Trump surrenders for historic fourth arrest
There are 4 criminal indictments. The rest is just noise. Well this should have been to your other post but so what. This guy -- obviously for other reasons -- was underestimated in 2016 and I don't want to see that happen again.

Trump surrenders for historic fourth arrest
With all the criminal indictments, in the USoA at least one is presumed innocent until proven by a jury otherwise.

Trump surrenders for historic fourth arrest
I am not saying that he shouldn't be charged in the 4 criminal trials or that I think he will get off in any of them, just that there is a bit too much slam -dunkism on these topics for my taste.

And another likely older legal maxim: Ei incumbit probatio qui dicit, non qui negat. The burden of the proof lies upon him who affirms, not he who denies.

Giuliani to surrender to authorities in Georgia election probe
Judge schedules Trump codefendant Ken Chesebro for October trial in racketeering case The expedited trial date does not apply — at least for now — to Donald Trump or any other defendants in the Georgia case. A Georgia state judge has scheduled an Oct. 23 racketeering trial for Kenneth Chesebro, one of 18 codefendants charged by local prosecutors alongside Donald Trump in a plot to subvert the 2020 election. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis asked the judge, Scott McAfee, Thursday to schedule the trial for all 19 defendants on that date, an unexpectedly rapid timeline that Willis proposed in response to Chesebro’s formal demand for a speedy trial. But McAfee indicated that “at this time” he would only expedite the trial date for Chesebro. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/08/24/fulton-county-prosecutors-ask-judge-to-set-oct-23-trial-on-trump-racketeering-charges-00112816

Giuliani to surrender to authorities in Georgia election probe
Not to disagree with the above but the association of Trump and Giuliani goes back a long ways: Kiss and tell: A brief history of Rudy Giuliani and Donald Trump The history of President Donald Trump and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani's long-running friendship Trump supports Giuliani for mayor In 1989, Giuliani was the former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and an aspiring mayoral candidate and Trump was a real estate mogul who placed full-page ads in New York newspapers calling for the death penalty for the Central Park Five, a group of black and Latino teenagers from Harlem who were accused, convicted and imprisoned for a rape it later turned out they didn’t commit. That year, Trump co-chaired Giuliani’s first campaign fundraiser. He also donated $3,000 to Giuliani’s campaign. https://www.cityandstateny.com/personality/2018/05/kiss-and-tell-a-brief-history-of-rudy-giuliani-and-donald-trump/178512/

Final moments before Pride flag killing emerge, along with disturbing portrait of gunman Aug. 22, 2023 Updated 4:28 PM PT According to an acquaintance of Carleton who watched closed-circuit video of the shooting, Ikeguchi seemed to pause in the moment before he shot Carleton, as if considering what he was about to do. “He then almost flinched as if thinking twice but then went for it, grabbed the gun and then aimed it and shot Lauri,” said the acquaintance, who requested anonymity because the video did not belong to him. “That caused her to fall back onto the floor, and then the door swung closed, and then he shot one shot through that door and then took off. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-08-22/who-was-travis-ikeguchi-shooter-in-lake-arrowhead-pride-flag-killing https://archive.is/amr74#selection-1263.1-1263.89- Man kills shopkeeper in US state of California after disparaging Pride flag
Suicide by cop Suicide by cop, also known as suicide by police or law-enforcement-assisted suicide, is a suicide method in which a suicidal individual deliberately behaves in a threatening manner, with intent to provoke a lethal response from a public safety or law enforcement officer to end their own life. There are two broad categories of "suicide by cop". ... The second version involves people who are already contemplating suicide and who decide to provoke law enforcement into killing them. These individuals may commit a crime with the specific intention of provoking a law enforcement response. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_by_cop- Man kills shopkeeper in US state of California after disparaging Pride flag
Who was Travis Ikeguchi? Shooter in pride flag killing posted far-right, anti-LGBTQ content AUG. 22, 2023 2:16 PM PT Court documents and a few social media posts paint a narrow picture of Ikeguchi’s troubled life, a young man struggling to make ends meet and support his mother while falling further into an abyss of social media conspiracy theories and hate-fueled rhetoric online. “I know it’s controversial for me to mention the option to kill a police officer, but these police officers are not the servants for the people they are the servants for the laws,” a post in 2021 reads. The posts belie the fact that Ikeguchi was the son of a Florida Highway Patrol state trooper and firearms instructor who had reached the level of “master trooper,” according to court filings. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-08-22/who-was-travis-ikeguchi-shooter-in-lake-arrowhead-pride-flag-killing https://archive.is/bIIpK#selection-1263.1-1263.92- Trump proposing April 2026 trial in federal Jan. 6 indictment
As noted on different topic, Trump's lawyers said: "In a 16-page filing, attorney Gregory Singer argued for the defense team that putting Trump on trial as requested by prosecutors on Jan. 2, 2024, ... would mark a “rush to trial” that would violate his constitutional rights and be “flatly impossible” given the enormity of the government’s evidence." They raise a constitutional issue which would be for an appeal of any ruling so it seems they do not expect the sitting Judge to agree to their current motion. https://archive.is/2djnJ#selection-505.0-513.150- Trump proposing April 2026 trial in federal Jan. 6 indictment

