  1. Not a stranger.. If you had read the article you would have known that.
  2. A nice gesture indeed, after 17 years of service, care and friendship.
  3. No doubt scientific advances originated from dissenting views. Nobody's questioning that.. Any sources to back up the rest of your claims?
  4. Wow, the Koch-brothers (multi billionaires btw) and the rest of the fossile fuel lobby, really did a number on you guys. Having you speaking out against your own best interest.. Are you not aware that it is the poor, not the rich, that are, and will suffer firstly and mostly with the destruction of our habitat..
  5. Not even the rich can live without clean water, food and breathable air. We will not perish as a race, I think, but even the rich will eventually see their standards of living collapse. And not even they can entirely escape the effects of wars, conflicts and mass migration, that will eventually happen, if we don't act in time to prevent it all reaching a breaking point...
  6. Maybe that made sense in your mind, I doubt to anyone else.. I was talking about the human impact on our eco-system. Are you saying that most of the worlds coastlines, now littered with plactic debris is not caused by humans? Hardly small or insignificant... I could go on and on, but I'm probably speaking to deaf ears in your case...
  7. You don't even have to listen to the scientists, though, just use your own eyes and observational skills. I've been a kayak-enthusiast and diver/freediver for decades now, and have witnessed, with my own eyes, the destruction of the marine habitat. Warming oceans, coral bleaching, decimated marine life, the 'plastic-tsunami'.. It's all real, beyond any doubt.
  8. It's this level of ignorance that's going to, eventually, end organised human life on earth... Every serious scientist in the world agree that climate change, caused by human activity, is real and happening.
  9. Well, they stormed the Capitol in an attempt to overthrow American democracy, causing injuries, damage and deaths. So why not..?
  10. I thought facts were 'dribble' and 'fake'? Are facts 'insults' now? Or perhaps facts are both 'dribble', 'fake' AND 'insults'? But facts can also be 'true' if they support your bias..hmm.. So maybe facts are 'true dribble' and 'fake insults' then...
  11. No, this guy Neeranam tried to paint a picture of Trump as a 'president of peace', and Biden as a 'president of war', when in fact, the world experienced severeal new wars erupting on both their watches, but neither of them started any wars themselves. That's your only disappointment with Trump? You're not disappointed that under Trump the economy lost 2.9 million jobs. The unemployment rate increased to 6.3%. Illegal immigration increased. The murder rate rose to the highest level since 1997. The number of people lacking health insurance rose by 3 million. The federal debt held by the public went up, from $14.4 trillion to $21.6 trillion, and also under trump, his billionaire buddies received vast handouts and tax-cuts and increased their wealth by 1 trillion, while ordinary Americans' disposable income fell..? Or how about his criminal mismanagement of covid (chlorine anyone?) Leading to hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths..
  12. Yes, thank you, that brings us to yet another well-known trait of the maga-crowd, Projection.. Because there's nothing even remotely resembling cultism among the maga-crowd right? Your great leader, The Orange One, the cult-leader himself, is particularly good at projecting his failings and misdeeds onto others. And then you have that 'liberal left cult'-bastion of QANON, all hard-core Trump supporters.. Nothing cultist or conspiracy-like about them right...?
  13. Yikes, that sounds absolutely frightening! And here I was, blissfully ignorant, drinking my coffee, thinking the 'red peril' was long gone with the fall of the Berlin Wall, but no Sir, here today in the 'Asean Now-forum', I have been reminded that it is not so... So, BTB1977, what are we gonna do? Can the orange Jesus save us?
  14. I already told you. Stop the violence. Negotiate. You seem incapable of listening to any reason or any other pow that does not conform to your bias. Your loss...
  15. Seriously? The Palestinians are victims of a genocide as we speak, and you wonder how many of them are moderates right at this moment..? You need to study the situation more thoroughly. Then you would understand that for every action there is a reaction. Nothing happens in a vacuum. The damage is already done, and can't be undone.. Violence breeds more violence, breeds more violence, in an endless cycle.. Both parties must therefore stop the violence, sit down, negotiate, and if they can't agree, then the world community must intervene..
  16. Ah, yes, to the maga-crowd, facts are known as 'dribble'.. unless, of course, the facts conform to their bias. Then facts are, once again, believable...
  17. Indeed.. Like their orange Messiah, the maga-crowd don't like to read.. If it can't be said through a one-liner or a slogan, it's not worth saying at all. (Mostly, because they won't read past that anyway..)
  18. What? Brexit didn't work? It made everthing worse? Oh dear...
  19. A pile of nonsense. That's not why it failed. It failed because Israel denied the Palestinians their own state, and denied to leave occupied land. You are both biased, uneducated and narrow-minded. It was Netanyahu and other extremists that stood most firmly in the way of any deal happening. Read about the murder of Y. Rabin to see how far those people were willing to go. You see things only from one (Israels) side, they are blameless in your eyes, no matter how much they provoke, attack and kill. And you are unable to see things objectively. Keep that up, and you will never understand much about the world you live in.. Have a good day.
  20. Ask yourself, what can the police also do..? I would never physically attack a driver (first), but imagining this was me, I would rather accept the meeting, resolve this with a wai (and probably some money), and get on with my holiday, rather than risk jail and deportation...
  21. Simple minded nonsense. You generalise and claim to speak the mind of all Palestinians, and that they all don't want there to be an Israel. Turn the clock back to the Oslo Accord in 1993, and you would see that a two state solution was what the majority wanted. Before Netanyahu and his ilk successfully sabotaged and destroyed it. Fast forward till today for the consequences..
  22. That's not even an answer.. How am I wrong in that had the Palestinians been able to live their lives with dignity and in prosperity and peace, in their own land, the Hamas would have no reason to exist?
  23. It's in what I have said countless times now: Had the Palestinians been able to live their lives with dignity and in prosperity and peace, in their own land, the Hamas would have no reason to exist.
