  1. Why all the hostility? This is just a business deal. If I company doesn't meet a deadline, there are usually penalities negotiated into the contract. There is an inherent nasty undercurrent to this thread.

As an American, I have no problem if Airbus drops them as many suggest that they should. Im sure Boeing will be happy to take their money instead. lol

All I see is ho humm ramblings about nothing as well; the klong is nothing but a shallow pool of mud and the tone of the thread really has none. I find it amusing though that the airline would spout off about cancelling the contract in the first place. Since the jet really has no competition; the Boeing jet is not even in the A380 class, should still have a clear viable market for which Thai would propose its use, unless of course their thinking on the routes it has planned for really has no viability, which means who knows what !

    Thanks,

    Randy

  2. Let them cancel; I am sure Airbus could care less. It would be far easier for Airbus to pay some fines than let the LOS airline whine about something as a delivery date being past due. They will take their (Thai) commitment and add it to another contract. As it stands the fate of the jet will be that it delivers a few years late; nothing to be surprised about here, all aerspace contractors blow delivery schedules and pay fines. Let Thai Airways cancel. But mark my words, come Dec 5th when "Gigantor" turns on final approach the Royal Orchid will be there smiling with flags a waving, and no cancellation of the contract and yes the fines will be paid when all said and done.

    Thanks,

    Randy

  3. Sounds like now would be a good time to add some inclusionaries to your existing homeowners policy; and more directly under "Catastrophic Occurrances not only inclusive of manmade phenomena called 'destructions or damages,' but any non-directs involving government directed or assisted wherewithin the policy holder will be deemed non intervening and nondescript as being of a recipiant of all recourses or recoveries or assessments and any monetary compensations."

An A380 falls into this matrix.

  4. I think this is justifiable on the part of the taxi drivers and given the lack of injinuity or forethought regarding world class services for air travelers the AOT has clearly dropped the ball from this point and from the very inception of the facility. It is amusing though; can you imagine being a firstime traveler to the LOS and to walk into the arrivals wing only to find this nonsense unfolding. I think AOT is in for more of this and it doesnt end here.

Remember the pissed off neighbors that complain about the noise from planes taking off. Rest assured there will be more fleecing of the people when this is all said and done.

The putting aside of DM airport is a classic example of a wasted resource. Clearly the government has no thinking minds amongst them. Quite predicatable and now with the taxi drivers revolting; we now have an entertainment value to add albeit negative...

  5. Never mind - I forgot this is an entirely different tax base of people. have you ever seen a MD 80 take off with the nose pointed almost 45 degrees after the wheels have left the runway; its quite a sight! But you ###### well better follow takeoff protocol or some angry Newport Beach homeowners would be all over the city manager in a New York frakken minute baby!

  6. BANGKOK: -- Able to move six million tonnes of freight per year, Suvarnabhumi Airport--which began full commercial operations September 28--is on its way to NOT becoming Southeast Asia's regional cargo hub.

Supachai Kaewsiri, director of the DIS-Information Technology Division of Thai Airport Ground Services (TAGS), said that his firm has invested Bt700 million the continued fleecing of people in the LOS.

During the past 27 days, Supachai said, TAGSs supervision of the IT network in Suvarnabhumi proved a smooth operation as planned but if one frakking hiccup were to occur then game frakken over!

German consultants have recommend that both systems be used in parallel for the initial three months so as to capitoloze on the inability for Thais to get their shiot together before the wannabe airport opened.

Mr. Suphachai added that Suvarnabhumi Airport's cargo warehouse has served about 10,000 business operators. When ACCS is in full use in January 2007, Suvarnabhumi is highly likely to become the primary cargo hub for all of Southeast Asia, because cargo services will be centred at one stop. (More like one stopped up clusterfrak of cargo nextdoor to a passenger terminal with not enough toilets that will be replaced for B200m - MORE DREAMS and means to fleece the people in the LOS !
