Requirements to enter Chaengwattana
Iwik Detsiwt replied to brewsterbudgen's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The notice is "as for corporation". It doesn't state which part of the Emergency decree or CDA is applicable in asking for or supplying this information. Maybe a sign for a change in the law coming soon. Still needs to be sanctioned by the government and published in the royal gazette. Until then it is just a request.... "asking for cooperation". -
Anutin praised for getting Thailand off UK's travel "red list"
Iwik Detsiwt replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The UK Government resisted helping expats obtain a suitable vaccine until the last possible moment. I have written replies from the Health Ministry, the NHS and FCDO regarding their stance in this matter. The UK Government was shamed into acting by the Chinese, French and other Government's; vaccinating their Expat citizens in the first place. Following the US Pfizer donations the UK then decided to donate some Astra Zeneca. The UK Government were by no means instrumental, their lack lustre hold back approach contributed to the situation as we all know. Credit should be directed at the BCCT for coordinating the first vaccine response. It's only now that the UK Government will accept, Astra Zeneca, Pfizer, Modena, Johnson and Johnson administered in Thailand. And of course when it's time to take some credit there's always a photo opportunity and a chance to create some spin. -

Condo ownership by foreigners revealed: China tops, UK in third
Iwik Detsiwt replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Wow really?.....What Xenophobic comments! My landlord is Chinese and agent Thai Chinese. Couldn't be nicer people to do business with. Condo is immaculate, fully furnished, quality fixtures, superbly appointed, incredibly clean. View of the Thai Gulf, marketed at the appropriate price during Covid-19. Agent is on call 247. Each to there own I suppose.... including closet racists! -
Huge lynching mob attack murderer of woman during reenactment
Iwik Detsiwt replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand
So why did this macabre parade occur if the process is no longer meant to happen? Why was the decision made to showcase the alleged crime if not for media sensation, self promotion; glorification? Failing to protect and encouraging a suspect to self incriminate only leads to allegations of coercion, inducement, appeals, early release etc. It does nothing to increase the skill set of the murder investigation team. Men's Rea and Actus Reus are proven in court not by some television side show for the gratification of the the victim's family and the masses.- 119 replies

Thailand tipped to be removed from UK’s ‘red list’
Iwik Detsiwt replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I wouldn't get your hopes up. Post Brexit, the UK seems to do what it wants almost in contradiction to the the rest of the EU. There is no facility to have WHO approved vaccines entered onto the NHS system. But we can live in hope. -
"Nine male members of the team in masks were pictured standing to attention in the rear with the evidence comprising 5,000 items worth 3 million baht". Very funny piece of "tongue in cheek journalism!"

Pedro01....I would guess the OP lives in Prachuap Kiri Khan province given the reference to Prachuap Beach and hills. Plus there is a RE dealer nearby at Cha Am. Awesome bike though. Can't make my mind up over Interceptor 650 or CB500X. Both great bikes for Thailand's roads.
