    OK.

    Here are my suggestions:

    a.  Buy a breadmaker machine. Buy bread flour. Bake your own bread.

    b.  Buy a large Panasonic rice cooker.  Cook your own rice.

    c.  Buy eggs. You can buy 120 chicken eggs for a fraction of the cost you might pay for two deliveries of food on a motorbike.

    d.  Buy a large refrigerator where you can store food.

    e.  Use your large refrigerator's freezer compartment to store about 10 pounds of broccoli. This vegetable is both healthy and tasty, and freezes well.

    f.  Buy soy sauce, fish sauce, hot sauce, and other sauces.

    g.  Buy 60 cans of tuna, either oil packed or packed in spring water.

    h.  Buy a few liters of high grade cooking oil.

    i.   Find a nearby eatery which will sell you omelettes, and buy 10 glong. Each glong should have one omelette.  And each omelette should have 5 eggs.

If you are satisfied with eating tuna, omelettes, freshly baked bread, broccoli, and soybean oil, every day, then you should have no difficulties.

I would not suggest to you anything that I am not willing to do myself.

    Eggs are healthy.

You should have more of them.

    Good luck.

Not a bad recommendation. I probably won't go as far as to buy a refrigerator, but I used to cook food in 1-week batches a long time ago here and it took about 2-3 hours once per week.

Was mostly chicken breasts, brown rice, tuna, that sort of thing.

If I don't find any other solution I'll go back to that. I'll still keep looking around.

Can't wait for your next post.

I've been living in a detached house in a gated village for the last 20 years.

Detached houses come with a whole lot of noisy issues, you're in Thailand, good luck mate.

Let's see how that plays out. I'm not bothered by neighbors' noise, and use headphones most of the day. The problems are mostly related to privacy, and of course freedom to do what I want without having to worry about bothering a neighbor for taking a late call or typing too loud.

Suggest the OP to contact Aseannow sales for future marketing attempts of "Healthy Food By Mint".

Though, admittedly, had I lived in CNX, I might give it a shot.

More masking, Decaptcher... don't make it such an obvious advertising attempt.

I thought that me making a whole post about looking for a soundproof condo in the past days would be enough cover? ????

Anyway, jokes aside, serious recommendations please? I'm looking for some options.

  4. I'm looking for a subscription meal delivery service as an alternative to Healthy Food By Mint that covers the San Pa Pao sub district, specifically Thanaporn Park Home5.

I've been using them for a couple of months in my current location. Not a single problem, but unfortunately they do not cover that area.

    Just to be clear:

    • I already use Foodpanda / Grab / Tuk, but I'm looking for something that would get me covered from Monday to Friday, set and forget.
    • Not looking for in-house cook. At least, as a last resort I would be open to get someone to shop for ingredients, cook meals and freeze for 1-2 weeks, but seems a bit of a hassle so I'd like to avoid it.
    • I've seen Muscle Meals CNX, but haven't contacted them yet. Anyone tried them?

In general, the healthier the food, the better (Chicken breast, vegetables, etc.). I don't have any particular needs honestly, just trying to eat less like an animal ????.

  5. Thought I'd post an update.

Of all the proposed solutions, I chose to rent a detached house and will move out soon. It will be a PITA, but hopefully worth it.

What comes next is mostly me complaining about construction ????.

The situation has become unacceptable. I've received a lot of recommendations regarding how to deal with neighbor noise, but again, just in case it wasn't clear, this is not about noisy neighbors, but very normal daily routine sounds.

To give you an example, typing at the computer or even the click of a mouse is something that can be heard between the units. I rely a lot on the computer, and lately I can't even do that past 19PM. In my book, that's not my fault or the neighbors, but of whoever built the condo like this to turn a cheap profit.

It's sad, because a very good condo, with well-maintained facilities, perfect location, reasonably priced, it's completely ruined by this huge problem. At least in my case, knowing this, I would never invest in a condo in the future and certainly stick to a house.

    Thanks for all the recommendations!

I actually lived in D Condo for several months.. there was some noise but not too bad and predictable in timing.. one family would let the little children run and scream down the hallway on the way to scxhool in the morning - but I was awake and it was brief... and at night there was some music late but not long and I have no idea where it was coming from...

I did find an older very quiet friendly building in town... pm me if you want info..

my larger issue w/D Condo was no convenience store nearby... and it was a long way to go around the block.. and walking to Central for some milk was also inconvient..

    That's great.

Thanks for the recommendation. I lived in an older condo before, but I think I'll go for a house and be done with it.

Regarding the convenience store, I know what you mean. They actually opened a 7 eleven right in front of the condos last year, it was a blessing! Nonetheless, I usually use grab/foodpanda for deliveries and everything always arrive in 20-25m.

the noise you describe is the reason why i would never live in a condo here.

my Spain appt is exactly the same.

it is virtually impossible to sound proof a condo.

if you build a new partition wall, you need a gap between the new and the old.

noise will still pentetrate through electric sockets, down the pillars, etc, etc.

You need to move to a detached house, on a Moo Ban, (a village) in a good location with security.

I rent such a place in Hua Hin, a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, fully furnished detached house for 11,000 a month, and I am never disturbed by a dog, music, or anything.......oh.........I tell a lie........there is a young Thai girl that screams a lot with excitement.........why do young Thai girls always scream?????

In the meantime, buy a couple of noisy fans and have them near your bed.

Saves money on aircon, and the constant noise of the fans is the same as White Noise

also, the ear plugs you can buy, the orange, squidgy ones.

This is actually a very good recommendation, thank you!

And the investment is even more contained that some condos that wouldn't solve the problem at all. I think I'll give it a thought.

Regarding tiling a wall, I thought about it, but it's probably not the best place to do so. I wouldn't mind having an entire room tiled in a house, but for a corner office in a Condo it seems too much. Also investigated other options (Mobile soundproof curtains, indoor boxes for meetings, etc.), but they looked like too much trouble too in comparison to just renting a house.

  8. The fact that I kind of lucked out in the unit location (Last floor, almost end of corridor, next to emergency stairways, empty front and adjacent units for years) is one of the main reasons I'm hesitant to moving out right away.

Might just as well wait till the end of the contract and see how everything turns out.

I'm not that bothered by neighbors noise, the problem is that even normal routine movements can be heard. I also do use the PC till very late (Not doing so lately just for consideration).

I don't mind renting a house as a last resort honestly, it's just a hassle. And I will probably need to soundproof a room anyway for my needs in that case (Gaming room).

  9. Greetings,

I'm looking for a decent soundproof condo in Chiang Mai.

I've been living in a unit in one of those DCondo near Central Festival for a long time. Honestly, never had a problem for years. Recently, the condo next door was rented and, wow, just now I realize how bad constructions are here.

It's barely possible to make a sound, especially at night. I can hear the neighbors walk around, going to the bathroom, well, you get the picture. It's not a situation where I want or could complain. They are not noisy, I'm talking about normal daily routine. Since I've always been a night owl myself (but also considerate) I find this situation extremely uncomfortable.

My last resort will be to rent a house at the end of my contract, but I'd like to avoid extremes.

I'd prefer to live in a condo with amenities and well-maintained (pool, gym, security, parking, pest control, good condition, etc.) but it also needs to be soundproof (Or whatever it's called). I don't need to know what everyone else is doing all the time.

    Any suggestions?
