  1. thanks for sharing this. basically a gamble, if i got infected i'll go to hospital to declare and if they decide to lock me in some cheap room for 2 weeks i have to do it.
  2. As per title... Anyone got infected while living here? Not talking about being into sandbox or vacations... What happened?
  3. Yeah, i think they're going to renew on Jan 25 as well. So, after my 45 days visa exemption expired I went there and asked for the covid extension. But they didn't let me do that. They asked a bunch of docs, mainly regarding where i'd been living and stamped 30 days. I thought it was the tourist visa, not sure. It wasn't the covid extension though. I hope, but i'm not sure. My first covid extension happened right before they prolonged the Covid 19 extensions, but back then they told me nothing. They know me now, perhaps I'll try in another city. Btw, if anyone can share other ways, so if the worst case scenario I'll move more cards in my hand.
  4. Hi everyone. I arrived in Thailand on late August 2021 through the sandbox program and visa exemption. After that, I got a 60 days standard tourist visa followed by 2 covid extensions. Last time they told me I cannot apply for that anymore and I have to leave the country in March. I read about many people keep going with the covid extensions for more than a year, so i don't really understand. My plan is to stay until May, so ideally I'd need two months more. Not sure what to do. I'm relatively close to Laos and before Covid it was easy due to the border run stuff. Not even sure if it's still a thing? Couldn't find updated info. Any suggestion on how to get those 2 extra months?
  5. Happened to me as well with AXA Sawasdee. Bangkok hospital prepared all the docs for the insurance, everything was confirmed. I got attacked by stray dogs and had to do the anti-rabies.
  6. Absolutely correct. I picked nothing nowhere, as it was lately confirmed I have to say that 3 out of 4 swab test got in Thailand weren't painful at all. Steady hand, quick, not into my brain, barely felt it. Only the one resulted inconclusive has been very painful (and they used the same stick in both the nostrils). The one had in my home country was painful too. It really depends on the operator, but in my experience the majority of the times was good.
  7. No, it had been very quick There was no chance. And they didn't charge the re-test
  8. Of course negative, it was impossible I'd caught covid.
  9. That dude is a savage... doing the swab on himself lol Yeah the inconclusive one was much rough than this... the one I had yesterday (the re-test) was very soft, felt almost nothing and similar to the video showed. Now just waiting the call in minutes, let's see if this turns into a nightmare
  10. Also, the test resulted inconclusive was weird respect the others, He used the same stick two times, in both nostrils. Not sure if it changes something or not. Extremely painful, while all the other PCR i've done were okay.
  11. I wish I've done that right now. I think you can just stay at your hotel, not in hospital
  12. To clarify. It tested "Inconclusive", not positive. I didn't have to pay again (only the taxi which these days in phuket is crazy). Not hospitalized, no action taken by anyone. I believe I can go outside if I wanted, when I asked to the hotel it was more a "up to you" lol I'll stay in the room though till the results arrive. Let's see, keep in mind it can happen if you get here so be mentally ready for this scenario (I wasn't).
  13. which excuses? of course i got tested again, just wanted to share what happened.
  14. All tests I've done have been PCR They explained me better at the center that was "inconclusive" so they needed to test again Yes, day 6 test. I don't think I contracted it during the trip, the first test I had at the airport was negative. I believe it to be a false positive as you said. I literally had no close contact with people, I just stay by myself.
  15. Fully vaccinated with two jabs of pfizer (in europe). The first test at Phuket airport was obviously negative. Yesterday I went for the second test (extremely painful), and today the call... "you have to go test again, the results are 50% you have it". 50% i have it? What the hell does it mean? It just sounds impossible to me, I had no contact with other people, mostly I stay in my room due to the rain and I went outside only to go at the beach early in the morning with literally no other people around. A couple of time alone at some coffee shop, respecting all the safety measures. No physical contact or close to anyone. And again, I'm fully vaccinated. They said I have to go again for the test today (another test to pay+taxi). It doesn't make any sense to me. Does anyone end-up in a similar situation during its sandbox period?