He was fleeing on foot and fired back at the police when they caught up with him. And one report says that his family reported him missing yesterday. Also sounds like maybe there was a suicide-by-police element.- Trump says he will be arrested on Thursday in Georgia election case
In election cases, experts say Trump’s rhetoric will be hard to police Trump advisers see a win-win scenario in pretrial skirmishes over what he can say about indictments At her first hearing overseeing the 2020 election obstruction case against former president Donald Trump, U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan tried to draw a line in the sand: “I intend to keep politics out of this.” Legal experts say that will be a tricky — perhaps impossible — task, especially in a criminal prosecution in which politicians or their aides are the alleged perpetrators, witnesses and victims, and the defendant is running for president. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/08/21/trump-rhetoric-indictments-threats/ https://archive.li/0BrEg- Man kills shopkeeper in US state of California after disparaging Pride flag
A spokesperson for the sheriff's department told NBC News that the incident is being investigated as a potential hate crime, but officials did not elaborate when asked at the Monday press conference. However, officials said Monday that Ikeguchi — a resident of Cedar Glen, California — had a history of making posts that were critical of the LGBTQ community and law enforcement on multiple social media platforms, including X, formerly known as Twitter. https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-news/suspect-named-fatal-shooting-california-store-owner-pride-flag-rcna101085- Man kills shopkeeper in US state of California after disparaging Pride flag

For 2022 rape-defamation case, the $5 million is already in an escrow account pending the appeal.- Trump appeals verdict finding him liable for sexual assault
This topic is about an appeal. The above may or may not have anything to do with an appeal. This is the first sentence from the narrative of the appeal: Appellee-Plaintiff, E. Jean Carroll’s (“Plaintiff”) contentions arise out of an alleged sexual assault which she claims occurred at the Bergdorf Goodman store in New York, New York on an uncertain date “between the fall of 1995 and the spring of 1996.” Below is part of the form summitted to the appeals court noting that the appeal intends to raise a Constitutional issue. My guess is at least one point of the appeal as a Constitutional issue will deal with the fact that Trump was deprived of any alibi defense by the above reference to the "uncertain" date of occurrence even given that this was a civil and not criminal trial.- Trump appeals verdict finding him liable for sexual assault
Just to note this ruling involves the original defamation-only so called Carroll I suit Ms. Carroll filed in 2020 when Trump was still President. It is not about the so-called Carroll II suit filed in 2022 for defamation and rape that Ms. Carroll filed in 2022 under the NY State temporary waiver of statute of limitations for sexual assault type claims and for which Trump was found liable and has posted a $5 million deposit pending appeal on that -- and which is the case referenced in the OP this topic.- Medical Insurance.
