Arrived Samuel yesterday. Great to be back after 3 years. Our favourite hotel in the world is a bit quiet though!

Arrived yesterday at USM. PCR test very well organised; results [no virus detected] under our door when we woke up. Not many here but great to be back at our favourite hotel after 3 years.

I used Google Chrome on my Mac. Wife 2 days, me 2 weeks.

Thai Airways says this: A COVID-19 test with a laboratory result indicating that COVID -19 is not detected (COVID test must be by RT-PCR method), issued within 72 hours before departure is required. Please note that this is required for all travellers, irrespective of nationality and age.

Our hotel has charged us 4,400 for 2 PCR tests; cheaper than at home.

My wife's e-visa took 2 days and her Thailand pass was approved in less than 5 minutes.

Amazingly fast. Submitted my Thailand pass yesterday, when I checked my email about 10 minutes later the approval was there. I then submitted my wife's application, success, checked her email straight. away and the pass was there.

We've got our Tourist visas, just the Thailand pass to go then we'll be in Samui!

"the system is down in some way" That is one relief, I was worried I had uploaded incorrect data. Six working days so far and "being processed." I submitted my wife's yesterday, the system gave a receipt for the fee but fee not charged to our account yet.

Last Weds I submitted a request for a 60 day tourist visa. I realise that the form has to accommodate different reasons for going, but I was at odds about what to do with the question - enter name, details of the person inviting you. We have booked our favourite hotel in Samui, so I entered not applicable. Any comments? I haven't heard back yet.

This was the rule: Air ticket for a direct international flight to Koh Samui or international flight via Bangkok of Phuket that must be connected with approved sealed flights.
