  1. I heard that possibly it takes longer to get off the plane and to the customs area than the amount of time you spend in customs. The baggage carousels of which there are 2 have had some problems so waiting for your checked bags could be a sad experience. Do yourself a huge favor and just bring a carryon; dont check anything! The arrivals area is a mad house too. I suggest you get a car service than a taxi. I am using www.orientalescape.com they have one way for B900 and RT for B1700 all inclusive for my trip next month. Good luck, let us know how you fared...

  2. sheeze! Whats next "drive by shootings?" This is just typical of what is happenning all over the big Blue Ball we call Earth. It is disgusting and people need to be more cognicant of their surroundings and simply not put themselves in situations that have probability towards "terrorism" and that means ALL FORMS of TERRORISM! Common people, "wake up" and survive!

    Thanks,

  3. Hi: My name is Randy and I live in San Diego. I will be visiting BKK this Nov. I am training for my 2nd career in medicine. I SCUBA dive, play tennis and golf, I am a pilot and also fly model airplanes and and collect watches.

  4. sorry - I did read some of the thread and saw a blip about DM still being on line for some reason.

Not sure what to do about when I arrive - do I want to wade through an ocean of people and wait up to an hour for my lone bag to fall down the carousel and then enter the "sea of arrivals" only to find a taxi driver then to enter the traffic on the road exiting the terminal.

I kinda think I would be better off and (hopefully rested enough fr the flight) to put up with a short hop to 'rental row' pick up the car and hopefully not run into frakking BKK traffic as humbling as that could be...

Then again I could bus it, what number bus is it to Kasetsart Uni area?

    Thanks,

    Randy

  5. Hi Everyone:

My name is Randy and I am from San Diego and will be traveling to BKK in November. I will be staying at a place called Maruay Hotel near Kasetsart University. I am wondering how much it will be for a taxi from Suvarnabhumi to the hotel.

What are gas prices now in BKK per litre?

When I tried booking a rental car (economy seat 5 passenger) from Avis or Hertz - the search turned up "not available," any idea; maybe because Suvarnabhumi airport rentals are not "on-line" yet. Any comment.

Also what bus could I take as an alternate to getting to the Maruay Hotel from Suvarnabhumi would be greatly appreciated...

    Thanks

    Randy
