hello, last time I went to my nearest Krungsri branch with an ED visa and I was not allowed to open a bank account because this visa was only for study and not work, according to the lady. Does anybody know a bank that can open a bank account for me without requiring a work permit or similar?

Maybe it depends on your attitude? I know some friends have the "western mentality" here and they get in all sorts of problems. Just be humble and don't have an attitude, especially when dealing with immigration, and you should be okay. Thailand is indeed the friendliest and most welcoming place I have experienced.

What's your current situation. Extension, what type.
What has previous agent assisted you with?
Age.
I have Volunteer visa + a couple covid extensions. Age under 50. Ideally I'd like to get another volunteer, alternatively a marriage visa.

the visa agent I have been using charges exorbitant amounts now. If anybody can recommend me via PM a good agent in or near bangkok, that would be much appreciated. I don't have any farang friends in need of visa services so it would be just one guy more to join the party ???? Thanks.

CW does not do covid extensions if you have a previous extension from another province. This I was told by my visa agent and also I went to CW today and they told me to contact my agent or the immigration office where I did the last extension. MTT is only for tourist visas, so I wouldn't know how they handle extensions from other provinces.

I was asked at DMK in 2019 as I was returning from a visa run from Malaysia by air after doing tourist visa runs for 1.5 years. The officer apparently marked me on my last visa run, but didn't mention it to me then, although I remember him asking me what I was doing here. I just answered whatever, and he shrugged and gave me the entry stamp. This time however he asked me aside and asked me what I was doing here for 1.5 years, had all my visits printed out in front of him. I just answered I stay here with my girlfriend and live in my condo. He then asked me to show him my cash. I just had 7-8k baht with me as I wasn't aware of the 20k rule then. Earned myself being blacklisted, but when I entered the country again with a new passport on landborder from Cambodia 5 months later, I was asked aside and had to sit there for a while until the friendly police officer sorted me out. He asked me what the reason for the blacklist was and I just said "no cash money", he smiled and nodded and that was that. I did have to fill out a form though which asked me how much money I had on me, which you can be sure this time I had enough. Wish I was active in online groups and forums back then, well, lesson learned.
