As happens all too often here, you make claims and can't back them up, with reputable sources indicating your claims are false

Steven. I have been a commercial manager in IBM for many years and have a masters in accounting and finance. Part of my job is to keep contracts running and looking at the current county’s situation with my contracts. I have contracts worth multi millions and I happily run them each year. I find your responses somewhat small fry, as I love to read daily reports of most countries. Especially Turkey that is also going tits up at the moment.

But hey, you are just a NAME on this forum and have no background knowledge of the person behind it.

I stand by my claim of -2.5 to -2.6% retraction of the economy this year 2021 in Thailand.

    regards

    Ben

I will still stick with my prediction of 20,000 official cases per day by the end of next week.

It is clear to see with worldometer to keep the trend rising and over 30k+ in 12 days time.
looking at Europe and the UK, plus the USA on worldometer and how their cases rose exponentially in the historical data, is clear to see and calculate. This isn’t fake news, it is a forecast on previous country’s data and Thailand’s current data. Just to make sure and numbers have not been wrong on historical data of Europe, UK, and the USA .

However, what is a primary factor to the reporting, is if the country still submits valid and real data, and that are still enough PCR tests to keep testing in Thailand.

    Hi Steven.

    thanks for the links.

To start with Thailand’s economy retracted -6.1% in 2020.

    source world bank.

    https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.KD.ZG?locations=TH

second,  Bloomberg continues to see reduced GDP and it is only getting worse with forecasts.

So Steven, I have included links for you. The kpmg report of up to -2.6% GDP again this year I am still looking for again.

I hope this has made you happier you have valid links.

    regards

  4. As I said yesterday.

with the exponential rise of cases daily, within two weeks Thailand will be in the 30,000+ per day, if they have enough PCR test kits, and if all the figures are added daily.

The graph supplied daily (above) in this article shows the current rise and is possible to calculate if the current trend keeps rising.

It is also quite funny to see mitigating circumstances of prisoners to show that they are added separately. I wonder what other group will be added soon to mitigate the numbers further of non-important numbers?

  5. I am an historian of Asian war campaigns. One of the best books which was a PHD thesis and used today at Sandhurst and Westpoint. Is

‘Street without Joy. By Bernard Fall.

it categorizes the political and the military perspective from BOTH sides during the loss of Indochina. Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and the run up to the American war.

    Next.

‘Chicken hawk’ by Robert Mason. He was a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam war. Now classed as a mini classic.

There are funny times and hard times. A great book.

if you want more about the wars in Asia, please let me know as I have over 60 books that I read and have read as a historian of the region.

    regards

  6. You only need to look at the Bank of Thailand and the World bank figures  and forecasts to see that growth will be as low as -2.5%
    yes that is minus.

Thailand has run out of money and is nearly bankrupt.
That is not BS. That is fact.

This is why they are pushing tourism and money back into the country, as Thailand is basically bankrupt without the worldwide press. Hence the money being pumped into the economy. But that will lead to inflation next year.

I stand by my claims and I stand as a finance expert to show you this post next year when inflation passes nearly 3%

  7. My view is this.

everybody in Thailand as expats have been blind to all that has been happening worldwide. You have not read outside news, neither have you worried about Covid due to the low cases.
Now that covid is raging and will rage across the world (as you cannot stop a virus), all expats are panicking and asking so many questions that are easily answered and have been answered in the USA, Europe.

So, my advice to all expats that are now panicking, read up before you ask so many silly questions that are available in the mainstream media worldwide as TRUTH, and not conspiracy, or Thai pacification.

  8. Again.

Thailand Aims to inoculate 50 million people by the end of this year.

more future promises that cannot be kept.

As we speak the current vaccine stockpile today 28th July 2021 is 10,000.

This is in ASEAN REPORTS AND POSTS TODAY.

100 million doses to fully vaccinated 50 million people is not possible, and not even achievable in any country today. Even Germany, France, UK, cannot purchase 100 million doses.

so this is a fallacy and a complete false. I go far beyond to call it a lie. But I do believe it is a target non achievable.

  9. Should have signed up for Covax instead of playing political gains making AZ the local producer, thinking they could make money in SE Asia.
3 Million doses DONATED to Vietnam by COVAX arrives in HCMC...
Not 'to be administered', 'will be administered', 'going to be administered'
These vaccines are delivered and on the ground in Vietnam !!

  10. This is somewhat hard to believe that a fish had 3 of them.

finding a pearl naturally is extremely rare. I was lucky to find a small irregular pearl earring oysters in France during the 90’s but it was just for sentimental value as the shape made it worthless.

There must be an oyster farm somewhere in the vicinity that has lost some strings of its attachment. Oysters are glued or tied to the strings and attached,  so they have not been able to escape, and hence, the finds due to predators eating these.
A sure way to find out if they are cultured is to X-ray them to see if there is a small bead in the middle and was inserted. Otherwise if they are natural, it is a billion to 1 chance 3 turn up in the same fish.

Therefore, I am very scriptural of the whole story.

  11. It seems to me that all expats cannot live without alcohol!! That is a shame. Maybe we will have some valid and sober messages and inputs into this forum over the next 2 days with sober people that always moan and groan.

I hope you wake up peacefully without the normal run to the toilet to poo liquid with the amount of alcohol your body cannot digest. Also I hope you do wake up peacefully. That is a sober way to wake up. It is great.

It's the service sector that has been shut down not manufacturing or commodity producers. What manufactured goods does China buy from North America? Pay for the shipping and there would be plenty of containers sent back

    Thanks for the reply.

But I think you are somewhat misinformed or non realistic to the reealization on containers and how they work. Most shipping companies always have full containers East 2 West and vice versa. Most raw materials to fuel the mass production in China comes from around the world. Including Europe North and South America. Plus Australia and SE Asia. China is a production powerhouse. It does not have the natural resources and materials underground !! They need to import to produce and export !

please take a look into the global production windmill a bit further.

    thanks.
