The money can't be returned because the temple has already spent it on the construction of religious structures," Samphan said, as he showed up at the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to answer questions on behalf of Phra Dhammachayo.
Possibly fences maybe?

Well it isn't only Buddhists who have ghosts is it?
Those fairy tales keep coming back no matter who or what created the legends or rumours.
Holy Spirit, or Holy Ghost, is a term found in English translations of the Bible, but understood differently among theAbrahamic religions.

Offer some money.. 200k baht ought to do it!
The tragedy of the post by casualbiker is that what is said is true.
A '' charitable donation'' will indeed open a door for your daughter.
Charity?
No. It's called corruption!!!

I just feel for anyone who comes here in search of genuine advice on life in Thailand. The perennial cost of living threads, for example, follow an entirely predictable descent into name-calling and points scoring : I'm not aware of a single such thread where people simply give their experience/recommendations and leave the thread. Happy to hear otherwise, but we seem to be repeating ourselves and its particularly odd when even the most innocuous threads have to be pruned by a mod because of 'personal attacks' or similar madness. TV is a troll's wet dream - so easy to start a thread that you know will get people foaming at the mouth, and we take the bait far too often.
Having a bad hair day are we?

If you chuck a stock cube and some noodles in the hot water thing people rinse their cutlery in, you can have free soup too. Top tip.
Yes very true. it also ''keeps you regular'' if you know what I mean.

The Israel-haters attempts at "logic" is absurd. ISIS murders innocent people for no legitimate reason. Israel's FM has suggested killing traitors and throwing enemies out of the country, which is not all that unusual in any country at war. There is a BIG difference.
FM has suggested killing traitors and throwing enemies out of the country, which is not all that unusual in any country at war. There is a BIG difference. As a matter of interest where is the 'declaration of war,' and when was war declared?
Such a declaration would give legal foundation to,the comments however as far as I could find there was nor is a formal declaration of war by Israel.
Hence the statement would seem to be on a par with a statement from a terrorist group.

No surprise. It's hard to have a decent conversation about anything here without being shouted down by fools.
Now who might those fools be, what class of member ?

Don't lose your head over the statement confirming a Russian Jew (not a home grown one) also a government post holder in a number of positions who publicly announces his extreme views.
Now are those views typical of a Russian emigree or might those views have been adopted from recent last century European history?
Now can you justify this Lieberman statement and will you, do really support this kind of creature and its statement ?
Indeed the statement Lieberman has made is akin to pouring petrol on a fire.

The issue here is they think they can do what they want because we are not a big company, and are probably not used to "small" people taking them to court. Best to continue to keep my head down and just issue the claim in May when they fail to make that payment. Not sure whether I will include anything else onto that claim as of yet. I know how the English legal system works, but no idea about what is recoverable in Thai law.
And perhaps you'll now realise that you are not in the U.K. with all of labour laws but in Thailand.
You are in a hall of mirrors
Your continuing campaign is doing you no good at all, be careful that your wife and her family are not used as a lever and turned against you.
Presuming family maybe are living in the area or even worse your wife has no immediate family near to hand you may well find that someone in a position of power may go and speak to your wife.
Remember also that if you start to seriously upset people life is cheap here especially a farang life, dramatic comment maybe, however you need to tread carefully.
Comments concerning the previous system and your assumption of monies saved may well be thin ice especially if it draws attention to another person (s) financial arrangements and income(s).
Take your own advice and keep your head down then you'll keep your head, walk away chalk it down to experience and your innocence or naivety.
He who runs away does not get hurt.

Equality only with justice' - Yingluck Shinawatra
Bear in mind that this comment comes from a woman who was openly announced as a clone of her brother the puppet master..
That's equality and justice?

trogers post # 4.
The deep desire to go into actual combat has been inculcated into minds of youth over the past 2 decades through violent video and computer games.
All they need is a cause and some finance.
A sad but true fact, these kids have lived in a fantasy world where one walks away with nary a scratch.
Let us see what happens when the truth hits home being shot at is not fun, being shot hurts, well that's my personal experience anyway,.
The problem is these kids are but cannon fodder and have little or no chance of survival or escape.
Their only release comes with death either at the hands of those they are engaged in combat with or with those who have warped their minds.
The latter scenario is the more likely one as once there is an established ground area of bigoted dictatorial religious mania in existence those converts will be treated an non believers.

Kudos to the Australian authorities for their action in this matter.

