Time for a new Samsung phone - which to get?
MrJ2U replied to Sheryl's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
The promotion I got for the pre-order was two years. Usually its one year. Your right. Warranty work is only in the country you purchased it in. I was wrong. I had to mail my Samsung watch to the US for warranty work from Thailand. It was quite expensive because of the watch battery. The pre order promotions can be very good. Two years warranty and screen replacement. Samsung are premium phones and hopefully one will unlikely ever need to use the warranty or at least live within the country if they do. They may already be taking pre -orders for the Galaxy S23 series. Check the website, perhaps they'll have similar promotions. Good luck! -

Ignorance is bliss. -
I know of many products on their sites that are 20-30% cheaper than buying at The box stores. Diapers and dog food, baby milk for instance have saved me a lot of money. Any items I've had a problem with I've had no issues returning for a full refund. Without these sites I'm certain the two families that own Big C, Tesco's, 7/11,and Makros would be even be more overpriced!

Push it underground. People realize its like growing a Tomatoes. Why deal with the Thai bureaucracy. -
For sure. Dark side is fun to explore!

...... Then you go to Soi Bhukow and its hopping. Relatively considering we're still in a pandemic.

How is Soi 7 and Soi 8? During the height of COVID I was amazed at how it had almost completely folded except for a smattering of bars closer to beach road. I felt like one of those urban explorers with everything closed up and dusty pool tables and overturned barstools. Such an interesting time exploring Thailand when there virtually no tourists.

Sure make it interesting again if he's reelected!

how late can you be on a PEA payment before electricity is disconnected
MrJ2U replied to flexomike's topic in General Topics
You can pay using Lazada. There's not even a service charge. They'll email you a reciept for payment. You can use Lazada app anywhere and they also except foreign credit cards. My wife says a few months for cutoff entirely for non-payment. It's too bad there isn't the option to pay in advance or have credit like they do on TRUE. -
I'm certain the unusually high humidity and heat have something to do with it. How does Humidity Affect Air Conditioning and Heating March 11, 2013 Most people know that excessive humidity can make them feel even hotter during the summer. It comes as no surprise, then, that it has a major impact on the effectiveness of air conditioning systems. What people don’t often realize is that humidity has an effect on heating systems as well. When the humidity in a home is too high or too low, achieving optimal indoor comfort is easier said than done. Today’s best HVAC systems include humidifiers and dehumidifiers that keep relative humidity levels in check. How Humidity Affects Air Conditioning Air conditioners cool homes by removing heat and moisture from the air. When humidity levels are excessive, they need to work a lot harder. If the equipment doesn’t have sufficient cooling capacity, it may be unable to cope with extreme humidity. As a result, the home may never feel truly comfortable. A few common signs of high indoor humidity include: Moist, clammy air. In fact, your skin may feel clammy when you’re inside your home. Foggy windows. This happens because humidity is vaporized water in the air. When it becomes bottled up in your home, it may fog up the windows. A musty odor. Excessive humidity causes dampness around the home and can eventually lead to this unpleasant problem. Air Conditioning Systems and Humidity "In theory, an air conditioning system should be able to remove moisture from the air. When humidity levels spike, however, most systems can’t cope. Humidity affects air conditioning negatively because it cancels out the cooling effect. When the humidity is too high, your home will feel warmer than it actually is. You’ll have to keep your air conditioning system running but won’t derive nearly as many benefits from using it. In other words, you’ll pay more to cool your home but won’t actually cool it that effectively." https://byrdheatingandair.com/articles/how-does-humidity-affect-air-conditioning-and-heating

Who needs competition. That's according to the brewing monopolies in Thailand in any case. Hopefully things will change. "Thailand’s alcohol industry has long been monopolised by two government-backed breweries, Boon Rawd Brewery, who produce Singha and Leo and Thai Beverage Brewery who produce Chang beer. Another brewery, Thai Asia Pacific, produces Heineken and Tiger, two more popular beers in Thailand." https://thethaiger.com/news/national/thailands-cabinet-votes-in-favour-of-revolutionary-alcohol-brewing-act

Time for a new Samsung phone - which to get?

Yes, at the Samsung store. You can bring your phone to any authorized Samsung dealer/Samsung shop in Asia. I haven't had any issues yet. That was the other reason. 2 years warranty with free screen replacement if it's cracked or broken for two years also.
