As I said in the OP he's a big hitter at the temple she goes to so he'll be getting the benefit of the doubt or he may just be a really good bloke I really don't know, but most of the comments regarding this post are that the system is not functioning as it should

I've met him once when he came to seal a leak (there was a small damp patch on the ceiling) he didn't (or wouldn't ??) speak any English and the Mrs was struggling to understand anything technical, my initial post was aimed at any solar users with a similar set up and whether my system was producing what would be expected, I'm not in any way an expert but was under the impression from what the Mrs said originally that it would pay for itself in 2 to 5 years ? although he could have meant Jupiter years which now seems closer to the mark

Cheers for the explanation, the 19W figure was on the screenshot of the phone app i didn't realise i had screenshotted it when it was dark so it was hardly generating when i took the figures today at 11.42am the generated power on the app was 1706W with 1702W used and 4W going back to the grid and it now says todays generated power is 7.8Kw but the actual box on the wall is saying Etoday 7.86kWh I tend to agree with you that the Pac and the app figures are probably the power being generated in real time. The booklet supplied with the installation says there are 8 Mono 540W solar panels as i said in the OP i wasn't here for the install so never actually saw the panels but i have attached a pic of the bloke fitting them for some size perspective (I cant get on the roof as my knee is Knacked) is it too simplistic to assume that 8 x 540W panels generating in perfect sunny conditions would produce around 4000W ?? Thanks again

It doesn't make any sense to me either that's why i consulted the experts

The 1st reading with all the electric appliances turned off read, Normal Pac = 1642W All the appliances (4xAC units, lights TVs fridge freezers etc) were switched on the display read, Normal Pac = 3W If i press the button on the RHS it gives a different display like Upv1, Ipv1, Vac, not sure if these readings are of of any use regarding the fitness of the system but i have pics if required The reading now is Normal Pac = 350W with 2 x Fridge freezers and 1 AC unit 17000 btu running at 27 degrees which is normal daytime usage hope this makes sense , Freq, Etoday and Etotal not sure if these would

I'll check the inverter display in the morning I've attached a screenshot of the app home screen and it appears to be exporting 3 w to the grid and 16 w to the house any further explanation would be greatly appreciated TIA

Angle looks ok and there is no shading until the sun goes behind the trees around 5 pm looking on the app for January the generated power is 3, 7, 2.6 and 4 kWh today could it be down to a bad connection or some other problem you may have heard of before ?

Its a PSI P33 it says on the adverts I've just seen the break even point is 5 years (It doesn't say if that's Dog years or Giant Turtle years tho) got a feeling my grandkids will be reaping the benefits

According to the app In November it generated 90 kWh and December 107 kWh, there wasn't any rain and not many cloudy days as i remember, I'm trying to find the paperwork see if it has any details on it

As i said in my OP i wasn't here when it was installed or i would have had a few questions and as the installer is a big hitter at the temple so he couldn't possibly be up to Owt nefarious

Thanks for that, it seems the service cost is the same as the UK standing charge, I also wasn't aware that there were different rates for kW/h usage, still not sure what the Ft value is tho
-
Hi all I got some solar panels fitted last year (well the Mrs did when I was in the UK by a bloke who's a big hitter at the temple she goes to) I'm basically trying to figure out if they're saving me much money. My main problem is I cant decipher the electric bill very well I cant see a price per unit (if I divide the nett energy cost by the number of units used its always slightly different but around 4 baht) then there's the monthly service cost (I'm assuming this is like the standing charge in the UK) then there is the FT value which seems to fluctuate from bill to bill I don't know what FT stands for either. I've got an app that tells me what the solar panels are generating but not sure how it correlates with the PEA bill. Simple replies only please my heads a bit like a 50 bob cabbage these days TIA

Fast Track thru Suvarnabhumi
LoeiI replied to jimmybcool's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I must have flown into BKK 30+ times over the years and i have never noticed this fast track lane how long has it been there ? -

Its spraying the well water, the Mrs just spoke to the farmer next door he said the Tapien are more susceptible to oxygen depletion than the other species and for better aeriation to pump the well water in about a meter under the surface so I've got the sexiest pipe fitter in Thailand on with it as we speak
-
I put a sprinkler on the water supply yesterday hoping the aeriation of the water might help but another 30 dead this morning as I said earlier there must be 7 or 8 different species of fish in the pond but all the dead fish (probably over 100 by now) are all pla tapien. I'm at a bit of a loss really as I top the pond up every year with the well water use the same fish food maybe the tapien are just more susceptible to oxygen depletion which other than a species specific disease is all I can think is causing it, the only thing that has changed in the last 4 years is that the fish are obviously a bit bigger.
-
The Mrs uses the well water for her veg garden, trees and flowers and they all seem ok, she thinks the fish may have a disease mind you the other day she also said they could be having a heart attack because I catch them and then put them back
-
I now use the well water for the house supply (I got a water filter fitted and the bloke tested the well water and the supply from the village tower and said the well water was much cleaner) the water i pumped into the pond didn't go through the filters but straight from the well and the end of the pipe was about 1m from the pond so it was making a little bit of a splash as it entered. I did notice before sunset a lot of pla tapien were close to the surface and looked as though they could be struggling a bit
-
The ponds been dug for about 4 years and its never happened before, i populated it with fry and they've grown naturally carp catfish pla nin pla ni and pla tapien some up to around 2.5 kilos I suppose it could be getting over populated so maybe more oxygen is required ?. I have noticed the dead fish are quite Red which they aren't normally

Hi all I have a small fishing pond (35m x 15m) next to the house and during the dry season the water level falls quite significantly so I topped it up with water that i pumped from my well, over the last few days I've found about 30 to 40 fish floating on the surface, I have a mix of fish species in the pond but all the dead fish are pla tapien, has anybody got any suggestions ? I am assuming it may be lack of oxygen but no other species seem to be affected, any help greatly appreciated TIA
