Before doing anything internally and wasting his the country's money he should have  a word with dementia Joe, as the US dollar is surging not because what Thailand is doing but due to Biden's insane throw away money policies. $ will be high for 18-24 months now, take the hit and the export gain. You start trying to keep up with Joe and Thailand will go broke.

He should try having my pound  - down both against the dollar AND the baht. Making the baht stronger due to one currency fluctuation is madness

If Biden is the reason that my US Dollar income has risen by nearly 20% this year I LOVE the guy. I'm hoping for 45-50 Baht to the Dollar.

$44 dollars for 1 ounce. A very fair price, all things considered.

Legalization in Thailand is a massive invitation to drug traffickers from around the planet to get involved. Every criminal organization from gangs to cartels are trying to figure out how to get in on the action in Thailand. Thai weed will be a game changer in the global black market for weed. The "good guys in bad guys out" scheme just got a whole lot more complicated ????

You are Soooo clueless I actually feel sorry for you.

For what it's worth, I just received my email reminder, went to the site, filled in the info and it went swimmingly. Got approved a few days later.

My only concern if I grow too reliant on their reminders then the system burps and forgets to remind me.

Get a small paper calendar, mark important dates, and stick it on your refrigerator. It's worked for me for decades, through many "system burps".

Certainly thai citizens should expect something beneficial from this potentially massive (6 billion baht in 2023 from 20 m tourists) government collection of fees?

Or are you suggesting it will be 100% embezzled?

What I am saying is that a tourist shouldn't expect any kind of massive help with their hospital bills, should they get injured, for $10. Think about it.

What you are failing to take into account is that those of us who live here will be treated as tourists, so what benefit do we get? There is no indication that those on non immigrant visas etc will be excluded from this, so what's your response to that?

Again, it is less than $10. No one should expect any meaningful benefit from it. And in the eyes of the government, everyone here (for a week or a decade) is a "visitor".
