  1. I live in a small country town in Isaan with only 1 small pharmacy (attached to 7/11) and 2 raan khai yaas so my choices will, no doubt, be somewhat limited.

But due to family circumstances, the NY holiday and uncle general's call to arms I will probably buy what I can today or tomorrow.

I read a month or 3 ago that only 3 or 4 ATK test kits out of the couple of dozen? for sale in Thailand are any good. Of course they weren't named so it's a "lucky-dip" I guess. Unless someone here's "in the know" ?

(Oh! Sorry. I meant uncle general's call to ATKs...).

Thanks. I will read it but at my leisure.

For those who are interested in where these trains will run

The Nation article linked in a comment on page 1 of this thread has the info. I can't re-link it here, possibly because I'm a luddite.

It's good to have some probably factual information before reading the many posts full of opinions and conjecture.

Opinions are like anuses; everyone's got one...

  3. I'm pretty sure NZ uses refurbished carriages from Japan on their scenic route trains. Nice carriages. Narrow gauge.

As mentioned above if Japan has 3 foot 6 gauge then I think NZ does too. "Standard" narrow gauge. (Sorry to mix up 2 conflicting rail terms but I hope you get my meaning).

Does Thailand really have 1m gauge not narrow gauge? Wouldn't surprise me I suppose but why? Do any other countries use 1m gauge?

    Maybe metric places like EU?

Japan had railways pre ww2 so why did they use narrow gauge as opposed to 1m?

  4. Aussie licence used to obtain Thai licences.

    One for car.

    Another for motorcycle.

They didn't want to give me my heavy rigid vehicle 3 axle licence though. I didn't push it as I doubt I'll be driving a truck very often.

I had to get proof of address from immigration despite having pink id and yellow thabian baan.

Also health cert from hospital or clinic dr.

Colour blindness test and brake reaction time test at dlt.

Therefore took 2 visits to dlt because took a few days for immigration letter.

    Nongkhai.

  5. Very good idea. A bit too hilly for me in Nongkhai. Real hills with simulated ones overlaid. Like to try something similar on my motorbike but get strange looks from farmers and don't want to encroach on their "private"? land.

Easier perhaps on a bike, you can talk or yell sawat dii (or ask for permission).

That QR code is not the Morphrom app.

If you cannot create an account on the actual Morphrom app, then as a suggestion you should go to the place where you received your shots and let then fix it on the spot. Emails and phone calls get lost or put aside.

    Scanned qr.

Received Covid-19 Vaccine and Test Result Certificate.

It's green (and yellow), like the morphrom app so thought it came from morphrom.

Ok, I accept that it doesn't.

And that I should go to the administering hospital to sort morphrom.

Is morphrom where I get international travel covid "passport"?

  7. Why is a krathom thread in a cbd forum? Different stuff.

Why so much argument over cbd, thc, and types of weeds in a krathom thread?

I have a dozen or more weed types, some flowering right now. I doubt any would give the effect of thc or krathom. I am not going to try them out either.

Now can anyone point me to a krathom thread with sensible posts and discussion, please?

  8. I have a digital certificate from Morphrom app and the paper one from the hospital that vaccinated me.

I can't create account on morphrom, it doesn't recognise my phone number.

Tells me to contact hospital. I did so but no reply. Over a week now. (They were very helpful and on the ball at vaccination time though).

Question; is the morphrom cert same as covid vaccination passport for international travel?

If not, where can I try to get one, please?

The silver tanked wideline Featherbed Norton was a beautiful machine. It went round corners as if on rails. If only we could have an OHC single with updated electrics, fuel injection and hydraulic brakes with a disc at the front and an oil tight engine. An updated International maybe !

Indian engineers have worked wonders with the RE, all it needs now is an overhead cam.

Royal Enfield Himalayan meets your criteria.

But I guess you want an IOM type racer rather than a plodder to go up mountains?

No...that does not work. This really does work , Shwepps bitter lemon. 1 third Lao Khao , 1 third water and 1 third bitter lemon.

I like the odourless lao khao with ice, tonic and lemon. Same same as vodka tonic manao but different.

Or straight from the freezer works for me, no aftertaste to speak of.

  11. You could always buy lao khao up to the uk duty free limit for spirits and take it with you.

Years ago I took 3 or 4 bottles to nz where the duty free limit is/was 3 litres.

You might have more problem with 11 tigers?

Idk what this is tho' I have drunk red lao dong before.

    Drunk, yes...

  12. Re-read op. Oh! You want to drink lao dong in uk! Oops, my mistake.

Thanks for the lao dong recipe should I ever want to make it.

I'm sure you're all aware you can add scorpions, centipedes etc or certain traditional medicine herbs to your mixture.

Um, traditional herb? That could be interesting...

    Or dangerous...

  13. This tastes almost like vodka. Does not have that horrible 40 Degree (the common lao khao) taste. Available everywhere. Same price or cheaper. There is another brand also in green bottle tastes same but no have bottle to photo.

If have to drink standard lao khao; neat with cold water chaser.
