing Pool Complex, Cafes, Onsen Sauna/ Steam / Spa, Modern Gym, Goumet Steakhouse. Kata Main Beach best on Phuket…….Green Man Tudor Building English Pub between the two. Never understood the attraction of Kamala with Patong & Laguna so close……….

further suggest OP holds all original house company share certicates, voting and and non- voting, legal undated resignation letters from all directors, voting or not. This avoids all house sale drama later, with missing thais, expired thai ID cards etc. Permits simple easy company transfer to new owner or company disolution. Assuming thai company (OP) here holds Freehold Land & House ?

isn’t there provision in uk.gov/passport to check your specific passport application status online and/ or email ?cant you expedite UK Passports ,or have VPS do that for you, under the circumstances of imminent expiry ?
