You can post and moan on forever about the way true have ripped people off. I am disgusted with them. I would like to know just how much HBO wanted for there pack from true vision. But we will never know. You have the power to fine true vision yourselfs. Walk away It has been stated officially in the OP they as a company have broken there contract with there customers. Therefore it is your right to cancel your subscription with them even if your contract is still ongoing. Fine them your way walk away.
I'd rather know how much they have pulled in with these premium packages and compare that to the 5m fine. I'm sure it was a payer!

5 million baht fine is peanuts. 50 million would be more appropriate. The replacements to HBO, SONY etc. Are very poor. I will drop True soon.
Soon?! ?

Thanks guys for your replys,
Ah okay so from what Elviajer/ Bigfun & Ubonjoe have said I can apply for a Non B visa back in my country but have to do 90 days borders runs.
So not 90 day check ins? Border Runs?
But for the 1 year extension 50K is required.
The company is offering "Non-B visa and work permit provided"
But the salary is less then the required 50K for extension.
How do they get around this?
Or do I need to tell them up the money to 50K so my visa paperwork is in order?
Thanks KiwiBoy
They don't need to pay you 50k pcm...just the withholding taxes on 50k pcm. Then they/you will have the required paperwork for an extension.
Of course if they actually pay you 50k+ then it's better for you ?

The 50k baht salary is not required to get a work permit. It is only required to apply for a one year extension of stay at immigration based upon working for a company.
It's required to show here, in Surathani, to renew.

There are 2 options for non B -
Obtain outside of Thailand - little paperwork and easy but 90 day border runs required OR
Obtain extension inside Thailand which requires lots of paperwork, 4 Thai staff, etc but 90 day border runs not needed.
-
Yes...it is confusing...the 50k pcm will be the required salary for you as a Kiwi. This will be stamped in your work permit. That means that you will need to pay 5% of that as withholding tax (ภงด1) monthly. This will only be required as proof when you renew, as when you first apply this will not have started yet.
Your employing company will also need to show social security payments for 4 Thai staff PER work permit.
I hope it helps and isn't just more confusing! ?

So they are issuing deeds for non deed ed lands...and you DON'T want her coming back? You don't want your land to get a title deed?
What is the land currently? Sor kor 1? Tor bor 5? Sor por gor?
KK is a popular and growing area. Chanot there will be worth something.

There were a few difficulties around October with non O's but not non B's. Currently had a client just return from non B trip - no problems...

Hmmm opening a can of worms here. Who's next? Land officials, local govt officials, customs officials, govt tender controllers...the po po?
All the above I hope ?

Don't forget 'Moo Ham' and the Porsche driver who drove for kms with a severed torso of his victim...in the passenger seat!
It's like when guys on here say, 'oh so bad things don't happen in other countries'. It's not that they don't happen...it's about how they are dealt with by the 'authorities'. Mind you that US Ivy League rapist got off easily...

nope . you dont need a non b to own a business here , its only for a work permit .
You can have a work permit on a non O if married to a Thai national but not on a non O based on retirement. It's also possible to make a WP with only 1m registered capital when you have a Thai spouse.

Why is it baffling when people are allowed to work on a Non-O they can easily get in Laos/Sawannakhet?
The times are over that a visa has to run with the dates of the work permit.
If someone's working for a school on a Non-O and is losing his job, he won't lose his permission of stay.
As far as I'm aware work is only allowed when a non B is held.

Interesting that none of these ever-vigilant human rights ‘defenders’ seemed terribly bothered by the Islamic State’s ethic cleansing of Kurds, Shias and Christians.
Does that make either atrocities OK?

Sigh ... and what's the source for your claim that Thaksin ordered the attack? Here's a BBC piece where the General in charge takes personal responsibility for the attack: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/3932323.stm. "But General Panlop Pinmanee, the military commander who ordered the mosque operation, was unrepentant. "I had no choice. If I had delayed my decision by two or three hours there would have been more catastrophe," he told AFP."
Here's another piece that is not Thaksin-friendly, https://www.countercurrents.org/hr-achr060504.htm, but which includes the following: "Deputy Prime Minister Chavalit Yongchaiyudh reportedly ordered Gen Panlop Pinmanee, Deputy Director of the Internal Security Operations Command and the most senior person present during the standoff, to negotiate with the assailants and talk them into surrendering, no matter how long it took. However, the army used disproportionate force even after the assailants had stopped shooting. On 29 April 2004, Deputy Prime Minister Chavalit Yongchaiyudh reportedly ordered General Panlop Pinmanee to leave immediately. General Pinmanee later defended himself, saying if the occupation of the mosque was allowed to continue into the night the situation would have become more complicated"
So, again, on what grounds do you claim that Thaksin gave the order to attack... seems quite the opposite in fact.
So what are you saying? Isn't he ULTIMATELY responsible as the leader of the country? Do you also not think he could TELL the army in charge to say that (obviously not provable by you or I). Does he carry NO RESPONSIBILITY for either massacre? Did he also not order THE WAR ON DRUGS where there were thousands of EXTRA JUDICIAL murders?
Why defend the guy? Are you in his inner circle?

I really don't know what the issues are down south. sounds Alot like the Irish thing in North Ireland. I quess it's a religious thing. maybe I should study a little more on the subject. people need to get a long..that's what every human wants. a peaceful life to raise their family. so sad this stuff happens.
I'm no expert but as far as I know the border has moved backwards and forwards between Thailand and Malaysia over the years. This has led to a disparate population. Add to this that some areas were even autonomous areas too it makes for a mess. I think that the problems are partly because 'they' wish to make the area autonomous again.
To add to all this mess lovely Mr T ordered the Kru Se massacre while in charge. There was also an incident where 'protesters' were rounded up, piled in the back of trucks, read one on top of another then driven round the extra long route to the detention center. When they finally arrived many had died from the heat, exhaustion and ultimately suffocation. Why no one cites this as reason alone for Mr T to be on trial I don't know.
It's also said that many insurgents are actually Indonesians too.
A little info there....
oh yrs Take Bai AND Kru Se
