The owner said if you speak Thai then get out!!

I give him the benefit of the doubt. I think some Thais are happy to see tourists but they aren't so keen on the defacto residents and see them as being a bit too thrifty. -
The owner said if you speak Thai then get out!!

When I was young I avoided speaking Thai to most girls as they said I knew too much. Strange because the only reason I learned Thai was that, back in 1980, very few girls spoke any English at all. Now that I am old and they don't care, speaking Thai opens many doors that wouldn't otherwise be opened and I get gratuitously complimented on my Thai fairly often even though I am far from fluent. Thais a re fairly perceptive and with even just a few words they know I've been around the traps a long time. I never get push back from speaking Thai. I'm pretty sure that when I was young the girls resented that I had obviously been around. Now that I'm old they don't care. -

She holds an elected position. But, hey. You're the one who can't see any fault by Israel. I see both sides. You clearly don't. -
Trump unable to get $464m bond in New York fraud case, his lawyers say
ozimoron replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I think this is just a legal play. When the chips are down next week the bond will suddenly appear. My money would be on Clarence Thomas' rich buddy. I can't see the rich would be oligarchs just walking away from Trump over a lousy half billion. From the tenor of his recent filings I'm convinced he's already getting some legal help under the table. Alina Habba is just not that clever. No prizes for guessing where I think that help is coming from. -
Israel is at War - General discussion (pt3)

In an unprecedented legal development, senior Australian politicians, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, have been referred to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for investigation into whether they have aided or supported Israel’s actions in Gaza. The referral, made by the Sydney law firm Birchgrove Legal on behalf of their clients, is the first time any serving Australian political leaders have been formally referred to the ICC for investigation. The referral asserts that Albanese, Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Opposition Leader Peter Dutton and other members of the government have violated the Rome Statute, the 1998 treaty that established the ICC to investigate and prosecute allegations of war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity. https://theconversation.com/why-have-anthony-albanese-and-other-politicians-been-referred-to-the-icc-over-the-gaza-war-225079 -

She's leader of the settlers. She speaks for the settlers, all of them presumably. She's not some random cleaning lady even if she looks like one. -
Trump says country faces ‘bloodbath’ if Biden wins in November
ozimoron replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Where's Trump's repudiation? Is it beneath him to to clarify his comments so as not to be misunderstood? My money is on Trump doubling down on those comments without clarification during the next week or two. -
Trump says country faces ‘bloodbath’ if Biden wins in November
ozimoron replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Anybody with an intent to speak concisely (Yes, I know) would have said a "bloodbath for the industry" and not a "bloodbath for the country". Forgive us for taking him at his word. Why hasn't Trump bothered to clarify his comments? I think we know the answer to that question. It's now left to the apologists to clean up aisle 3. -

It looks to me that you are justifying the forced displacement of civilians based on the fact that Hamas are still holding hostages. It remains a fact that such forced displacements are in fact genocide, regardless of any motivation. Palestinians have very good reason to believe that those displaced civilians will never be permitted to return and that the entire region will be settled by Israelis. The forced displacements of 1948 and the subsequent illegal settlements in the West Bank and the statements of the Israeli government itself provide ample evidence that's going to be the case. The existential risk to Israel if that happens is high. The world will not tolerate such a situation. -
Trump unable to get $464m bond in New York fraud case, his lawyers say
ozimoron replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Trump: "A bond of the size set by the Democrat Club-controlled Judge, in Corrupt, Racist Letitia James’ unlawful Witch Hunt, is unConstitutional, un-American, unprecedented, and practically impossible for ANY Company, including one as successful as mine. The amount of the penalty wasn't pulled out of a dark place arbitrarily but supported by the evidence produced in court. Trump simply benefited by the amount of the penalty plus a bit for punishment as is usually the case in fraud judgements. -
Trump says some undocumented immigrants are ‘not people’

Nope. My question was whether YOU supported jailing employers of illegal immigrants. You didn't go there. -

Google Gemini says: There are labor shortages in many industries in the U.S., such as agriculture, construction, and hospitality. Undocumented immigrants are often willing to fill these jobs because they are less likely to complain about low wages or dangerous working conditions. I note that you gave the question of jailing the employers a huge swerve. GG also says that illegals in the US make an average of 60% more than at home. Ford is doing the patriotic thing in reducing the pull factor by moving all of their small car production to Mexico. -

Started when Biden took office? Really? Illegal immigration ebbs and flows with employment conditions. It got worse lately because employment conditions are much better under Biden. Blame the employers. The right wing are crickets when it comes to prosecuting employers. Do you support charging employers who employ illegals? I've asked this question many times and guess how many of the Biden blamers have replied in the affirmative? -

What's your solution? shoot them? The dems offered the strictest bill EVER for closing the border but Trump killed it. Your talking point is LOST. -

I agree. Do you support jailing those who create the pull factor by employing them? btw, I was only refuting a false imputation that illegal immigrants committed more crimes than the denizens. -

It seems the Saudi sovereign wealth fund doesn't price a pass for MBS that highly, especially after the deed has been done. Maybe the 2 billion they gave Kushner isn't paying itself back the way they expected it to. -

An American company that paid an indicted FBI informant who testified in the Joe Biden impeachment inquiry has ties to a British company owned by associates of Donald Trump in Dubai, according to a new report. The Guardian reported that business filings and court documents show Smirnov, who has been accused of lying to investigators about the president and his son Hunter Biden, was paid $600,000 in 2020 by a company called Economic Transformation Technologies (ETT), and the indictment shows that same year he started lying to the FBI about the Bidens. Arjomand and Khan have ties to Trump through some of his associates and Damac, a Middle Eastern developer who has partnered with the former president for a decade, and Trump describes Damac's former chairman Hussain Sajwani as a "friend” and a “great man," and their families have attended weddings, Mar-a-Lago parties and ribbon-cutting ceremonies together. https://www.rawstory.com/alexander-smirnov-2667511356/

You flat out contested another poster's contention that immigrants committed less crimes and won't back that up. Hardly a deflection. while I'm at it, here's the link to your "furious resident" you won't provide but called me a liar over. https://www.foxnews.com/media/furious-resident-aoc-district-says-migrants-turning-neighborhood-epicenter-crime-prostitution -