The topic of the thread is "Koh Tao suspects to be indicted by the end of the month". It has nothing to do with the pictures you are posting.
Of course you are correct we must never let the facts lead to the truth must we?
More witnesses to come forward and expose the shortcoming of the investigation team.
Tut tut, can't be having that can we?
Now such revelations could cause a drop of income for some and dip in certain interested peoples business income too.

The man took over the reins from an administration whose rampant blatant corruption, self interest self benefiting and personal family aims and actions were starting to destroy the country which was on the brink of serious civil disorder.
We may not agree with what happened, however we are starting to see some scratches being made upon the skin that covers the body of corruption. The medicine takes time to administer.
Now for all of those who lambaste the general for his actions and comments.
Ask yourselves just what qualification did the last Prime Minister(s) have?
Truth be known none apart from being put into place by their paymaster to serve his and his family and their cronies interests and to hell with Thailand and its peoples, family first was the motto.
So a comment was made by the general that inflames your delicate nature.
What about the number of offensive comments made by those aforementioned Prime Ministers?,
You know,''did you have sex last night.''
The ping -pong bat with a cross on it to signify, ''I am not responding your your questions,'' the legal actions against the fourth estate and its members and the pursuit of enormous sums of money via those court actions so as a fragile ego could be healed or a fat wallet filed even more.
To our Western eyes and minds this current administration may not seem democratic, however look back at the past here then look at our/ your own countries and define democracy and see just what the parallels are.
There are in many cases behind the scenes military uniforms a plethora of bankers and business people in suits who manipulate the politicians the way they want them to go.
Paradise is supposed to be in the next cosmic address it's not of this world, nor will it ever be either.
All my 24 years here and I find I can live happily with the current administration.
Despite its flaws, this administration does seem to be trying to tackle a gigantic cancerous growth of corruption and another malignant tumour of self interest, it's going to take more than a year or two or a generation or two before this cancer and that tumour are eradicated or contained if in fact they ever can be contained or eradicated at all.
So think about it please.
If you have all the solutions to the myriad of problems facing this administration and this country why are you not running your own countries as opposed to residing here?

Sounds like a typical doctor with a God complex and one to be avoided.
Kantana,.
Did you actual look at the date the ganglion was dealt with?
Somehow I doubt it
Yes, he was a damm fine doctor with a rural practice and as I recall no god complex either.
We can presume of course that you are or were a doctor and are or was certified to practice as a G.P. in the U.K. thus qualified to comment with authority on the matter and the character of a long since deceased doctor with a rural practice in the .U.K.?

Yes, the wild west. Next you will be getting someone abducting, murdering and dismembering their stepsister, or pushing a policewoman on to a railway track or even stabbing an innocent pedal cyclist to death.Just three of the stories I heave read from the UK in the last couple of days.Lets just hope it doesn't get that bad here.
Indeed a valid point.
However perhaps you should look a little closer at the matter.
Today's headlines here on T.V. for instance and, follow up on the local televisions network news slots for the last 24 hours here
Yes, the wild west is here in Thailand too and has been for all the 24 years I've been here too.
Al those situations you so vividly describe have happened here before.
No monopoly on such acts by residents of the U.K. or elsewhere for that matter
Indeed there are none so blind as those who do not wish to see or as deaf as those who do not want to hear.

Panas was known to be an influential real estate developer. He also co-owned some restaurants on Koh Samui with some farang businessmen. He reportedly provided protection to farang businessmen who invested on the island.
So if we look at the quote above we may well come to the conclusion that there were there are business practices operated on the island that may well be considered unethical thus those ''business people'' foreign or Thai were in the habit of having a ''loss of profits assurance policy'' in operation to protect their''investments.
Premiums paid monthly or weekly to the ''assurance man'' one wonders?

Indeed we are now witnessing the results of the removal of the ''strong men'' who didn't fit those with vested interest agenda's of the industrial military complex.
The tribal system needs a strong leader who of course is not loved by all.
Remove those leaders and we now see the proliferation of extremist groups who have gained access to powerful weaponry and also the minds of those they conquer.
The balance of power is changing and we are now living in traumatic times as a result of ill advised and illegal previous actions .

And to add further to the above quote,
The parents were and are at fault as are their cultural instructors for not actually seeing or even wanting to understand what course those children were following.
Do not blame the police or the security service ,look to the community and its bias to those who refuse to integrate, socially and religiously.
The culture in which these children and their families live in and moved in is the culprit.
