  1. It's usually the pesky unknown vulnerabilities that most hackers use.
  2. China, Russia, and UK are having COVID resurgence. Safe countries doesn't really mean "safe" in Thailand. It's just dollar signs.
  3. Get a cheap AIS pay as you go sim. Use it on a cheap 2000 baht phone. Use this phone only for your bank. I hope you can get this settled. Terribly stressful I'm sure. Maybe you could have the SMS sent to a friends phone in Australia while you're Skyping. Then he could just show or tell you the code to input. I've actually done that.
  4. They don't even make dumb TV's anymore. Here in Issan there still selling remanufactured big square ones from the 80's. Talk about dumb TV's.
  5. You could just get a cheap android box from Ali Express. Nice for YouTube. Thats basically all we watch despite having Netflix. News and documentaries for me and unlimited cartoons for the children. Yai watches cooking shows. Unfortunately she's still a terrible cook.
  6. That sucks! That would make me unhappy also. TV's in Thailand are a little overpriced in my opinion. We have Lg's and Samsungs. Hands down I prefer the Samsungs. It's getting towards the end of the year, better prices. I've noticed some of those huge Tesco's have good prices. Makros has descent prices. I even got one 55 inch online for 12,000 baht. Smart LG in the game room. Works fine. Not a good idea. If something is wrong I have no recourse. Enjoy your weekend!
  7. Get s TLC 75". Under 30,000 baht. Brilliant. You'll never leave the house again. Samsung makes there screens. Smart TV's are fine for YouTube, Netflix, Al Jazeera, etc. But if you want the juicy stuff like free premium sports, first run films, and other things you'll need a good Android box. Nvidia is best. I've got a Mi box S for traveling. It's really good and updates a lot. You don't want some cheapish box one running Android 7. Troypoint.com has very good tutorials and Android box recommendations. Its a good starting point. You'll need good WiFi, but after that you'll never need cable again. Good luck!
  8. "Has the level of happiness in Thailand deteriorated?" Thailand is great but damned pandemics always put a damper on things.
  9. My eyes are itchy. My wife mentioned the dry season is near. Along with dust and burning sugarcane embers in my pool.
  10. This is going to end up badly. No problem for the government. Their all vaccinated and living of the taxpayer's dole.
  11. It's going to be a mess by the end of November. I predict another total lockdown. Thousands of stranded tourists with no way home.
  12. Bangkok's Airways is so damned expensive. Probably a bad time to go South. Looks like the beginning of another wave.
  13. Can't blame them. Cheaper than Even Burmese laborers. Money never gets in the way of ethics in Thailand. A warden was the one who discovered its questionable medicinal qualities. Crazy!
  14. Unless you're in a bigger city many of these "dental clinics" don't inspire much confidence. Filthy with no soap in the bathrooms. Much better to go to one of the private hospitals. I find paying a little extra saves a lot in the end.
  15. Horrible. What a weak mother and sister. I'm dumbfounded. A lot of us have kids and wonder how it could come to such an end. RIP lil guy.
  16. I was just in Khon Kaen for a few nights. Stayed at an upscale hotel. They actually had a pool party late into the wee hours. Didn't bother me but I assume if you pay you can play. Can't blame them its been a long lockdown and Khon Kaen is notoriously boring for its size. Nice shopping mall though.
  17. The 7 pro I think has a better than the 8 pro. The Anantara's are ok. I prefer a more modern style in there Avani brand. We're not going anywhere until my wife gets the Moderna shots. Finally got our slot number today, what a fiasco. I think you're thinking of the Rasananda resort. Anantara doesn't have a resort on Koh Kradan. Island looks perfect though. Enjoy your weekend!
  18. Agoda is ok. Your best option is to just use it as a guide and then book directly with the property. Changes and cancelations are much easier that way. You can earn points and status with hotels booking directly. Marriott,Hilton, etc. Its useful if you're in some obscure area. Booking.com might be better in the USA. As in Agoda you could just use that as a reference and book directly with the hotel. In my experience you'll get a better deal with direct bookings and upgraded if you use there brand consistently.
  19. Same. But we went 6 months ago. Empty beaches. Sureal. The party places were desolate. Totally enjoyed ourselves. The Royal Suite was 4,000 baht at the Anantara.
  20. Brilliant! No wire fees. There Chade Sapphire Reserve card is great if you travel.
  21. Headache and sore arm for the evening Wouldn't call them issues.
  22. Who needs those when we have people like you praising everything Thai. Ugh.
  23. Not perfect but better. Be great if you can pick and choose what hotel. However, I'm sure they ring out your pockets for some ASQ government approved place. Its definitely going to be crazy. I can see thousands of people stranded here when the next wave hits. Flu strain might make things worse. Good idea to be vaccinated against the yearly flu also. You don't want to be mistakenly thrown into a field hospital.
  24. I've heard how bad sugar is for you. Keep it up. You'll not only feel better you'll lose weight and look like a super model! Theres a YouTube video of a couple who gave up sugar for one year. They documented it. Excellent and entertaining video. (I can't remember the name. It had millions of views, maybe you can search for it). Give us an update if you can keep it up.
