  1. Yep, I've also noticed the stability of ilikehd has significantly dropped. Service via 365sport (sister company of ThaiexpatTV) is definitely better, even if it is more expensive. But I for one will be glad to not be at the mercy of the internet, as even 365 sport has the occasional outage at times, but no where near as bad as ilikehd.

  2. Not sure about away games, but I know tix for home matches being sold by a new co. called "house of ticket." You need to register by August 1st, which is when home tix for all 5 matches go on sale. Tix for just the Japan match at home 6th September go on sale 10th August.

  3. Got a Facebook message from True saying they have the licence for EPL and will announce details very soon. I asked about Bein Sports channel, which is due to be pulled, and the effect of UCL and La Liga. They said they will confirm details on this ASAP. I suspect they are probably putting together prices etc.... before making an official announcement.

  4. Spoke to TRUEvisions call centre today, who were quite helpful. Girl on the phone advised as it stands Bein sports channel is due to end 6th August, but negotiations are in process to retain it and an announcement will be made very soon.... She couldn't give me anymore info than this, but from the tone in her voice it sounded quite positive. Watch this space.

  5. The latest I've heard from a Thai friend with good media contacts, is that the whole contract for Bein Sports through Truevisons expires end of this month, even though Bein still have one more season for the rights in Thailand. TRUE are in negotiations but early stages. I can see this being a last minute job at this rate... TIT On the plus side, if TRUE do show it, they are pretty quick at installing systems, unlike CTH charlatans!

  6. I spoke to the Premier league press officer 3 years ago, when CTH were awarded the deal. One major stipulation is that the coverage of the rights holder in any region has to reach at least 90%. If not they will have broken contract. I asked this question as at the time CTH was cable only.

I will be astounded if TRUE don't show it. Obviously Bein don't have a platform here (yet). But they do have good relations with TRUE already for UCL.

I think the main stumbling block here could be surronding advertising revenue. TRUE may well want to organise their own sponsors, where Bein sports may not allow that. Bein also were looking for 50mil profit on the sub-licence, which is why CTH pulled out.

It could well be that TRUE only sign up a one year sub-licence, perhaps while Bein investigate getting on a satellite platform in SEA (Just my guess though). The deal also covers Cambodia and Laos. Could Bein buy out CTH?

For most there are other options via internet. But i for one would prefer a decent satellite deal. Nothing is worse watching the footy and there is an outage because of rain (Via astro with 365sport) or I like HD buffers. Both companies are good, but a satellite EPL package is better.

  7. I get a great deal with TRUE cable in Tonglor. 40MB internet and TV for 1100Bhat including tax! Includes Bein Sports and all TRUE Sport HD channels, except TRUE sport HD 1. ALL Spanish, Italian and MLS footy on there. All UCL on there too. Although the sneaky buggers appear to have put tonight's UCL semi, between Man City and Real Madrid on TS1. Thankfully it's also on TRUE4U channel, so happy days.

  8. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/business/PPTV-wins-right-to-live-EPL-matches-30284682.html

    <snip>

PPTV secured Free TV rights deal for 26 matches with Bein sport 2016-2019. TRUE said negotiations are ongoing, with a decision expected by June. TRUE exec already spoke of close ties with Bein, so I suspect it's just a case of the price they pay being hashed out.

Mod Edit: Per forum rules, and at the request of the Bangkok Post, no link here. Please.

  9. High pressing, wrong choice of words perhaps.... Closing down rapidly and in numbers more appropriate. Which the whole team has been doing all season, not just Vardy. United aren't great. If it wasn't for Rashford, they'd be no where near getting 4th spot. That game could go either way. A draw wouldn't be a disaster. Spurs still have Chelsea at away, which also is tricky, as they won't want their London rivals winning the title, especially Fabregas! :P Saints at home for them also tricky. Newcastle away last day will be unreal if they need something and Geordies need something to avoid the drop. We have Chelsea away last day, who will have nothing to play for by then. But JT's last game in a blue shirt might mean they put in a performance.

It's squeaky bum time and my fingers are a nervous shade of brown! :D

  10. Will be at Kingpower HQ Sunday night for Swansea match. Fingers crossed we sneak it without Vardy, as Swansea aren't that great and their manager has even said he wants to us to win the league.

Extra game ban for Vardy likely rules him out of Manyoo. With him we'd win that, without him unlikely.

Ranieri is a legend, deserves a statue, a knighthood and a road named after him, just for his achievements alone so far this season.

Key for tmrw is retaining the pace and high pressing game that has got us to where we are. Simple decison for Claudio is to go 4-4-1-1 with Okazaki and Mahrez down the middle, with probably Schlup on the wing. I would like to see him stick the young lad Darmian Gray in, but maybe a game that's too high profile for him at this stage in the season. Started against sprus in both cup games and has pace and a hell of a shot. His take down that played Vardy through for his 2nd Vs Sunderland was unreal. Ulloa is too slow to start with, impact sub last 20-30mins if we need him,

We're not one man team and we are fearless!

  11. A short book written by ex footballer Andy Ramage, detailing his experience on his first year sober.

On the back of this he has started a website. Here, people share blogs updating their progress and improvements in their life. There are also forums to discuss topics related to staying sober. You can choose to do the 30, 90 or full 365 day challenge.

He has advised me that there will soon be live webinars, so groups from all over the world can get together and chat about their sobriety.

Currently the only meetings are in UK, but that will expand. When I say meet ups, it's more fitness, sporty, or other types of fun hobbies we can actually do, when we have a clear head and are more focused on the goals we want to achieve.

So, if you're interested download the book from the website, a quick google search will find it. Go ahead and join the forums.

Hopefully I will be hosting a OYNB skype meet up in the future, for the Asia Pacific region. The UK has regular fitness and other activity meet ups too. Fingers crossed we can get something like that going here.

  12. Why not just go along and check if it's a "cult" for yourself. IMO just a group of people with issues, trying to work through them together. Nothing wrong with that.

In the modern day mindfulness is so widely promoted and used by many. Now people feel more comfortable in opening up to friends, fellows and peers and by gradually sharing what bothers them, end up better people.

  13. Nope can't post the link.... On another note, being as Newcastle, Spurs and United have supporter groups in BKK, I was thinking of setting one up for the mighty LCFC, so we can all watch games together in Bangkok. Post here if you would like to join and I'll try and organise a venue, if there is enough interest.

  14. Australia aren't the team they used to be. Saudis would be tough, but better than Korea or Japan, who should go through with ease. 2 groups of 6, top 2 qualify auto, 3rd place teams play off, who then play off again against play off winners from CONCACAF. Damn sight fairer playoff set up than last time, when Jordan had to playoff against Uruguay! Depending on the draw, a 3rd place finish isn't out of the question.

  15. Hi, I'm in Bangkok and I'm very interested in covering games in or nearby the city.

I've done some fanzone commentary for Skysports in The U.K previously. That's probably not the style you want, but I'm more than willing to provide a sound clip, if required

I know it's near the end of the season, but if I can get involved in anyway, please get in touch. My number 0828977090.

    Best Regards,

    Clive

  16. So, I have finished my ED visa. I have obtained a job and I am awaiting the necessary paperwork to go to Laos and get my Non B visa.

However, my ED visa expires 30th of September and the paperwork won't be ready until after that date. So, can I still go to Mai Sai and get 30 days stamp. Providing a flight / hotel booking for my Laos trip is possible.

Any recent experiences, or advice on the situation would be appreciated.

    Thanks.
