I don't think many restaurant staff appreciate being told that the food served is not up to a good standard, so their response would not be in their script.
We went to a restaurant in Phuket a couple of weeks ago, an international franchise which boasts American food along with rock music.
I ordered a steak, which cost a tad over 1,750 Baht, when the server came and asked if everything was ok, my response that it was probably the worst steak I'd ever been served, and held up the steak which was just fat and grissle, she looked like a rabbit stuck in a cars headlights, to lighten things I added that "the broccli was nice though", there was a big smile on her face and a "thank you", and off she went.
I do have some sympathy for restaurant when diners who overfill their plates at these sort or outlets, especially when they don't eat all they've taken, but I'm sure it's costed into the price they charge.
I don't believe that threatening to sue disgruntled diners for defamation is a particularly good business model.
1750 for a steak? Man, did you get screwed.

Would you euthanize a cat for torturing a bird for a couple of hours before leaving it twitching to it's slow death? It's instinct - my Thai mutts kill rats, chickens, snakes, squirrels all the time. Anything that moves in fact. They actually quite liked our cat but the feeling wasn't mutual so it decided to go live with the neighbours. That's cat loyalty for you ????.
As for the kid, kids that age don't really assess risk well or consider the consequences of their actions. I'm sure the trauma of seeing the cat's demise will have taught him a valuable lesson.
In other words, you are an irresponsible dog owner.

Pit Bulls are DANGEROUS animals and should be BANNED nationwide. My former neighbor had two of them and I once watched them bring down a cow!

Koh Phangan has been FULLY open for months. Bars open and large parties every night. No restrictions at all.

Tragic, but this is like one of those "Florida man...." stories.

Very few foreigners on Koh Phangan wear masks and there has been NO enforcement of the law. Parties every day with hundreds of unmasked tourists.

I can't see any good comes out of it at all, yes, for medicinal purposes yes by all means, but for recreation and other activities this is a step backwards...
You do know that this is the 21st century, yes?

Always one or more in the crowd.
And are you one of those "the rules shouldn't apply to me" kind of travelers? What's so upsetting to you about my comment? If I don't like the rules of a particular country I simply won't go there. It's about choices and responsibility. Pretty simple.

I know this might sound crazy, but if you don't like the rules that the Thai government has implemented re: Covid, then DON'T COME HERE.

On Koh Phangan 99% of the Thais wear a mask everywhere, but 50% of the foreigners completely ignore the rules. And the authorities do NOTHING about it.

That can perhaps be changed. But you might just accept the status quo. Which is different, by the way. Thais confirmed that one jab is okay, and foreigners have gone from Chonburi to BKK and checked in hotels without any questions. So it might be good to read more travel experiences than unsolicited advice.
"That perhaps can be changed". I wish I had 5 Baht for every time a visitor here thinks that they can "change" ANYTHING here with their Western ideas, logic, or personal narrative. I wish you the best of luck, but why the hell don't you just get the f*ckin' jabs and have one less thing to think about during your visit here? It sounds like you're just stirring up <deleted>, and creating hassles for yourself.

I am neither saying that is good nor bad. I was a backpacker and lived on KPG in 1992.
Not true. Koh Phangan is over 80% vaxxed. It's a small minority of the hippie poseurs that are bitching and moaning about the vaccine. They can all just leave when immigration requires a vax certificate to extend their visas. Good riddance. The majority of the island's residents are sick of these idiots.

I tried to find grass seed a few years ago and was told that only sod farms and golf courses were permitted to buy (import) it. Unavailable to the general public.

Samui immigration - 1-year extension-Thai wife- 2022 list of required documents?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Does anyone know if the list of required docs for a 1-year extension based on having a Thai wife has changed this year at Samui immigration? Any new papers required? (copied and signed, of course). I'm using the 2021 list now.
