What a shame the Thaiger's headline deliberately, falsely misconstrued what the article actually stated. The "2 million baht treatment" relates to the cost of repairing the CCTV system, not to the cost of Thaksin's treatment that the DoC is obliged to provide for the prisoner... "2 Million Baht Regarding the hospital’s CCTV system, Chaichana requested the prime minister to use the 2 million baht budget allocated for overseas trips to repair the defunct CCTV system. He found that not only the building but also the surrounding area’s CCTV system had been faulty for several years".

Not true, at all, Klong Prem has an onsite hospital where prisoners are treated, they are not left lying around to die and, as the DoC and PGH have confirmed, are treated outside prison if necessary. "..how many other prisoners are at the same hospital with similar disease?" How many other prisoners have the same conditions?

"...they don't care what you or me think". Of course, they don't, there's no reason for them to care one iota about what anonymous foreign Asean Now posters think and there's no reason for foreign AN posters to get so hot and bothered about the subject to the extent that they appear to think that they can demand what Thai authorities do about the matter.

New rule for cash deposit machines from November 15th
Liverpool Lou replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You left out the word ‘card’. Indeed I did but I doubt that anyone thought that I was "inserting my ATM". I also misspelled Krungsri but you missed that. -
My point is that the chap making the claim, knows nothing other than what is reported in the media. Smith claimed that Thaksin's heart condition is fabrication. That has not been confirmed as being factual by any media sources.

New rule for cash deposit machines from November 15th
Liverpool Lou replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Maybe you can go and inform the banks that you spoke to that Krrungsri and BBL both accepted my cash today just by inserting my ATM. No screen mentioned Thai ID being required. Were you, perhaps, trying to deposit cash into a 3rd party's account? -

I didn't need anything today except my ATM card and PIN (BBL). -
New rule for cash deposit machines from November 15th

I wonder if this is one of the times that they haven't quite got it dialed in yet and it asks for a Thai ID #, but it should really ask for Thai ID# or PIN, depending on context? Please post back next time you try it and let us know if there's any changes. Paid cash into the Bangkok Bank CDM near Sukhumvit Soi 8 today. As in every other cash deposit transaction since the ID regulations were brought into effect all that was required was my ATM card and PIN. -
Not unknown for mail from the UK also to be similarly franked.

Doesn't this violate medical privacy "laws"? Not if he authorised the release of that information.

Any hard facts to support what you know? No, I thought not. The hard fact is the usual "We all know" hard fact b0llocks.

...and there is absolutely no proof that he is not there also. You do realise that if he was transferred back to Klong Prem you'd also have "absolutely no proof that he was there" either!?

It doesn't "matter" but it is of interest to some of the expat community to whom these articles are aimed. -
Mother suspected after 3 year old boy falls from apartment and dies

Read it. Nothing further explained. Obviously, you didn't read the full, linked Thaiger article...that or you can't read.
