  1. Thinking about getting the CIGNA Global Expat (Asia only, for Thailand where I will reside, and Korea where I will visit a lot) insurance. Got a quote, see below, for under THB 80k/year. Chose a plan that has no deductibles/no cost share, and seems to have a good coverage for most eventualities. I'm 50 yrs old. Any of you have experience with them? I don't care about the amount, just the quality of service. I require a dual-country policy (TH & S. KOREA) so most of the usual local suspects like Axa don;t work. If anyone has any other suggestions, feel free to suggest~
  2. I would not recommend risking any negative history showing up on an immi officer's screen upon entry. Just not worth any sort of risk when a lousy 1900 bt can keep you squeaky clean.
  3. My girlfriend, 28/Bachelor degree in accounting, works as a logistics department assistant manager/supervisor with 15 employees under her at a fairly large and well known coconut product export company located just outside of BKK. Shm makes 18,000-20,000ish/month depending on overtime and a few other extras. Her only real expense besides food is her (clean, basic) room for 3,000/month near the office. She never asks for money and is quite a proud person, but I wan to supplement her income a bit more so that her small investment portfolio (not a dummy, very frugal and is learning about basic investment strategies/vehicles) can be increased. How much do you folks think is "reasonable" ......I do really like her (I live in BKK and we see each other on most weekends, for about the last year and a half) and think there may be a possibility of marriage at some point, but that is not a primary concern. I just want to be help a good person improve her "wealth accumulation" a little as I am fortunate enough to do so. 1) 5k 2) 10k 3) 15k 4) more 5) match whatever her monthly salary is 6) zero, don't ruin a good thing
  4. I generally like Russians and hope they are welcomed here regardless of political situations (as they are like azzhools, right?).
  5. Juristic committee is required by the Condominium Act to publish/release outgoing expenses along with regular balance statements.
  6. Turning age 50 end of March, currently a resident of Korea. I have a Thai bank account (obtained years ago when it was easier) in which I always keep around 50k or so. For various reasons, I plan to hand carry US$ 10k to use for toward the THB 800k requirement on each of the 3 quick trips to Phuket I will be doing in the next few months until the end of this year. I assume this is ok (since it's not a condo purchase where the requirement of a int'l bank transfer is clear)? Please correct me if wrong. Thank you!
