Try reading the UK papers. Not a week goes by without there being a story of humans disfigured by strays.

    This is simply untrue!!!!

The offending dogs in the UK are invariably not strays but cared for pets ( usually large dangerous breeds) who the owners have lost control of. Often the owner is in close  proximity but is unable to restrain the critter in question.

  2. So as to avoid prosecution and conviction if you are inclined to maim or " off '  an intruder, I suggest the following.

    1. On no accounts tell all and sundry that you would kill anyone who entered your home.

    2. Use a  weapon which is an ordinarily  household implement, a meat cleaver eg if you have one in the kitchen. Maybe a golf club!!  Back in blighty iron fire pokers used to be standard!!!  Clearly, in terror you just grabbed whatever was to hand.

3  On no account make an admission of guilt. I recommend " I dunno what happened, I was terrified and fearing for my life.  I just defended myself."

  3. If you have not been to the UK recently , I would suggest you also do not rely on people stopping at pedestrian crossings when you visit the UK.

There are huge numbers of unlicensed ,uninsured and untaxed drivers on the road. Plus many who originally learned to drive-in other countries where driving standards are appalling.

Added to this is the absenceof road policing  in some areas, especially Kent. Not as bad as Thailand, but you do need to wait for traffic to slow/stop and watch for idiots while crossing. Many drivers in the UK speed up to intimidate pedestrians to stop them from even attempting to cross!!

Obviously  in LOS all the above applies in spades.

I witnessed a pedestrian fatality once in Thailand. Five minutes later the body was carted off in a pick up , no road closure while the incident was investigated and evidence gathered. So no chance of any prosecution.

It's your life, please take care of it and take extreme care when crossing roads.

He was then invited by a group of young men to go with them in their vehicle.

What did he expect? Gang rape as a likely outcome, if he had been lucky...

Not very wise believe the utterances of the  cowardly killer(s). Just as likely they forced the victim into the vehicle and ended up murdering her because she fought back(as it says in the article) !! They all need to be caught and brought to justice.

  5. Hope it's not like the UK...put the word gastro at the top of the menu tart up the food with a bit of garnish and a complicated description of a simple dish...AND DOUBLE THE PRICE.

Rather eat the food the locals eat from roadside stalls personally ..but then my Thai ex gf always said I look like a poor chicken farmer!!

They are nice dogs if they have their balls removed if they're male, can't comment on the bitches. A major problem I witness on a daily basis (the farm family has one) is they don't know their own strength and heft and are highly excitable, often bumping heavily into whatever is in the way

Doesn't the above apply to most of the owners of these canine Killers???

The owners of such critters in the UK quite often own these creatures to watch over their stash of illegal drugs and deter competitors. Hope the RTP don't read this and come a sniffing round Pit Bull owners ????

  7. I remember arriving at a bar in Pattaya where the police had been called . A tourist had groped one of the girls and been rewarded by being hit over tge head with a beer bottle. I think the guy may have called the cops himself. The tourist police quickly disabused him of the idea he had any cause to complain and sent him packing. He was lucky they didn't press charges against him in my view.

In this case 200000 baht seems a very large settlement  However the foreigner in this case may think it a very small price to pay...faced with the alternative of being officially labelled as a SEX OFFENDER, and the enormous costs attendant upon that. Possibly losing his job, losing his partner and having severe restrictions placed on any future foreign travel!!!

  8. Highly amusing thread!!

Funny how on numerous night-time strolls in this area I as a very "hansum man" have never been groped by either boys , ladyboys or female hookers!!

Clearly the guys getting this attention are giving out signals that they are welcoming such attention!!

They then of course pretend the attention from the ladyboys is unwelcome, while secretly getting a cheap thrill.

I have always been relatively sober, however.. adding vast quantities of alcohol is never a good move in this situation.

  9. Slight problem in that the proposal is for the measure to continue up to 31/12/2022 .

    That's only 4 months ahead.

This is not going to be practical for many, if not most  people as they have to arrange flights ,leave from work etc months in advance. Especially if you need a reasonably priced air ticket .
