When i retire to Thailand (hopefully) next year i will buy a house, is it best to buy in a gated community? is the security worth it? As i want my own pool there is no advantage to me of a community pool So will the monthly charge be worth it? Are there any advantages im not seeing?

To qualify for entry into Thailand you have to have covid insurance so why would they not pay out?

The more i read on this site the more im thinking that retiring to LOS is a bad idea. But the missus wants to go home and it is a country ive loved for over 30 years so what do i do?

Lets be honest they will still be talking about this in 15 years time and if they ever do it 5 mins later they will change the rules You can be sure that you will need big bucks to qualify anyway.

I would be interested to know if the Elite visa is worth the money for someone intending to retire to Thailand and not travel too much?

A country transformation ? does that mean democracy and no corruption And making it easier for tourists ?

Firstly hello to everybody as i am the new guy Next year i am planning to retire to Thailand ( covid allowing) with my Thai wife, we hope to buy a house and i hope to get a retirement visa I have a couple of questions, If i buy a house in my wifes name and she dies can i still live in the house? What is the best type of visa to go for? we will be renting while we look for a house to buy how does this effect me getting a visa I have been going to LOS since 1989 and i have lived there for a year 10 years ago so i do have an idea of the reality of moving there. All replies will be gratefully received.
