MPs to get booster shots before next ordinary session

That is correct. Vaccines do not stop you getting Covid but they reduce the severity of the infection. -
Thailand to cease Sinovac vaccine use when stocks end this month
Khun Yogi replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
This whole vaccine roll out debacle just shows you how useless this Govt. really is. Tests in China proved that one shot of Sinovac was less that 25% effective against Delta, but the Govt kept buying it and using it at a higher cost than many other vaccines. Now those that had two shots of Sinovac need a third shot.!!!!!! The Govt knew about this problem 4-5 months ago but they still kept buying it and using it. Moderna is another debacle. Many people paid for this 3 months ago and it still isn't here. So Pinnochio and his puppets really need a reality check. -

Curfew ????? What Curfew???? Check out Thepprasit Soi 8 after curfew begins. Its nothing more than a race track for extremely noisy, high speed motorbikes from when curfew starts until about 1 am. Even with my double glazed windows l still get woken up. We have never seen a useless cop in the area since curfew started and very rarely during daylight. just about as bad as the wild west, or should l say east ??

Thai airport workers seek compensation for lost lunch breaks

While l sympathize with the workers if they are being wronged, they must remember they are lucky to have a job. Millions have lost their employment. -
The Govt/Police said a few days ago that phone companies must delete unsolicited messages such as this. Just saw a pig fly past !!!!!

Tipping is not mandatory but hard working Thais appreciate a small tip. 15 to 20 baht seems to be the norm depending on the size of the bill. Be careful though. Some bigger places add service charge and VAT on top of the bill. That's where it has ++ on the menu. l never use those places as l don't believe the staff get the service charge. However l did get caught Saturday. Went to Witherspoon's on Bua Khao. Got charged 7% VAT on my bill. No mention of it on the small menu l saw. l believe the establishments are meant to show extra charges clearly. Simple answer. l won't go back.

Pattaya ready to open to foreign tourists on Oct 1: Mayor
Khun Yogi replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Not many of my Thai friends in Pattaya have had there first jab yet let alone two. Those that have had a jab are only getting Sinovac which by independent Chinese testing is only 23% effective against Delta. After a second jab of AZ immunity does improve to around 70%, so do you think tourists would risk coming here.? They need full 70-80% herd immunity first, then consider opening up. l think 1st November is more realistic. And remember even after a second jab it takes several weeks to give you good immunity. -
In previous posts it says that he was in the Social Security system. When his business closed he would have been given 6 months cover under the SS system, then you are on your own. Thai's can pay B400/month and remain in the system but foreigners can't. This is another failing of Govt policy. l have been though this myself, and at my age l can't get private medical insurance. At his age though he should have a private medical policy. Basically this is a case of extortion. l have just been through the same with another Govt entity. Pay this bill even though it is wrong or else.
