  1. I came back from Pattaya last week.
Went to see a friend who opened a bakery.

Drove some backroads to reach to motorway.
Before entering motorway, I saw some police officers, stopping cars, especially with foreigners.
A few foreigners were already out of their cars.

One police off. came to me and asked driving license.
I had to park a bit further.
Didn't ask for road tax or insurance or car documents.
    Asked for my passport.
I told him, he has my driving license in his hands and I don't have my passport on me but a photo on my phone.
I had to step out of my car.
He was looking at my phone when I was searching the right picture.
I told him to give me a bit of privacy and don't stare at my phone.
I showed him my passport page and visa stamp.
He insisted to make a photo of it with his phone.
Later I had to stand in front of my car and he wanted to take a picture.
I asked him what the problem is and that I will call a friend in BKK.
I called and my friend took the call.
Quickly I got my drivers license back and off I went.

Many got sick and and now, she's home with Covid and mom got it too.

I know quite a lot of people who are off work and sick because of Covid.

As long as your phone is charged up and has a 4g/5g sim card, why would a power cut affect it?

But I'm with you on preferring cash, especially given that some of my spending wouldn't look too good on my monthly credit card statement.

Some girls have now a QR code tattooed and to pay them, just scan the code and pay.
Ask your bank to put it through as "somtum" for the wife.

    yeah ^^^.

Madam does it all the time.

If she gets bored with a piece it gets sold (for the current gold scrap value) and she gets a new piece for an effective couple of k Baht.

Of course, if I am within range, the bit she wants is rather heavier then the previous ...

There must soon be an auction in Pattaya, organised by the "ladyboy goldchain organisation".
    Indian bidders not welcomed.

  5. Yes.
Came yesterday back from Pattaya and it felt like there were a few million Indians.
Worth is, if they bring their wifes along.
Queue jumping like crazy. Went to a park and a few Indian women tried to go to the front of the queue. They were quickly put back into their place. Even their indian husbands were embarrassed.

Lots of buses, touring the Indians around but also saw many big bellied farang, walking around, showing off their naked belly. No respect at all.

  6. Wait until it happens to those "thousands of Youtubers".
Some have to show off their whole life.
Tell their story about back home, the money they made, the house they build in Thailand etc.
Some make a whole house tour and show the security system etc.
Each trip they make is published.

Wait until their house is broken in and later, insurance says "NO".

Who needs to publish their whole life?
Probably they need some income to survive in Thailand and wait until someone wakes up and cracks down on them because they life in Thailand and work in Thailand, most without any work permit.

Before I provide my own reasons for wishing to live in Scotland, before I die, let me refer you to this link:

    https://www.scotland.org/live-in-scotland

In addition to warm and friendly people, vibrant cities, and stunning scenery, I also enjoy the humor of Scotland.

    Also, culture.

Equally importantly, I like the architecture.

There are many things I like about Scotland.

If I listed my likes, concerning Scotland, then I would, once more, be accused of posting too much, and writing too much, on any given thread, on this forum.

I think Scotland is right for me.

Years ago, many moons ago, I thought China was right for me.  And, it was.  But then the political winds changed, and China is no longer for me.

Thailand is like heaven on earth, for sure.

Yet, after so many years in Asia, maybe I need to get back to my roots.

You might not know this, but, some of my ancestry is Scottish.

Some of my roots might even have originated from the House of Stuart, although I cannot prove it.

One thing is for sure; I can trace my lineage back to Scotland.

Therefore, why wouldn't I wish to return home to see the land of some of my forebears?

Furthermore, I like the peace and quiet of a village in Scotland.

Maybe I like living in a house of stone, rather than in a house of reinforced concrete.

    Many reasons, actually.

    Lived 10 years in Scoltand.

    My daughter was born there.

    I enjoyed it a lot.
