Good afternoon,
My daughter went for a trip outside Thailand and came back on 04th February.
This resets her 90 days reporting.
Can we report as usual online or have we got to go to immigration as this trip did reset the 90 days routine.
Thanks -

I don't think this would happen with the Thai submarine. The current one never leaves its moorings.
It's an eco friendly one.
No pollution at all.- 1

I live in Bangkok since before the SkyTrain was built.
Now there is less pollution than years ago. Many years ago, the small green busses were the worst of all of them. Then, years later, the red busses were still bad. Now I see only seldom vehicles with black smoke.
Personally, I got used to the pollution. I ride motorcycle in the middle of the city, and I don't think it feels worse on any month compared to another months.
I also go to bars where people smoke. I am so used to it that if you would ask me a day later if anybody was smoking in bar A or B I would be able to tell you. It was just "normal".
At home, living in a high floor, the air is cleaner. But for some month (I think worst is about January to March) I use an air purifier in the bedroom. That improves the air quality considerably.
For me I only need this when I sleep. Day time, sitting on a desk or sofa, I don't really know how good the air quality is.
True. I see far less buses pumping black smoke.
More often you see converted pick-up trucks with black smoke when they try to impress someone.

Yes but it can now take quite a while to get the notification back.
A friend of mine and daughter did their 90 days report 10 days ago and it still is "pending".

Move to Malaysia instead of Thailand over this tax issue....hahahaha....thanks for the good laugh. It's always good for a chuckle when expats in Thailand threaten to move to Malaysia. Of all the countries in the world Malaysia.....LOL
Keep horses back.
I did not say that I move to Malaysia. And by the way, I have a 5 year visa stamp in my passport. I can leave and come back as it suits me.

A retired foreigner cannot own a car in VN, so it’s a big NO to VN.
And in Malaysia, you can import your own car.

A friend of mine moved away from Bangkok in 2021.He works for "Makro".
Initially, he wanted just to do 2 years there and move back to Thailand and early retire in Huahin where he owned a house.Came back end 2022, sold the house and bought in VN. Not more looking back at TH.

I think everyone knows thailand is incompetent, but the point is that people are tired of ever changing rules and the lack of a stable climate.
I know a lot people who start to experiment living in vietnam etc instead, this is already a trend since before covid, only get worse by the Year.
Same thailand is more quiet by the year.
I thought about VN too but very difficult to get a visa.
Malaysia on the other hand... -

Sometimes you can find this price difference in the same building.
Now I know why.
My friend worked at the embassy.
Rent was paid through work and the price was 125k
Another friend's wife who is a lawyer from the UK, working here for an oil company, their rent is 118k a month, also paid through ex-pat package.

Which tree? I live close to "Tree" on Sukhumvit 40. Surely not that one.
Also the 120,000 rent for S47 is for large units that cost close to 29 million, not 22. Rent in Thailand is very negotiable. Anyway, that building seems to be a bit of an exception as it looks to be owner occupied mostly.
I mentioned the wrong condo in Ekkamai.
Not Tree but Rhythm.
68m2 easy around 50-60k in rent.
If you only pay 22k, that must be in an old building.
Can you name the building you are renting in Ekkamai at 22k?Would be interested.

Exactly. And that is the price for 60-70sqm 22 million thonglor condo that rents out for 70,000 baht a month. I can send you the endless links.
Also, I do not live in Isaan, I live in Ekkamai. I rent a 9 million baht condo for 26,000 a month.
I totally believe he is a smart businessman, but like every other fool that comes to Thailand he is absolutely clueless.
Really.
Have a look at S47.Rent 120k a month.
Happy for you. 26k in Ekkamai is a good deal.
Have a look at Tree condo in Ekkamai.
60m2 2 bed, 2 bath.60k

He should be grateful if Thailand implements the laws. The 22 million thonglor condo probably rents for 70,000 baht maximum. Probably saved this fool a lot of money long run.
You do not have a clue.
70k in Thong Lor rents you a 60m2 condo. He's not a fool. A very smart business man.
Sure, in Isaan, you can build a mansion for 5 Million.
Have a look at Nana station, there is a condo, prices up to 140 Million Baht.
I had a look at Tree condo in Ekkamai. 68m2, 70k a month.

By now, everyone knows about the proposed taxes on "tax residents".
From "aliens" to "tax residents".
I am in touch with some friends who are/were considering to move to Thailand.
Friend one:He sold his business a few months ago and is planning to move with his wife and 13 year old son to Thailand.
All taxes paid and doesn't owe anything.
He is in his early 50's.
He was very far ahead in his planning to move to BKK beginning of 2024.He was in advanced talks to buy a nice condo in the Thong Lor area.
Price: 22,000.000 Baht
Furniture:
Probably another 2-3 Million Baht
Intended to buy a new Mercedes:
Price: 4,500.000 Baht
School fee for son:
Price: Around 750,000Baht a year plus extras
Private Health Insurance for the 3:
Around 120k a year
They love to dine out and travel.
So let's say: 28,500.000 baht straight spending on condo, furniture and car.
750k schoolAverage monthly spending including dining out and trips inside Thailand/
First year of staying in Thailand: 100kx12= 1,2 Million Baht.
120k health insurance
That's almost 31 Million Baht which would be spend in year one
He was applying to get a non-immi O_A
The money he would use to buy all things mentioned above come from his savings, accumulated in the years before.
No money from the sale of his business would be used.As he reads about the new tax, he is inquiring about the MM2H visa and probably move to Malaysia.
He doesn't like to mess around and wants to plan his futures around facts.
Another friend , already living in Thailand was considering to buy land around HuaHin (in his wife's name/Thai) and build a house. Quotes around 18-20 Million baht.
He also abandoned this idea and continues to rent instead.Next person I know put a deposit down on a brand new BMW electric SUV: Price: Around 6 Million Baht.
Delivery early 2024He got out of the contract, lost his 50k deposit.
No new car anymore. The money they think they will extract from farangs and the money they will finally get..
Do not spend the money you do not have or think you will get soon.
They were expecting to get 20 Million Chinese in with a 2000Baht visa fee.
That's 40 Billion baht they were already planning with and spending it.
See: the 10k digital wallet which will cost 350 Billion Baht.I will be very careful with what I buy here. Rent, don't buy.
New car? why
Travelling inside Thailand and getting taxed on the money I spend here? No, there are beautiful neigbouring countries.
Don't P.... off the people who feed you.
The Kasakhs, Chinese group tours will not save you.- 8

Wait:
We, the ones who live here were only "aliens".
Now, as they want to tax us, suddenly we are "residents".Now, they want to tax us when travelling and coming back to Thailand. Now we are "tourists".
Get your act together and don't treat us to solve your financial problems.
Scrap first your 10,000 baht payout which makes no sense at all and there is no money to fund this 530 BILLION BAHT adventure.- 3

The prime minister’s monthly pay includes 75,590 baht in salary and 50,000 baht in entitlement pay in addition to allowances to be provided for his chairing or attending official meetings.
Now I understand why they are wanting to tax "farang".
Many retirees living here earn more then the PM of Thailand 555- 1

Yes - I agree - but being prepared rather than reacting late 'oh bugger what do I do now' is a wise move IMO.
If you really think that this is not potentially a huge problem (for some of us) then read this:
Sending a large money transfer to Thailand? What to know about taxes | Xe Blog
Quote: Income Tax The gift tax might or might not apply when you send money to Thailand, but the income tax almost always applies. Additionally, Thailand’s tax penalties are rather harsh. High fines and even jail time are rather common, even for rather innocent mistakes.
Penalties and interest on unpaid taxes are usually 1.5% per month. So, by the time the revenue department notices the error and sends a notice, the taxpayer might already owe thousands of baht in penalties and interest. Fines for unpaid taxes usually run between about ฿1,000 THB ($33 USD) and ฿200,000 THB ($6,700 USD).
Banks are legally required to report all remittance and other international funds transactions. So, even if recipients do not get a form, if they do not add the remittance amount to their income, it’s only a matter of time before the revenue department notices the delinquency and takes action.
On a related note, when you send money to Thailand, especially if the transfer is large, Thai law requires senders to specify the purpose.
IMO it is always better to know about it and make plans, than to find out too late and then your planning is rushed and under a cloud of hectic worry. IMO cooly and calmly planning for things now is a wise move. But as the Thai girls always say - 'up to you'.
But as the Thai girls always say - 'up to you'.
And they say: You are thinking too much.

You may enjoy it, but your Ranger will suffer in silence until one of the bearings rots out, the brakes corrode away, or its electrical system starts throwing error messages.
Until now, never a single problem in 4 years.
The only thing I changed was the battery. A very reliable car.

Agreed.... Well, I wouldn't take an MG through it anyway !!!
Seriously, though... Don't all modern vehicles have sealed bearings ?
The rain gets so heavy here at times, driving through heavy rain even when the roads are not flooded could be problematic otherwise.
Flooding such as this, which is not completely uncommon is just one of the reasons I have an SUV....
I've been in too many situations over years in a regular sedan where I can feel and hear the flood water lapping at the underside of the car... Its not a comfortable feeling and happens less in something slightly higher (even a few cm can make the difference).
My Ranger enjoys driving through the floods.
